Dr. Margaret Little is by far the worst physician I have ever had. It never felt as though my health really mattered to her. She rushed through more than one appointment so she could make it to yoga and she was rude and disrespectful to her nurse. Worst of all, I had an abrasion on my forearm that wasn't healing, on my second visit for this issue, she literally shrugged her shoulders and said, "you'll be okay" as she walked out the door. Thankfully her nurse didn't agree and urged me to seek medical care elsewhere. Thank goodness she did, had I waited, I could have lost my arm due to a severe infection. I would not trust my health and well being to this woman. Dr. Margaret Little is by far the worst physician I have ever had. It never felt as though my health really mattered to her. I adore Dr. Little. She’s been my primary care Dr since I moved to RVA and it’s been 5 years now of wonderful care. I’ve been in to see her from a simple cold, to discussing my psychiatric medicines to a major stomach issue. She was very quick to send me to a GI Dr and to get a CT scan when I had very sudden and startling stomach pains in my left side. Dr. Little didn’t hesitate to get me where I needed to be seen and quickly. Turns out it was some digestive issues that could be managed with lifestyle change and supplementation and we discovered a gastric fold that I didn’t know existed. Dr. Little has always been through, gentle, a listening ear and helpful to get me back on track. I hope she will stay my primary for as long as I am in Richm one. The reviews stating that the office only Cares about money- I am surprised to hear this specifically because I’d called Dr. little about coming in for something and she said, “oh don’t do that, I don’t want them to keep charging you, you can just call back and leave a message for my nurse and we will handle. She absolutely did not want me coming in for an office visit and change when the issue was something that could be messaged to the nurse. Which btw- you can always leave a message on the nurses message line and the Dr will always get it. She may not respond immoderately, but the notes from the message are taken down and added into your patient notes. They are through and honest. I adore Dr. Little. She is very soft-spoken and appears to be nice, yet she doesn’t listen to the patient at all. I’ve been a patient for a few years, trying to see if things get better. She rushes you along and frequently looks at the clock to stay on her strict 5 min schedule. I went in for an annual appointment with a few questions that I expected answers to. Heck, this is the best time to get them answered. When I proceeded to ask questions, she mentioned that another person canceled, so it was OK that we went over. How unprofessional is that? She only wanted to go over her annual check-up script and send me about my way. She is not a good doctor to see if you are looking for someone who is concerned about your well-being and willing to even look at your problems. I guess I’m just used to sitting on the table and having a doctor use a stethoscope at every visit and at least pretending to care why you are there. Good luck because she might not find the answer on her laptop.

Dr little was my primary care physician from 1998 trough 2014, she was so caring, so kind, responsible and so through than I had never seen before. She was the one who found the reason about my blood pressure and found how to get rid of it. I’ve never had a caring and a responsible primary care physician as Dr little in my whole life. I sat there awkwardly while she typed on her computer and she didn't explain what she was doing. This was my first visit. I have chronic back pain and the rule is you go in person if you've never been seen. They did not do anything that they couldn't do virtually. I'm not sure they took my blood pressure but I don't remember. I was going to seek out a specialist and I should have found the specialist on my own. Not to mention that the specialist had some issues as well. And she wanted to talk about my back pain that I wasn't there to talk about and it's been happening for two decades so I am very educated about what to do. I found this visit to be frustrating and her to be naive. I sat there awkwardly while she typed on her computer and she didn't explain what she was doing. This was my first visit. I started going to Dr. Little about 5 years ago and to be honest I didn't have any problems until this last 2 years. But my last visit is the reason for the review. I keep asking myself why did i even bother to try once more to see if things will be different this time. Well things started off wonderful she addressed my issues with out any problems. Then when I picked up my prescription and got home I realized she prescribe me the wrong medication. So this is a huge problem because you can not return medication and now I am very upset. Why would she do that was she not paying attention. So not only will i have to pay for the visit but now i have to repurchased the correct medication. This will be my last visit. I was with Dr. Little for several years. She is nice and very soft spoken. However, she does not appear to review your file at all, (based on the questions asked,) and confuses details of your history, because she does not know her patient. She types on a computer the entire time (very little eye contact,) asks very “scripted” questions (many of which are things she should know, because they are in the file.) She does not give you the feeling she knows you at all, even after years’ as a patient. Appears forgetful and there is no follow up with issues. There is little to no explanation for things and lacks the connection that most people want with a primary care physician.

I called to make an appointment when I was sick and she wouldn't see me - because I was sick. When I asked to have a prescription called in she said no - because she hasn't seen me. Makes no sense. When I went for my wellness exam she ran all kinds of bloodwork but never called or sent a letter with the results. When I called and asked she sent me the raw numbers with no explanation. Needless to say I'm looking for a new primary care physician.

Had an appt.. had seen Dr Little few years ago for 20+ years then was seen at an employment clinic a few years... registered early after completing paperwork and was called back... weighed and bp taken.. was placed in an exam room and waited.. Dr Little walks in recognizes me starts to chat and asked what brings me in to see her.. I begin to speak and I’m interrupted and told.. “oh I’m sorry you’re not completely registered” .. she leaves and a few mins later registration comes in to alert me I have a high deductible ... oh and Dr Little would like $100 collected before I’m seen... I stated, “I can give you a credit card although did not walk in with my pocketbook so so you need me to go get my credit card now or after I’m seen?” Registration states, “ummm I’ll check”.. walks out the room and I wait.. I put my shoes on and grabbed my things and stepped out in the hallway to see Dr Little just standing there waiting for registration as if to wait for someone to wave a flag to announce she could or could not see me.. this truly made me feel so extremely uncomfortable and I just about wanted to cry! I was in pain for one reason and to top it off have poison ivy .. I stated, “I feel really uncomfortable” and Dr Little states “oh why? I’m sorry” I stayed, “for me to be mid sentence and you decide a dollar was more important makes me feel sad and very uncomfortable” Dr Little stated, “we’ve been having lots of problems with payments” ok great now she’s stereotyped me... I left peacefully but just to get out of there because I felt terrible and then to be treated like I don’t matter but the dollar is more important than my health. I left not even knowing how to feel although was overwhelmingly saddened at the way I was treated and at where health care and physicians have gone. I called another office recommended by a friend and instantly the receptionist was so pleasant.. I suppose things happen for a reason and I’ll move on and see another physician and try and make it a few additional days. I would not recommend va physicians because if they care so little for the human being and more for the all mighty dollar.. then why are they even in healthcare? I would suggest training the front desk to be more thorough and capture payments up front .. my ins card reads 10%co-pay... that’s odd as well to ask me for $100.00 for a 10% of drs visit... Very uncomfortable feeling. I have never had so many problems with a doctors office in my life. Their employees are curt, rude, judge mental, and absolutely unprofessional. They have refused refills on important medicine without contacting me, I had to find out about it through my pharmacist. Actually refused a refill because they didn’t think I had ever been to see them before but have actually been going to that office for 2 years. No communication. No human decency. My family has sought care from Dr. Little for decades now--some longer than others. She is the consummate professional in taking the time to listen to her patients and to provide the appropriate care. Dr. Little correctly diagnosed a leg blood clot that probably saved one family member's life. If you question something she recommends, she'll explain her point of view and not get offended. No God complex here like some doctors have. In addition, her medical assistant, Rhonda, is always warm and welcoming, and I don't believe that I have ever had to wait longer than 15 minutes to be seen. Often, you are called right away at your scheduled appointment time. Most importantly, her bills are generally reasonable. I would recommend Dr. Little without any hesitation. She is very kind and sees patients the same day if they are sick. If you arrive early, she sees you right away. I also like that she doesn't have a stranger in the room typing our conversation. If a stranger were in the room, I wouldn't tell a physician much at all. At least having no one else in the room provides a modicum of privacy, especially during physical examinations. Who wants a stranger examing them? I'm glad it's only Dr. Little. Otherwise, I would refuse a physical examination.

It all started with a pain on my right side. As I was looking for a good internist, a physician recommended Dr. Margaret Little. At the first visit she took the time to talk to me, know my medical history and made me feel extremely comfortable. She ordered a blood test and a CT scan immediately. The results showed a spot on the right lung; the spot was cancerous. That was five years ago; I am alive today due to her diligence. I can't thank her enough. FIVE BIG STARS

She requires monthly “check ins” for refills. As she stated, how else is she suppose to earn money. If you have extra money and extra time she would be the right person. Otherwise, find a competent doctor that is more interested in the wellbeing of his patients and less on making bank of sick people.

Looking for a doctor who .leaves the door open for your appointments, even when you disrobe? Want to have your doctor guess your diagnosis? Always wished for a physician to leave to room at the end of an appointment without informing you that she’ll never be back and the appointment has ended? You’re in luck! Call Dr. Little. This woman should not be in practice. This experience as very discouraging. Grateful I wasn’t sick or in need of care. Scary if this is today’s level of medical care.

Dr. Little has been my primary care physician for over 20 years. During this time, I have found her to be very personable, compassionate and thorough. I appreciate that, as well as the fact that she always takes the time to listen to me. When you aren't feeling your best, I think all of these qualities are very important. I have recommended her to several of my friends over the years and would recommend her to anyone looking for a primary care physician.

Dr. Little takes the time to listen and answer your questions. This was very important in selecting a Primary Care Provider. I do not feel rushed during appointments. At first Dr. Little seems to be a very nice lady. She is soft spoken and calm but she lacks the ability to connect with her patients. When I am with her I feel extremely judged especially when I asked about homeopathic treatment options. She looked at me with a face of disgust like she couldn't believe I didn't want to take the drugs she prescribed. She lacks empathy and seems to be completely uninterested in the lives of her patients. She does not make eye contact and comes across as very cold.
