Dr. Marcus P Schmitz

Dr. Schmitz is a very caring and understanding person. He helped me understand my condition and gave me options before I decided to have surgery. He didn't force me or anything like another Neurosurgeon tried to in Lafayette. He did a wonderful job, Great bedside manners and office staff was very nice as well. I wasn't happy with the physician who was covering for him one weekend. Never showed his face once the entire weekend. Only seen the Nurse checking on me for him. I was so unhappy bt Sunday evening my nurse called Dr. Schmitz and he talked with by phone and was in the hospital early Monday morning to see me. What a great man.

Dr. Schmitz is a great Neurosurgeon. He operated on me when no other Neurosurgeon would operate on me because I only had Medicaid insurance and Im a little heavy. Every other Neurosurgeon Turned me away. I had a 6 level fusion on my back. I can now walk and have lost 25 pounds. I can never thank Dr. Schmitz enough for treating me like human and not an insurance company payment or the size I was. May God Bless You Dr. Schmitz

Dr. Schmitz is an Outstanding Neurosurgeon. My legs are pain free for the very first time in a decade. I could not walk 40 yards, now I can walk an entire mile and the distance keeps growing. His bedside manner is excellent as well, explaining everything that was going to happen and as my recovery progressed how it was coming along. I cannot say enough good about this man!

I met Dr. Schmitz due to an unexpected ER visit and I am so glad he was on call. I couldn't have hand-selected a better doctor. Throughout my situation he kept me informed and was upfront about the potential risks of my surgery. Dr. Schmitz answered all of my questions in a way that was easy for a non-medical professional to understand. He never made me feel rushed or that he was short on time. And I absolutely loved his sense of humor! The outcome of my surgery was an amazing success.

Dr. Schmitz is wonderful and caring. He has the bedside manner of an angel. His staff is friendly and helpful. I was so pleased with my surgery and after care that I will gladly reccomend him to anyone needing his services.

This guy is an idiot in a white coat. If he recommends you have surgery dun away he will cause you pain & suffering!

Staff unfriendly and very unprofessional. Wait time to long. No follow up from doctor. Had trouble getting correct insurance paperwork filled out. Office manager Debbria Smith is very rude and Marryann which is nurse has no clue in how to do her job. STRONGLY advise you look for another physician.

This dr performed surgery on my back last year and I'm already needing another one. I chose him solely on being he could do this quickly. Now I see why his schedule is so open ugh. His front end staff are the most rudest straight out liars I've ever experienced. They will make up lies and fees to prevent performing a second procedure to the patient. Now I'm trying to find a surgeon to clean up His mess but no one wants to see me due to his mess .

I was told 3 days after surgery to get off pain medicine. I have been suffering in pain one of his staff members are rude and nasty. I wonder has she had a 2 level lumbar fusion nope when she does then she can talk to me about pain.
