Great customer service. Friendly and thoughtful. Providers listened attentively, answered all my questions, and made sure I understood options and treatment planning.
Dr. Weinstein is a wonderful, gifted surgeon. The whole staff ( I mostly worked with Carlos & Vanessa) is helpful and kind.
I've been a patient of Dr. W since 2018 when he performed an emergency discectomy/laminectomy on me & most recently, an ALIF spinal fusion. This was a 6.5 hr surgery & the risks/fears were real & valid. He has always been EXTREMELY up front, honest & realistic w/ me from what to expect, how to go about things, what's possible and not possible, etc. He is EXTREMELY knowledgeable & I truly trust him w/ my life. Literally! Forever thankful for him & his staff.
No exam , had me do x rays and didn’t even show them to me . Didn’t go over EMG results that were done by Florida Orthopedic. Tells me I need Physical Therapy and MRI. I took off time from work, lost pay and paid for nothing. The Assistance told me my EMG showed issue in my neck. A Professional doctor would have their staff call and say hey your EMG didn’t look good, lets get a MRI before you come in on your next appointment. I wasn’t there for Medicine, I was there to get the issue fixed. It sad that it all about the money. I left and with in 45 minutes Florida Orthopedic was calling to set up for the physical Therapy. I am getting my records and going to some who will explain my test results, show me my X-rays I had to do, and I pd for. I guess when they say a cured patient is a lost customer it is true. I hope you really think twice before wasting your time. I read the reviews and the goods one popped up first. I also read the others what a mistake I made.
Very efficient, friendly, people. The doctor knew exactly what I needed and I consented to surgery.

I chose Dr. Weinstein for his high degrees, recommendations, and the direction he choses for spinal surgery along with nerve monitoring. It was very disappointing that my surgery was delayed 12 weeks due to Covid-19, then evacuations for Hurricane Ian. No one has control over Mother Nature. However, my surgery 2 months ago appears to be very successful with very little back and no right leg pain. Dr. Weinstein assured me the fusion is proceeding as planned per x-rays. Hopefully expecting even more good news from Dr. Weinstein when I return in March.
Due to health issues I had to have neck surgery on October 28th of 2022.Doctor Weinstein had to fuse a number of cervical discs. It is now the middle of January and I have had no problems. I have another month of recovery and will hopefully will be going back to work at that point. In conclusion Doctor Weinstein and his team have done a great job and I would highly recommend them.
Office staff were all very polite and extremely helpful. Had a 0930 appt and was taken to the patient room at exactly 0930 and the doctor was in to see me within a couple of minutes. Very happy they were as concerned for my time as they were for my health. Very positive experience.
I would highly recommend Dr. Weinstein for any neck or spine issues. He was super thoughtful and consultative in his approach with me demonstrated by the fact if took a few years as a patient of his for him to finally recommend surgery. As we were getting closer to deciding whether or not to do the surgery, he clearly communicated what I might expect if I grew older without having the surgery vs. what the surgery recovery process was and the outcome I could likely expect. Bottom line: I had a great experience with Dr. Weinstein as my spine surgeon. The one negative is that the wait times at FL Ortho could tend to be 1 hour past the appointment time but it was something I was willing to accept in order to get Dr. Weinstein (and his great skills) as my Doc.

Very professional and friendly. Agreed to try the Kryphoplasty. Praying for good results. Thank you Susan
Had lower back pains for a while. Dr. Weinstein held off until the pain was more than I could bear and then fused L4/L5. If you read online reviews about fusion surgery...they are all bad. But Dr. Weinstein must be the exception, because 1.5 months post surgery, my sciatic nerve issues are GONE. Completely. YMMV, but I am VERY pleased with the results. I am still having pain in the surgery area, but hey, they put screws and rods and a cage and who knows what else TSA is going to see in there, so a little post surgery pain is expected. Nothing I cannot handle, and I am even off the pain meds. Doc continues to tell me that some pain may be long term (of course he has to hedge his bets) but at the rate I am going, I am happy with the results and we will see where I am in 6 months with the surgery area pain. Anything is better than what I had, and although my optimism runs high, I am a realist when it comes to medical issues, but doc has done wonders with this procedure. Highly recommend...he has a good staff as well. Attentive and listen to what you have to say. I actually think they are smiling behind their masks. Normally, no one looks forward to doctors visits, but...well, ok, I do not either. What I am looking forward to is telling him at my next visit how much my life has improved due to this surgery. I cannot say enough about what an excellent doctor Dr. Weinstein is! He would not rest until he unturned every stone in finding a definitive diagnosis for me. I felt complete confidence in his skills and knowledge. Dr. Weinstein is highly regarded by the staff at Tampa General Hospital and they freely told me so. Not only is he a skilled surgeon, he also is friendly, compassionate and has a great sense of humor. Dr. Weinstein heard that I was very anxious before my surgical procedure and came to see me before going into the OR. Dr. Weinstein was reassuring and kind. He helped to calm me down and actually had me laughing. I would absolutely recommend him to my family and friends. I cannot say enough about what an excellent doctor Dr. Weinstein is! Impossible to get a hold of anyone in his office. My procedure was cancelled and no one called to inform me. If this is how this place operates then I don’t know if I trust them with my health. It has been over 24 hours and I still have not heard about what is going on. I don’t think anyone knows what they are doing. I had a 3 level spinal fusion after years of injections that prolonged my ability to continue to work. Today was my 1 year mark and although I still have pain, I am able to walk and climb stairs again! Dr Weinstein saved my life because at the time of my surgery I was to the point that I really didn't care if I lived or died. It has been a tough journey but I have gotten my life back and am able to do everyday things that most take for granted! Thank you Dr Weinstein and FOI! I didn't see Dr. Weinstein for my first visit regarding back problems. I saw Ann Gowski, APRN. She was very pleasant.
I had a very good dialogue with the doctor about the path forward on my treatment. That was very much appreciated. BUT...but I found that waiting 40 minutes outside of my scheduled appointment time unacceptable. I did everything that was required of me ahead of time & arrived early. My time is valuable. All I ask is the same respect afforded to you. I'm a stickler on punctuality and....I have things that I need to accomplish outside of the doctor's office. Therefore, only 4 stars. Hello to all that will read this, I would like to start out by saying my back surgery was not your regular lower lumbar back surgery… if there is such a thing. Dr. Mark Weinstein explained everything to me and asked me if I had any questions or concerns. He was to the point with his explanation of what he was going to do, which comforted me knowing that I chose the right Physician for the job. Dr. Mark Weinstein explained to me that the work he was going to do on my back was involved and would require a second orthopedic surgeon. The surgery was actually two different days… One on a Friday and the following Monday. I had originally seen Dr. Mark Weinstein in 2016 and was told surgery was needed then. I ended up holding off because I still had four children at home and that decision ended up putting me in the hospital with diverticulitis. Caused by all the ibuprofen I was taking for pain. After a lot of thought I chose Dr. Mark Weinstein to do my back surgery And I do not Regret it
My first experience was very positive. The dr and his assistant spent over an hour with me. His staff was very friendly and professional. I had been to several other physicians to get more than one opinion. I scheduled surgery with Dr. Weinstein at Tampa General and couldn't feel better about it.
DO NOT use this doctor. Staff is rude. You are just a number.
Ok. So the Doctor doesn't have the best bedside manner. But would you rather some one sugar coat things for you or be honest. Well he was rude and arrogant. But the best doctors are. They dont have time to sugar coat things to make you feel better. Dr. Weinstein is one of the best in my opinion. He had done his best to get me pain free without surgery. After that failed. Surgery it was. He was very compassionate when it came to surgery day. Not the same doctor I first met. After my surgery he was making sure everything was ideal for my recovery. So if you are soft person and can't take upfront honesty then he isnt the doctor for you. If you do what he says you might have the terrific results I have. Ok. Dr. Weinstein is a God sent blessing. Before I went to Dr. Weinstein I had failed surgeries and damaged nerves to my lumbar l-3 thru S-1 and all the doctors whom I asked for opinions on what to do all of them said I was basically stuck with my outcome. I started researching Doctors and decided one more shot and that was Dr. Weinstein. Dr. Weinstein gave me my life back and is a very competent Surgeon with unmatched skills. He is the best of the best and in olympic terms he would be a GOAT, Greatest Of All Times. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Dr. Marc Weinstein, a "neck" dr at Florida Orthopaedic, is the absolute most unprofessional, condescending, rude doctor I have ever met. His PA ordered a test that I jumped through hoops to get. Once in his office, he did not look at or go over the test, did not look to see what the shoulder Dr had written and he was appalled that I wasted his time when the shoulder dr should have addressed pain. Both drs are at Florida Orthopaedic, I have seen both drs, I do what they tell me to, so who is driving this patient plan train? Obviously the cashier. Dr. Weinstein will never be inconvenienced by me again. Florida Orthopaedic has 1 last chance with me, then will find a real dr. Absolutely terrible experience! I was referred to this Dr. by an affiliated orthopedic physician, and college. His response was, “I don’t know why you were referred to me”. The initial PA, was great, and very understanding, but this guy’s pt communication and compassion is non existent! Was obviously aggravated as soon as he walked in, never asked questions, just simply told me that, my “pain level, didn’t meet my physical findings”. Don’t waste your time getting a consult with him unless you have had some horrific, traumatic injury, because he clearly doesn’t care about the comfort of his patients, or long term solutions for injuries. I didn't get to see Dr Weinstein , was unhappy at that, just had short visit with an NP . This is the first time I had a bad visit, could not hear or understand the young lady.
Dr. Weinstein and his staff were amazing. I had my guard up going in to Florida orthopedic because I’ve been to so many doctors before that just treated me like a number. Dr. Weinstein let me ask questions, heard my story, listen to me not just filled me up full of his medical rhetoric. I highly recommend Dr. Weinstein
My first visit with FOI, this was the best medical experience I've had since moving to Florida 4 year ago. Most encounters with other practices have been very disappointing or below average at best. DR Weinstein's NP, Tram Pham, was very helpful and professional.
I was seen by Dr. Weinstein’s Nurse Practitioner, Tram Pham. She was amazing! She was very attentive, thorough and easy to talk to. I highly recommend her. Thank you, Tram Pham!
I really appreciated Dr. Weinstein's nurse practicioner as well as the four months of physical therapy I received. The therapist went above and beyond her job to help me. Cristie Silvers, the therapist is excellent.
I received extremely professional, courteous treatments and service from Dr. Weinstein and his Staff. I have had two epidural steroid injections and my life has returned to almost a normal, pain fee level. I have complete confidence and trust in Dr. Weinstein and would definitely recommend him to my family & friends
Great. Impressed with treatment and his sense of urgency to address my pain. Surgery was successful.
I recently underwent cervical surgery with Dr. Weinstein as my surgeon - Anterior Discectomy and Fusion of C 5/6 and C 6/7 – Dr. Weinstein, his staff, and the staff at Tampa General Hospital – did a phenomenal job caring for me. As soon as I woke up in recovery I could feel immediate relief – I felt no pain and the numbness/tingling/weakness in my right shoulder blade, upper back right arm and hand went away. I am now 3 weeks post op – I have listened to and adhered to the post op care plan outlined by Dr. Weinstein (without experiencing any complications) --- I have been wearing my cervical brace 24/7, working from home, drinking plenty of water, eating a high protein diet, walking outside 1.5 – 2 miles each day – between the exercise, fresh air and sunshine I am feeling great – the best I have felt in months……I would highly recommend Dr. Weinstein for any spinal surgery – as he is a very caring and highly skilled surgeon.
Dr Weinstein performed a complicated two step surgery which included several laminectomies and spinal fusion on my spine from T-11 to S-1 on June 5 and June 8, 2020. Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Neurosurgeon, collaborated with Dr, Weinstein on the second day of surgery. Prior to the surgery I was in a lot of pain and unable to sit, walk or lay down for any period of time due to the pain. The surgery was extremely successful. Now, I am able to sit, lay down and walk (several miles) without nerve pain. The surgery was successful because of two talented surgeons who were able to successfully repair a very damaged spine. Thanks to them, their staffs and Tampa General Hospital Staff.
Took very good care of me, even through all of the Covid scare. Gave me all the information and updates to make me confident about my choice of him as my surgeon. Surgery was a success and I can’t thank him enough. I retired just a couple of years ago and want to do some traveling. My back problems stopped all that. He has given me back the ability to do everything I want to do. THANK YOU DR. WEINSTEIN and your wonderful office and staff!
Would give no stars but it wouldn’t let me. Worst doctor experience. Very rude. He was on his phone the whole time! He didn’t bother to look at my x rays. He gave my mother and I attitude. His office staff had the wrong number on file, and he got upset that we didn’t come back yet they didn’t contact us! My scoliosis has clearly worsened yet he was too busy on his phone to care! Office staff is the worst!!! He's a brilliant surgeon but has subpar insensitive people working for him. He was my surgeon 10 years ago and the surgery changed my life, so when I was hurt again in March naturally I contacted Dr. Weinstein. This time he had a completely different office staff, they were a mess, and he obviously seemed bothered by the work they were doing, because I saw him come to the front desk frustrated trying to check in his own patients, he even asked the staff where his patients were because he was "standing around with nothing to do" unacceptable! His medical assistant is rude, phone always rings and goes to voicemail, and when she does finally answer she's useless and rude! Long story short, I was not doing well after a steroid epidural he gave me, I was in severe pain, I called several times, no answer, finally his assistant called me back 3 days later and told me there was nothing they could do and if my pain was "that" bad I should go to the ER. She spoke to me as if was lying about my level of pain. I wound up getting admitted to the hospital the very next day, where they had to do emergency surgery!! I was hospitalized for 2 weeks. Needless to say, he needs change management ASAP!!!!!!! Office staff is the worst!!! He's a brilliant surgeon but has subpar insensitive people working for him. Had an 8:50 appointment and was not seen until 10:30. After multiple inquiries about time-frame due to overlap with my upcoming work schedule, doctor finally entered the room and was visibly annoyed. I ended up having to reschedule a time-sensitive work meeting involving 20+ people across multiple geographies. If someone had simply informed me about the delayed appointment times, I would have rescheduled my appointment so that I could tend to my work obligations. Instead, I kept being assured that I was "next." The lack of communication and disregard for my time was completely unacceptable. While I understand the nature of this practice's work doesn't always allow for punctuality, a 2-hour miss on appointment time, coupled with dishonest communication tactics, indicates to me that Dr. Weinstein is overbooking in pursuit of revenues, and is not putting his patients first. Moreover, while my (short) appointment was informative, Dr.'s demeanor was unpleasant at best, and he questioned why I was seeking consultation for surgery when it was one of his own colleagues who had referred me to him. He also didn't even look at the MRI that his colleague had ordered for me. While I can't speak to the quality of Dr. Weinstein's work, I can assure you that your time will be wasted. Amazing job on a complicated back surgery. I couldn't walk, sit or sleep. I now have my life back, pain free. Thank you Dr Weinstein and your staff.
Will not be returning. Doctor did not seem interested in the least to listen to condition or review medical records. Spent 5 minutes max.
I was referred to Dr. Weinstein by my orthopedic doctor to treat my back pain. The staff is wonderful. Every visit they are pleasant, helpful and explain every step of the process. Dr. Weinstein needed a new MRI and upon reading it, he noticed an anomaly on my adrenal gland. He expressed his concern and urged me to have it investigated. He gave me injections for the back pain and for the first time in years I am pain free. His concern for my total well-being really impressed me. I am very grateful.
He has helped me through two different back issues. Will always take his time with you. He is Very knowledgeable. He tells you like it is and what he can do for you. He does all his own procedures to include injections. He doesn't farm you off to pain management. Love him and will always recommend him.
It took me nearly 5 months - 2 appointments with the nurse practitioner, Xrays, Bloodwork, MRI, and follow up Nuclear Bone Scan - to see the actual "doctor". He was over an hour late (newsflash - my time is just as important!), was rude, and condescending, and obviously over booked. He asked me questions, yet cut me off while speaking. I have several bulging discs that are pressing on nerves, causes immense chronic pain in both my back and my right leg. He said "I have the back of a 40 year old - everyone has bulging discs at your age". I spent a total of less than 5 minutes with him. It was 5 minutes too long. When he abruptly left the room -- as he was done -- for the first time in my 59 years of age, I told the nurse he lacked total bedside manners and called him a curse word!. If I could leave zero stars...I would.
Recently went in with MRI documented spinal injuries and nerve damage causing years worth of pain and mobility issues, full of hope for a tangible long term solution and all I got was 3 minutes of snide remarks, constant interruptions to my questions, lectured for attempting to do my own research and be my own health care advocate, and then rudely dismissed by a doctor whose comments made it painfully obvious that he hadn't even glanced at my patient file, prior physician notes, or recent MRI images. And he wants to do surgery on me? If you can't speak to me like a person and look at me when you address me, how can I ever trust you to cut me open and start chiseling away at my spine? Im sorry, but I just don't think so. It makes sense now as to why they collect the fees prior to being seen. Who would ever agree to pay for that kind of poor medical service?
I had an appointment with Dr. Weinstein this morning. I was examined by his student aid which recommended a cortisone shot. The student left the office to discuss his recommendations with the Dr. When he returned with the Dr., the Dr. asked what my symptoms were. I explained that my right side of my neck and shoulder hurt. He said which one hurts, the neck or the shoulder, it can't be both. He was rude, spoke in a condescending manner, and implied that he didn't believe me when I told him my symptoms. He told me there was nothing more he can do for me, except surgery. His description of the surgery was like he was speaking to a dog. He said I have a bone spur on the herniated disc, which is the first time I heard this. When I questioned him about this, he said that the Nurse practioner wrote it in her notes from my first visit. He was so unprofessional, insensitive and a poor example of a specialist. I will never return to see him.
After two failed spine surgeries, a laminectomy & a fusion, by a surgeon at a minimally invasive, get your life back promises institute, I was in ever increasing pain. When I told that surgeon I was still in pain, the response was "You shouldn't be." Unable to accept a life on pain medication & foregoing the joys of life, I saw Dr. Weinstein. The MRI revealed my lower spine had partially fused-the hardware was placed so that my pelvis was tilted to the right & rotated. Dr. Weinstein was honest with me & didn't promise an improvement because my spine was partially fused in that position but said he'd do his very best. He also discovered that the head of one of the screws had fallen off (it was of a type he does not recommend). I trusted him and he performed a miracle. I will never be 100%, but after a few months of recovery, I have greatly reduced the pain medication, I'm resuming some of my hobbies & I'm loving life again. Dr. Weinstein truly gave me back my hope & my life. Trust him!
Neck and arm issues due to discs. Pain has been around for months, so got MRI and made appointment. While Dr. Weinstein is direct, he took time to talk and describe and was professional. People may mistake his approach for abrupt, but didnt feel that way. HPpy with visit.
Dr. Weistein had a positive attitude, a great sense of humor and excellent bedside manner. I felt very comfortable with him.
Dr. Weinstein is very professional, extremely knowledgeable and a good listener. He was able to surgically fix my spine (my 3rd surgery, but 1st with him). He does his own diagnostic injections, which I think is very smart and helpful. My surgery was almost 3 years ago, but since then, I've been very active and relatively pain free. My spine held up even after a VERY hard fall from a horse (fractured & displaced collar bone, multiple ribs, partially collapsed lung). If/when my back fails again, I hope he is still available to help. (About me: Runner & equestrian, born 1972, scoliosis and transitional vertebrae.)
Doctor did a great job with instructions and follow up. Office staff has been great. I felt better the minute I woke up from surgery. Than before

Absolutely the worst doctor I've ever seen. It's just an elderly patient mill there. I had an open MRI of my neck after a car accident and saw him afterward and for his opinion..."Do I need surgery?" He throws the report down and says, "I can't tell, this is an open MRN. That's useless, you need a closed MRI". So I'm charged $3,000 for HIS closed MRI, and when I show up for the follow up visit and ask, "Do I need surgery?" He says "I'm a surgeon, what do you think I'm going to say?" and only after being pressed does he say, "Patients get surgery when they just can't stand the pain any more". Did I really need a second MRI for that opinion. No, I it didn't look any different than the open MRI, and he didn't tell me he saw anything different. Better pass on this guy. I have SLE (Lupus), Thyroid disease, APS, OA in both Knees and have already had 1 ACDF surgery. So needless to say I see my fair share of doctors. And I'm not afraid to admit because of my chronic pain I suffer from severe fatigue and anxiety/depression disorder. I saw this doctor yesterday because pain, burning, headaches, tingling...and he made me feel as though this is funny. I have pain medication I refuse to take until bedtime because I don't want to get addicted and use it to "live". He has no idea how to understand that the way you treat patients impacts them. I am normally nervous when seeing a new doctor but I left this office literally in tears. The receptionist was extremely nice and offered me some water even because she saw how upset I was. He talked at me, didn't really explain much, talked and thought things were funny to his new NP. Will not go back. I'd rather take pain pills than have someone so un-compassionate and condescending treat me as though I am a number. The daily pain may be no big deal to him but it's very real for me. Just wish my husband, that sees me fight everyday, was with me. He might have changed his attitude. It's easy to make the one in pain feel less worthy but not the ones that love them and know how hard they fight through it everyday. Maybe get to know your new patients and listen to them. Hope someone he loves never has to feel the way he made me feel. I have SLE (Lupus), Thyroid disease, APS, OA in both Knees and have already had 1 ACDF surgery. I saw Dr. Baker several years ago for a shoulder that was dislocated, cracked and torn rotary cuff! I was a big mess! I seriously never thought I would recover. HE WORKED WONDERS! Today, I have full motion, 100 percent perfect! He did extensive research until he found the perfect solution! He made sure everything was perfect! Please, if you EVER need an orthopedic surgeon, I recommend Dr. Baker 110 percent. I drive way across town because he is the best! Thank you Dr. Baker for my full recovery! I fell and bruised my knee really bad yesterday, and once again he was there for me. Keep up the good work!!! Worst physician I have ever saw. Terrible bed side manner. I was a new patient. He didnt even welcome me by shaking my hand. Very arrogant and could care less about the pain I was in and I left in tears. NEVER even looked at my neck or back to see the swelling. The staff was very nice. I will go back but I will NEVER see Weinstein again. He is the worst Doctor I have ever experienced. And he speaks to you in a demeaning tone. A physician should make you feel comfortable. He is TERRIBLE!!

I see many different doctors due to SLE, Thyroid disease, OA and cervical and lumbar issues. Had ACDF C5-C6 2 years ago. Burning pain, headaches tingling in my arm and crunching sound in my neck again. I'm overwhelmed with all my issues and pain. This doctor made me feel horrible yesterday. I'm use to dealing with doctors most are compassionate but some just aren't....and he's one. I left his office in tears simply because I felt he was making fun of something that is very real to me.
Had a 9:00 am follow-up surgical appointment but by 11:15 am I still had not seen the doctor, so I left the building. Appointments historically run 1 to 1.5 hours late!!! My time's valuable too.
Adequate medical care. Capable surgeon but continually postpones date of procedure; this seems to indicate he ignores the totality of patient's life.
Hands down since my accident This has been the most un caring nasty disrespectful Doctor I have ever encountered very sad experience I would not recommend anyone to deal with people that don't care smh

Do NOT see this man if you want to be heard. He did not listen, was rude, spoke in a condescending manner, and asserted that he didn't believe me. Other doctors, who are more informed about my spinal condition, know that the pain is not "in my head". He did not want to learn, he only wanted to order more expensive tests, to try to fit my condition into a label he could understand. He is not trustworthy. I recently moved to this area, and will continue my search for the right doctor.

I had a disk replacement between c3&4. I suffered severely with pain for over 10 years. The last 3 to 4 years I was dependent on pain meds in order to keep from killing myself, that's how bad the pain was. I needed help fast and it seemed like everywhere I went was a waste of time and money. Thank god I'm feeling better now no thanks to dr Weinstein and the Florida orthopedic inst. He was rude to me and acted as if I was wasting his time. The reality is he doesn't know how to read an MRI.
Waited 2 1/2 hours for MRI results that were already in my possession. He told me the MRI results were insignificant even though the report clearly defined problems. He was an unprofessional insensitive jerk that spent less than 5 minutes in the room with me. Then proceeded to tell me there was nothing he could do for me, try more physical therapy. I am extremely disappointed and would never recommend him to anyone.

Very knowledgeable. Answered all my questions without reservation. Uses a conservative approach, wants his patients to get better, but does not push surgery on them if not warranted. Gives you the facts and does not sugar coat things or make empty promises. If you are looking for someone to help you surgically. Don' t listen to theses other reviews. He is a great surgeon. He may not always crack jokes with you, but are you looking for someone to cut up with, or someone who has great surg skills
