Absolutely worthless doctor. He does not listen to anything you say. Refuses to do a physical exam on his patients. Admitted he only relys on the referring doctors findings. He says everything is diet related. Even after symptoms don't change.

Dr. Guram told me my symptoms were because of my diet even though I eat quite well and nothing changed for my diet to suddenly cause all of these problems. He put me on a new diet which I did for 2 months and kept getting worse. Colonoscopy was ordered and he didnt even see me until 3 hours after I was scheduled. When my results were "normal" he said nothing was wrong with me and since I am young my body will heal itself. He also said stop eating salads because it is cattle food.

This doctor's overall rating of 2.6 out of 5 is horrible. I wish I would have read his reviews before taking my 93 y.o. mother to him. Her MRI was in early Sept. and on 11-9-21 I'm still trying to get the results. People at his office are extremely rude especially Josette who yelled at me today and was very unprofessional. According to these reviews I see this happens often in his office, now I wonder if he is the one who is setting the tone of how his office staff interacts with patients. I've tried to get these results and now I'm determined this will happen. I cannot wait to make several other calls to report this doctor and his staff. Also will definitely be reporting to several of the insurances they deal with as well as Medicare plus my mother' insurance co. I love to complete surveys and having worked in a professional setting for years I know the value of survey results. I've been taking great notes when I deal with this office. Dr Gurham is fired this week 09/2021 due to an inadequate office staff. I have been waiting over 2 months to send me bloodwoek orders to take to Quest. I've called every week to let them know I've still not received them & every time I'm told somebody already put it in the mail. A dr is only as good as his staff!

Ready for a scheduled procedure at 8. He strolled in at 830, did not have post procedure visit with my wife and was not in the office for the follow up visit two weeks later. He is not getting a Christmas card!

He did not even properly examine me, scheduled me for colonoscopy and liver ultrasound with my complaint that was not related. Did my colonoscopy and did not fix my issues even though said he could. When he talked to my husband after, he said 2 sentences and walked away not allowing any questions. All this in front of a room full of people. I strongly do not recommend! Scheduled an EGD for 9:00 am. I arrived at the hospital at 8:45am. At 11:15, I had the nurse remove the iv from my arm and left. The anesthesiologist told me there were still 2 ahead of me. The nurse tried to tell me that 9am didn't really mean 9am. Another nurse said Dr Guram is always running late. I was disabled by a Dr that was only in it for the money. Scheduled way too many procedures. Made a mess of my surgery. I'm not going for that again. I should have known when I visited his office his NP said he wouldn't be able to see me so she handled the visit. Said he was at the hospital with an emergency. I feel sorry for him if he really needs the money that badly but that's a dangerous way to make it.

Waited over 3 hours to see him for consult. He rushed me- didn’t listen at all. Consult lasted less than 5 minutes. Then, For the procedure I waited for an hour and a half for him to show up to my colonoscopy.

When I doubt read the reviews! I wish I could give no stars. I’ve waited over three weeks for an appointment for which I consider urgent. My PCP and referral department sent me here which means they verified my insurance for me. Called set up an appointment gave over all my insurance information. Received appointment reminders via text and calls. ONLY for the DAY of my appointment after waiting over three weeks I receive a voicemail saying my appointment was canceled. I lost money and wasted time and now I have to go through this process elsewhere! Please save yourself the time and energy. If you were referred ask for another referral. Extremely unprofessional!!! Dr. Guram performed two colonoscopies with poor results (unable to remove several polyps with his two attempts over 12 months) and then referred me to a surgeon. That was scary and worrisome so I waited a year and had another gastroenteritis preform the same procedure that was successful in the removal of the three remaining polyps and thus prevented the potential major surgery. An unnecessary major life changing surgery was averted. I would rate my experience with him as unforgiving, inexcusable and well below par.

He overbooks his appointments all the time with all his patients. Expect to wait at least an hour before being seen. To top it off. They shuffle you off to his assistant and your chances of seeing a doctor is slim at best. You don't have to take my word schedule an appointment and think about this review while you are waiting and waiting to be seen. Even if you have hours of your life to waste don't do it here! My spouse has been on three appointments and still hasn't seen the doctor and waited over an hour each time to be seen. Also, if you go ahead and schedule an appoint while your waiting listen to the others customers in the waiting room arguing with the help over extended waiting periods and inappropriate billing. You don't have to do anything but sit and listen you will have plenty of time, then you will see for yourself...…….

2 visits and 2 times a complete waste of time. This Doc doesn't care or listen to a patient one bit. Get in pay , wait forever to have 2 min him telling you nothing. I asked questions he gave me snippy answers. Do yourself a favor and find someone else perhaps someone who cares enough to listen for more then 1 min.

This doctor is HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE bedside manner, snippy, unprofessional, has no compassion (makes me wonder how he even got in medicine), is indifferent when it comes to truly providing a patient or patient's family with education of a newly grave diagnosis. As a medical provider, I would think we should have some sense of compassion and this man, has none. An embarrassment for medical providers, who actually practice medicine with compassion and who are truly interested in our patient's OVERALL well being, as a whole. I have 2 one star reviews. #1 I got a call from them saying my primary physician referred me to them and after asking to make sure they were on my insurance, they said yes and made an appointment for a consult. I took off half a day, missed half a day pay and had to pay someone to cover for me. I also had to pay my $50 copay to them. The day before the colonoscopy I started the $75 prescription cleanse. I got a call at 10:30am from his office saying they were not on my insurance and needed to cancel the colonoscopy. In short, they cost me about $400 missed pay, wasted prescription and most importantly time! I had to start over with a new doctor, and everything went so great with Dr. Copeland. My complaint is they keep billing me for $450 even after talking to their accounting department and explaining to them this same description of THEIR mistake with each bill they send me...this has been going on for a year! I am still getting bills when he cost me more and did nothing, but a fraudulent consult! My second one star review is that my dad is 82 and nearly died and has been having numerous surgeries and problems since May. It is difficult to get my dad out and my sister and I like to make his numerous dr appointments back to back one or two times a week to keep him from getting over strained. Dr. Guram would not give us his colonoscopy results over the phone so we scheduled a 1:00 appointment with him and then dad had a 3:15 with another dr. We explained the situation (of which they should have already known after 7 months of seeing him.) They said the 1:00 appt would be quick and give him plenty of time to walk across the hall to his 3:15 appt. By 3:00 they still had not seen dad and he had to go to his next appointment. So he missed his colonoscopy results, they wont tell us by phone (even though we offered to pay for a regular visit.) His staff can be rude, but most of all they are not cohesive, practical, empathetic, accurate or efficient. I've been seeing Dr. Guram for several years and considered him a good doctor, not necessarily a great doctor, but just my opinion. BTW, my wife started seeing him as well about two years. Unfortunately we both suffer from ???, as he has never given a precise name or diagnosis. We've been on restricted diets, testing up the ying yang (No pun intended). I got some relief a couple of weeks ago when I stumbled across the fact that the metformin I was taking was causing distress. At the same time G uram had me in for an ultrasound of the abdomen where they found a mass growing on my kidneys ( this is like 2-3 years after my first complaints and visits to see him). At that point he punts responsibility over to my urologist as he thinks it's kidneys. Urologist sends me for cat scan. Results come back as colon infection. Back to Guram After several calls to his office they tell me he wants me to double up the probiotic and come and see him in three weeks. I will be seeing a doctor in 3 weeks, but it won't be him. My wife has had enough as well. If your smart you will stay away from this guy. I can't even call him a doctor any more. My son returned from college with abdominal pain. We went and saw Dr. Guram over a period of several visits. He performed a colonoscopy at the associated hospital. His diagnostic was that my son had Crohn's disease. He suggested further testing (in ex Endoscopy) but the insurance refuse to pre-approve it. I called the insurance and they said there are some basic tests he needs to perform to show that Endoscopy is necessary, otherwise he needs to call the insurance doctor and explain why that is necessary. I spoke with the assistants and they said the doctor would never call the insurance. Every time we called we were sent from one person to another and no one seemed to be interested or know what was going on. They also said we should pay from our pocket for the tests if the insurance doesn't pay. All this took several months and Dr. Guram has already put my son on Corticosteroids treatment. I took my son to another doctor for a second opinion. He just pulled up on the computer the results of all the tests from the hospital where my son had the colonoscopy. He looked at them, then ordered one more blood test that was done while we waited. He said that there is no sign of Crohn's disease! Also, he said that the treatment given by Dr. Guram was very dangerous as it creates dependency Off the records he said he could not imagine why Dr. Guram wanted to run all these tests unless he just wants to bill the insurance. He said my son had a bad deficiency of vitamins, specially B. He gave him a shot, a prescription for vitamins and reduced his dosage for the pills Dr. Guram prescribed because he said we can not cut them at once. Three weeks later we followed up. By then my son had no more pain and he was eating anything he wanted. I would never ever go back to him ever! My son returned from college with abdominal pain. Dr. Guram has forgotten me in the examination room, has not sent an important report to another GI to whom he sent me for a balloon endoscopy, has recommended biologics treatment in a taper-down strategy (which you cannot do w/ biologics) and just generally doesn't seem to have a clear plan of action or good understanding of Crohn's. I plan early morning appointments on purpose but still wait an hour or more to see him. Now I have an $8k bill for a recent unwarned out-of-network scope pathology.

I would highly recommend Dr. Guram! I recently seen a new Ob/Gyn Dr. Jennifer Nguyen in Spring and had a horrible experience! I'm so happy to see that there are some great doctors left. Many of them should learn from Dr. Guram regardless of their specialty. 1. He greeted me and introduced himself. 2. He patiently listened to all of my concerns without speaking over me or rushing my visit. 3. He told me his thoughts on my concerns. Then, shared what he recommended and most importantly asked if I had any questions. It was like a well written essay: an attention getter, introduction, the body with the main points and the great transitions. Then a perfect conclusion! I give you an A+ Dr.Guram :) for best gastroenterologist! I would highly recommend Dr. Guram! I recently seen a new Ob/Gyn Dr. Jennifer Nguyen in Spring and had a horrible experience!
