We were supposed to have a check up meeting after he had not prescribed medication the first session to speak to my therapist. We scheduled a meeting and the office did not follow up with me, when I called they had no confirmation of me going or my email or my phone number which I had given to them. They told me they would send me an email before the time of our call and I never heard anything. I couldn’t find his email and called the office 10+ times to no response. So unprofessional, and unhelpful. Would not recommend for your teenage who needs help.

Dr. Selassie is professional, extremely knowledgeable and very understanding. I have been a patient for over 15 years and highly recommend this psychiatrist. He understands and listens to you, offering advice and recommendations to ease whatever may be troubling you.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Selassie’s for many years. I came to his care after a recommendation from a friend. It was a difficult time for me. I was new to Washington DC and the thought of needed to find a new doctor was daunting. I’m grateful to have found a doctor who is caring, empathetic, and truly listens to my concerns.

He is very attentive to my individual life and has been one step ahead of my own thoughts on things.

Very good doctor but not good at returning calls. Relies on staff to relay important communications which results in data being lost or misconstrued. Does not like complex cases or smart complicated people.

This man decides who he would like to treat. Needing help and getting rejected by a psychiatrist! Not even a recommendation. How about that?

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Selassie. He is smart, thorough and patient. After many years of seeing doctors, he is the only one who paid attention enough to diagnose my sleep apnea. Praise God - this treatment changed my life!!!! Praying for God's continued blessings on Dr. Selassie.

Dr. Selassie, was highly recommended by our family GP and has proven to be the greatest asset to his patient and the family who champions. Dr. Selassie encourages hope for the future which is especially vital for young patients. Patients are listened to with great care and when allowed, their families are encouraged to be participate in supporting them. The doctor, patient, family team has worked very well for us. I was a patient of Dr. Selassie for many years. He did run late most of the time. Please be fair to the doctors everywhere, the patients are late for their appointments or / and the patients “HOG” the doctor’s time. I always left his office feeling and thinking I can conquer my challenges. I stop going to see Dr. Selassie because I moved to another state. I hope my thoughts help.

I felt great while under his care and terrible when l had to find another Doctor . I wish him well.

Dr. Selassie consistantly runs late. Typical wait time is between 45 minutes to 1 hour.

After seeing him for many years he dropped my insurance provider with two weeks notice after telling me a few days prior that he’ll see me in 4 weeks. Try finding a provider excepting new patients with openings in a two week period. Very unprofessional and unethical. Not a way to treat patients.

Wonderful and caring. takes the time to really talk with my son about his feelings, needs, meds, as well as to build a relationship with him chatting about soccer. Listens to my sons concerns about his meds and asks follow up clarification questions.

Dr. Selassie has been my doctor for 15 years. He is kind, caring, and a good listener. He also has a good sense of humor. Most importantly, he is an excellent clinician.

I saw Dr. Selassie for a number of years. I was troubled and that wasn't his fault. However when I had a very bad breakdown, he proved himself to be cold and unsympathetic. He prescribed me Lithium and was very cold and didn't explain it. I was stunned he wanted to prescribe such an intense medication and ceased our professional relationship. Since breaking our communication, I've found a therapist whose amazing and a new psychiatrist who doesn't try and sedate me against my will

Experienced, compassionate and very skilled. Dr. Selassie is a doctor who focuses foremost on what is best for each individual patient. I hardly ever write reviews, but I have tremendous confidence in this doctor.

An excellent psychiatrist for both adults, teenagers and children of both sexes. He takes his time and offers practical wellness suggestions along with appropriate medication(s). He is very skilled at his craft and takes all types of insurances. He is very concerned about his patients and always follows up during a crisis or hospitalization.

Horrible. Arrogant and unethical

I have to say I was floored. I heard so many good things about Dr. Selassie that I thought it couldn't be true. The three other psychiatrists I've seen were all about numbers and had no emotion to them. Selassie cares. And he showed so much emotion and professionalism. 10/10
