About Dr. Mahendra Natwerlal Patel
Reviews for Dr. Mahendra Natwerlal Patel
This doctor is not a physician, he is a greedy businessman. He is arrogant and his office soooooooooo rude and low class.
The office staff and doctor are so amazing! I called at 4:30 and Sandra could tell I wanted to get appointment ASAP. She said can you come in tonight at 5:30? I didn't know what to say except for YES!!! Once I got to the office I emailed Sandra my previous test results and 10 minutes later the doctor was going over the results with me. Dr. Patel is such a caring doctor and he took so much time to answer all my questions. I truly am "Blessed" to have Dr. Patel and his staff on my side!! The office staff and doctor are so amazing! Dr. Patel: Worst possible GI Doctor to go too! Been hospitalized twice while under his care. Had appointments scheduled weeks in advance, canceled by the doctor on day of appointment, and then rescheduled two months later. If you manage to actually get a appointment with him he doesn't talk to you to offer solutions, but instead trys to finish the appointment as soon as he can. If you call the office to ask the Dr about your concerns with your issue or medication, they will not followup regarding your concerns. DO NOT be a patient for Dr. Patel.
Had a really bad experience with this guy Patel, very dissapointed.
Cancelled 5 appointments making them phone appointments and never once called in a 6 month period for my daughter. Worst Dr on this Planet.
I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience was not great. After looking at other reviews, I wanted to share some concrete points for other people. I have only been to this office once, and have decided I will not be going back. The first thing I would like to say is the receptionist were very professional and kind. They were incredibly busy making phone calls and handling faxes. When patients came in, temperatures were taken and masks were required. Even though I forgot my insurance card, they were able to work with a photo that I had. I appreciated the gesture, however after waiting over 90 minutes, I know I could have driven home and returned with my insurance card. When other patients walked in and asked for the wait time, they answered honestly(45-60 minutes) and allowed a phone appointment instead. This allowed the other patients to leave and avoid waiting in the reception area with 5-7 other people. Once I was finally called back, I waited for about 15 minutes for Dr. Patel to enter. He looked at my information and then realized he did not have everything. He left the room to retrieve more information and then returned. We discussed my situation for about a minute, then he seemed happy to dismiss me. I was the one to bring up his previous concerns. At the mention of these concerns, he tells me that I must have him confused with another Doctor. I know that I was not confused because I had specifically written his name down after I initially met him. He had made an impression. He had been the specialist that I was required to see before being discharged from the hospital. I specifically remember waiting for him for 2 days. I specifically remember his bedside manner being dry and impersonable. I had to ask questions as he seemed to be very busy and in a rush (like most doctors). I cannot speak to his diagnosing ability or treatment, as I experienced neither. I was instructed to return to this office if I experienced the similar issues that landed me in the hospital. However, I will not be returning. I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience was not great. After looking at other reviews, I wanted to share some concrete points for other people. Staff has a diffeciency in providing basic communication skills and answering questions. Almost on the verge of being Rude. Didn't get or feel the right feeling when you are visting a doctor for the first time.

The office has canceled my appointment on me 4 times since April and less than 24 hours warning each time. Horrible work ethic and so unapologetic. Wish there was another office to go to. WHAT IF MY PROBLEM WERE AN EMERGENCY. ID BE DEAD BY NOW!!
This surgery center was very professional from front desk to the back surgery room. The staff was very attentive and talked me through everything every step of the way. There were a few little misunderstandings in the phone calls from the surgery center pre OP but it all worked out just fine. Would Never
Can I give zero stars? His bedside manor is the worst ever experienced. He doesnt care how much pain you are in. He just wants to get paid and go on vacation. He should be ashamed and has no problem violating the hippocratic oath. Be warned!
Stacked appointments, crowded waiting room for one doctor. He laughed when I told him that I was feeling anxious and uncomfortable. Contradicted me when I spoke. Condescending attitude. I'm female and was alone at the appointment.
He is very dry and to the point. Not personable at all. I found communication to be very uncomfortable with him.

ALWAYS straight to the point
I’ve been seeing Dr. Patel for over two years, he has done an excellent job of diagnosing , treating and curing my condition.I’ve been hospitalized a few times he’s always shown up with concern and interest to help me. I’ve made calls into his office with questions, he’s always returned them. I highly recommend him he’s caring & very kind. THANK YOU!!!
My daughter was at Simi Valley Hospital for almost week to have her gallbladder out. She was supposed to be released on the Saturday after her surgery (surgery was Wednesday). We were waiting for his approval to let her leave and he never showed up over the weekend. It’s monday at 6:05 pm and she still hasn’t been released because Dr Patel hasn’t shown up!! She’s a teenage girl who has been through so much and being stuck in a hospital because a doctor doesn’t feel like showing up.

I have never met a dr that cared less.
I'm very surprised to see lower ratings for Dr Patel. Dr Patel has been my GI doctor for 5+ years. He treats me for ulcerative colitis, including during pregnancy. He is always very thorough without making me feel panicked when something is off (such as blood test results). He is very understanding and takes his time explaining answers to all my questions (once even drawing me a picture for clarity). I would recommend him to friends and family every time!
This is probably the worst Dr I have ever seen. He really doesn't care about his patients at all. Waiting months for appointment. Tests for one thing. If that's negative. Forget looking elsewhere. Begging for tests. Waiting months. After test waiting weeks for results. Email results with no explanation. Finally an appointment and given otc drugs. How about doing that in first place. Suffered for nothing. Maybe not malpractice but certainly zero care. If it was serious, I would be dead!
Dr. Patel was recommended to me by the former head of the hospital GI dept. I can see why. He was very knowledgeable and through. He accommodated my request to go through a colonoscopy with no meds. He was very skilled and there was very little discomfort and I was able to go right back to work. I would highly recommend Dr. Patel.
Dr Patel has been my Gi for over 7 yrs and i have recomended him to family and friends staff is great they have always helped me in getting me in soon and with my medications i am surprised with the ratings on this website
I am so surprised to see the average to negative ratings for Dr. Patel. He has always been patient answering my questions and explaining details about my visit to his office. As for his front office, they have always been pleasant. If I were to find any fault with the office staff it is that a couple times, follow through on requesting a new medication to my insurance company has been slow. Other than that, I am very pleased with the service I have received.
