Dr. Maha Zikra

Update: We have now been forced to bring suit again Dr. Zikra in Federal Court Florida Middle District for the violations against the Social Security Act and discrimination. Dr. Zikra now admits her wrong doings and that copays and deductible were wrongly charged. Dr. Maha Zikra has been unlawfully billing my Autistic Daughter for services that have already been paid. We have told her that her billing is wrong and illegal but she continues to harass our daughter. She even went so far as to coerce her into signing a statement saying that she would pay all amounts billed by Dr. Zikra. Unconscionable unethical behavior. Beware.

Truly one of the worst doctors experiences I’ve ever had. She made me cry. I will never be going back there. Dr. Zikra was so rude to me I ended up crying and walking out. First off, she doesn’t take the time to listen to you. She rushes through your appointment and doesn’t even listen to your thoughts or symptoms. I told her I have a swollen lump on my neck that has been causing me pain for a couple weeks, and she said “no it’s not it’s not causing you pain, you’re just thinking about it too much.” What??? How does she know if I’m in pain??? She wouldn’t do an ultrasound to look at the lump and said she wasn’t concerned even though I had paperwork from a previous ultrasound that stated I needed another ultrasound check up on it. She wouldn’t. She then gave me bloodwork only for TSH, when I asked for a complete thyroid panel to compare to my previous blood work since I have prior thyroid issues, she refused and said “YOU want that, I don’t” even though all of my previous doctors told me I needed a full panel. I pleaded to her multiple times and she said “You go to Macy’s, you pick out your own dress there, you come here, you listen to me and my expertise.” LIKE WHAT???? I’ve never had a doctor speak to me like this before, it was horrible!!! Please do yourself a favor and do not go to this doctor. I went to another doctor the next day and told him my symptoms and he was so concerned and gave me the proper blood work and ultrasounds to find out what is wrong. Just save your time and health and don’t go to this woman.

I've had Type 1 Diabetes for over 56 years. That being said I've seen many endocrinogists. By far Dr. Maha Zikra is the BEST!!!

Dr. Zikra office staff is wonderful, very caring and attentive! Dr. Zikra is a great doctor she knew right away what was wrong and gave and immediate solution. I am really glad to have chosen her as my doctor!

Dr. Zikra has definatey changed my life for the better since I began seeing her. She and her staff are always attentive and accommodating. Dr. Zikra has always taken the time to listen, explain medications and provide treatment methods to improve my health.

I am so blessed to have had dr. Zikra as my doctor for many years. She is so detailed, kind and caring. I am so very surprised at the very few reviews that are so negative. I am not exaggerating when I say this was the best medical visit I've had in years! The staff was so helpful and courteous from the start. By the time I entered the exam room Dr. Zikra had already reviewed all of my labs and scans. She immediately put me at ease. She then took her time to explain the details of my condition, went over the proper use of my medications and set me up for follow-up care. I felt heard and well taken care of and never felt rushed.

Finally I found a great Endocrinologist who listens to you, caring and passionate doctor, very knowledgeable, such a quality very hard to find these days, and staff are very helpful and friendly. Even if their schedule is full for many weeks, you will not regret waiting.

Best doctor I have ever been to and the kindest staff. Dr. Zikra is truly a God sent, she is so incredibly knowledgeable and will spend as much time as needed to treat you. She is so compassionate and patient and my obmy regret is that I didnt come to her sooner.

I saw Dr Zika a few years ago. I needed help adjusting my thyroid medication and she said she could help me. The first visit was good and she requested additional information which I brought to my second visit. After waiting almost two hours at the second visit I asked how much longer I could expect to wait.I was told that I should allow sufficient time when I came for an appointment and that I could reschedule. The doctor came in for a couple minutes and then told me to come back when I had time. I did return. Dr Zikra looked at my information and told me to return for my next visit in a few months. I asked about medication changes and she ignored me. So she never addressed the reason I went to see her. Today, four years later, I received a call that it is time to schedule my follow up appointment.

Since 2002 I have been with Dr. Zikra. My life has changed under her care as she monitored my diabetes. My life has been better because of her attention to detail and her care for my well-being. She monitors not only my diabetes, but my overall health, the reaction my body as to medication, what's working and what is not. I had the opportunity to visit for the first time Dr. Zikra. I was not disappointed. She is very caring and knowledgeable. She really does care about her patient. I would definitely encourage anyone in search of an Endocrinologist to check with Her.

We had only been there once, thuscannot speak of her professional skills. But her attitude is rude and her pace is rushed. This doctor make you feel unwelcome the moment you step into her office, and all questions got cut off before finishing.

Dr. Zikra has helped me manage my uncontrolled diabetes and got my A1C lower than it has ever been. Her staff is always welcoming and actually listen to what I have to say. They accommodate my schedule - which is hard to come by lately.

I went to her because I had a ball on my right thyroid which turned out to be a nodule on the right side of my thyroid along with 2 cysts on the least side. I went for a total thyroidectomy. I made an appointment to see Dr. Zikra 1 week after my surgery which her office scheduled as a FaceTime appointment. During the appointment she then asks me to remind her who I am then asks me what my surgeon said. She starts asking me if my nodule was cancerous and I told her yes, she asked what stage it was in, she asked how big the nodule was, she didn’t know anything about my case. She didn’t even look at my chart to see who I was. She then tells me that she doesn’t want to send me for a ultrasound to check my lymph nodes to see if the cancer spread and she doesn’t want to put me on radio active iodine. I asked if I can go back to work and she said you know your body better then me so if you feel ok then go back to work. Extremely unprofessional!!!!

I have been a patient of Doctor Zikra for several years. In addition to Diabetes i also suffer from MS and Heart Disease. I have found Doctor Zokra to be amazing. She has helped me get my Diabetes under control through a balance of medications, diet and exercise. She is always careful and focus on having me take medications that have a cardiac benefit as well. Recently the insurance company refused to fill a prescription. I called the office after hours just to leave a message. To my amazement the doctor answered the phone, took the time to listen to my concerns and immediately connected with Cigna to rectify the situation. I was alerted that my prescription was filled within an hour of having spoken with the doctor. Amazing service.

I'm 95% sure, Dr. Maha should be investigated, and her doctors license should be revoked.

This place is weird….. She said it cost money to numb my tattoo???? I had the worst experience ever . I had to cancel my appointment because personal issues (Covid related ) and they told me they will charge me $50 fee and I have to look for another doctor because they won’t tolerate it. I explained my situation but nobody cares there . I requested to speak to the manager and it was so rude . The doctor always pushy and rude . Didn’t let me talk and gave me the worst medication . Stay away from this doctor. She is very unprofessional. On my first visit they didn't bother to weigh me or check my blood pressure. I sent my records via email and they never acknowledged it. Dr zikra was unpleasant to see, very pushy and rude. Didn’t listen to anything I had to say and gave me the totally wrong dose that almost landed me an ER visit. Front desk staff is nice though. Most of the good reviews in here are fake I’ve noticed

Doctor and nurses are kind and attentive with patients. We didn’t experience any “drug-pushing” as some others have said on here; they were quite the opposite. They refused to give my father any medications before having his blood tests and his ultrasound done and also accepted how he stopped being pre-diabetic through more natural means. My biggest qualm with this practice is the condescending attitude of the receptionists. They work in healthcare where there a large variety in age, ethnicity, and language spoken by their patients. If you can’t stand having someone ask a question to clarify they understand your COVID rules, don’t work there. I understand some people have bad days but this passive-aggressive attitude is consistent. I can’t imagine how they behave with people who don’t speak English or don’t have family to translate (I translate for my father who only speaks Spanish). If you cannot tolerate talking to people who don’t think or talk like you, invest in a medical interpreter or hire staff accordingly to the times. It’s 2021. Dr. Zikra is an amazing Dr., that's genuinely concerned about your health. She gives you the medicines and advice you need for better health and a better life. My A1C was 14.2 and now it is 6.2. In 3 short months and my metformin has been reduced to only 500ml a day. Keep praying and do your work and I promise you will see results.

I have been happy with Dr. Z for quite a few years. This year I had problems with short lives of insulin infusion sets. The few sources about this problem are on the internet and I tried them all. Each time Dr. Z told me to change my basil rates, but I felt they were ok so i didn't change them. When I did finally change the settings to her suggestions ..... HOLY COW!! .. the problem went away!! She was right all along and I was an IDIOT! She is a wonderful Endo and I am so happy to have her as one of my providers.

This doctor made me believe I had diabetes insipidus and a prolactinoma. She put me on steroids before confirming any diagnoses. This lady is money hungry and will tell you anything for you to become her patient. If other doctors did not tell me to stop taking steroids, I would be severely damaged. I have never met more difficult people to deal with. Even the front desk said they would accept my insurance and after ordering several tests, they told me that my insurance cannot be accepted. This doctor does not care about people and will take advantage of civilians. Do not go.

Dr. Maha Zikra and all of the staff here are so amazing! They are incredibly nice, they listen and they truly care about you. As a new or returning patient, they take the time to get to know you, and offer real compassion regarding your health. And, the moment you arrive at the office, you immediately feel a sense of peace and tranquility as the staff greets you and checks you in. Hands down, the best doctors office I have ever been to.

First off when I entered,she asked me infront of a full lobby what was the reason for my visit. How embarrassing to tell her and a full lobby the reason for my visit. Then I was trying to explain to her how confusing the online system was. My appointment said 9 am google says the office doesn’t open up till 9. I got a text message for a automated system that told me to be there at 8:30 am. She told me she has been waiting for me since 8:15am and how I wasn’t supposed to listen to google or zdoc (the online system where I booked the appointment.)How confusing for a first time patient. I then explained to her that I did try to call the office 3 times between the times of 8-8:30 am to ask them what time I needed to be there. I went to this doctor with high hopes to treat my Hashimoto's .I showed up on time (actually 10 min early)First thing I noticed the lobby was PACKED this is how she schedules her daily appointments.Not surprisingly the wait time in the lobby was about an hour.Once I FINALLY got into the exam room she glanced at my bloodwork from 6 months ago she put me on the WORST most generic medicine possible even though I told her I had complications from this particular medication(Levothyroxine)She completely ignored my concerns and rushed me out the door within 5 minutes I was told to schedule a sonogram for a month later.There was no explanation of anything and I was literally just rushed out the room .I tried telling myself to give this a chance and do what the Doctor said.I did go ahead and give this medicine a try ...what do you know I haven't been able to get out of bed since .,my energy levels have tanked,my hair is falling out and all of my symptoms have gotten worse!! Dr. Zikra is a wonderful doctor. She has a wonderful bedside manner and really wants to to help you fix the health problems you have. I was referred to her by my primary care doctor for my out of control diabetes and thyroid problems. I have had 3 endocrinologists in the past who were unable to get my diabetes and TSH Levels under control. In one month, the treatment for my diabetes I went from a staggering A1C from 11.4 to 6.5. My TSH levels are also finally under control. She asks the right questions to make the most acccurate diagnosis to get you feeling better. I would highly recommend you see her! I have been a type-1 diabetic (Late Onset) for about 40 years and have seen quite a few endos during that time. By far, Dr. Zikra has been the best. She cares about how I am doing and answers all of my questions. She also takes the time to explain why some blood tests are off a bit and what to do to correct them. Her office staff is delightful to deal with. I am a fan! Recently I had a problem with a supplier. She helped me to switch to another supplier (medicare) and as a result my A1C changed from 7.1 to 6.6. Why? My supplier only offered a few meter brands and the one I had was very inaccurate which led to poor CGM responses. With the new meter, the CGM results are more consistent, and my control has improved. I am happy to recommend to anyone who is looking for a new practitioner that Dr. Z would be a great choice. I’ve had to go to an endocrinologist for years and in the Orlando area, Dr. Zikra is by far the best. She is patient, caring, and does a great job of explaining everything if everything is new to you. The office staff is also great and very friendly. I absolutely love Dr. Zikra. I was very sick for months and thrown from dr to dr not figuring it out until a cortisol test came out low. I came to Dr. Zikra from a recommendation in a group. And I am so glad I did. She was so caring and really cared about helping me feel better. She knew right away I had Adrenal Insufficiency. And a few months later after getting sick again that I had pancreatic insufficiency. She immediately prescribed me medication and adjusted others. And now I feel so much better. Came in with previous bloodtest results, and was ask to take the exact same bloodwork again. All I wanted was a hormone panel test done, and was told it was unnecessary. Well that blood test I took was unnecessary, it didn't show me anything i did not know.

Dr Zirka is Amazing!!!!! I don't understand some of these reviews. She always takes her time gets to the bottom of any problem. She put everything through right away. You wait for nothing. I met Dr. Zikra today. I have to say that she has the beat patient interaction I have ever witness in a Doctor. She understood my thyroid issue and was the most knowledgeable of 4 previous doctors I have seen. I am so lucky to have found her.

I have been going to Dr Zikra for years now. I come from NJ and it was very hard to find a Dr. equivalent to one their. Dr. Zikra is it!! She is an amazing Dr. listens to you and is pro active in your treatment. Her staff is amazing and knows me by name. I am getting the best care I can ask for. I recommend this office to anyone!!

The doctor and the entire staff are awesome. They've treated me great every visit. The staff has always welcomed me and helped me out every way they can. Dr. Zikra is great and ensures she's answered all of my questions and explained everything. Very kind and genuinely cares about her patients. Dr. Zikra has helped me with my diabetes and took the time to listen to my concerns. She even helped with my blood pressure and provided a prescription to combine 2 that I was taking. She is a great doctor and she listens to her patients to come up with a good plan to manage their health. A good doctor who shows they care about their patients is hard to find. You barely see the dr, for less than 2 minutes on you first two appt. After that, only nurse practitioner, no dr.

What a disappointment, I waited 60 days to get an appointment, and when I got there I was told they can not see me because I was 30 minutes late that I got stuck in traffic, then I have to make another appointment and wait another 60 days.

Unimpressed by the rude, uncooperative staff who are not capable of scheduling and relaying the right information to patients. Front desk never knows anything and could never answer my questions. Office manager was just as bad. It was my first time here, and I waited over an hour to see the doctor and when she finally met with me, we were together for a total of six minutes. In those six minutes she managed to prescribe me some medication for something completely unrelated to what I went in for. I felt rushed and she didn't really listen to my concerns. On top of that, the lady at the front desk was really rude, and the office itself was kinda sketchy. While I was in the room I could CLEARLY hear and understand the conversation of the MA and patient next door, which has to be some kind of violation?? Overall a really bad expierence and I wouldn't recommend going here. Dr. Zikra is one of the most rude, unprofessional, non-caring doctors that I have EVER seen. This woman believes that she can can say anything and be as rude as she wants to be as long as she says it with a smile. She smiles and makes eye contact to give the illusion that she cares. But Don’t be deceived. Through her fake smile and demenur, it is easy to see her true colors and the fact that she really doesn’t care at all. After a recent hospital stay, she was referred to me for a follow up since I did not have an established endocrinologist of my own. Once she finally came in to the room, she did not even spend 5 minutes with me(After happily taking my $250 appointment fee) I brought original hospital records with me for her to review, along with other recent test results which she did not even bother to look at. I tried handing her the information and she actually pushed it away. She said that she did not need to see any test results and that by “looking at me,” she could tell that there was nothing wrong with me. She said to eat three helpings of dairy and get 15-20 minutes of sunlight each day and that I would be feeling completely better. Now I had just spent 4days and nights in the critical care unit of the hospital for hyponatremia and a new diagnosis of diabetes insipidus, but according to her, and her annoyingly fake smile, everything was fine. I ended up back in the hospital 2 months later for symptoms of extreme fatigue and a possible pituitary disorder. I then had the very unpleasant surprise of seeing her again. As it turns out, she was the on-call hospital endocrinologist. I could hardly believe my eyes when she entered the room as I knew I was up against a brick wall again as far as help, concern and/or care. This visit was less than 90 seconds, as once again, she would not allow me to ask any questions or to even talk. She talked straight over me, ignoring any question I was trying to ask and finally admitted that again, she did not review any of the test results which were in question. Her words again, were that she didn’t need to.(Need or want.?!?) I do believe it is the later. She did not WANT to take the time to look at anything for as we’ve already established, “she knows best.” I’m not sure how this woman has become a hospital affiliated doctor. She is definitely NOT a good representation of the the hospital itself. I have been to this hospital several times in the past for not only an ER visit but surgeries and lab work, ect., as well, and I have always been very impressed with their quality of staff, their service and their efficiency. They will be informed of my experiences with her as well. DO NOT go to this doctor if you are looking for quality of care, as it simply does not exist! The whole staff was very friendly and attentive. Dr. Zikra was very knowledgeable and cares about her patients.

In the short time I've been Dr. Zikra's patient she's done more for me then my former Dr of 10 years. She also has gotten me off of both insulins. She takes time with her patients. I would recommend her to anyone.

I am always hesitant when I change doctors, but the staff and nurses were some of the nicest ladies I have ever met! Very timely too -- I was even taken back to my appointment 10 minutes early! When does that ever happen?! The doctor was very nice and knowledgeable. I also like that they can do blood work and ultrasounds in office so I don't have to drive to a separate location. Staff was friendly and and they all greeted me with a smile, even laughed at my stupid jokes. LOL. The wait time was very short. The exam areas were neat and clean. The doctor explained everything to me and what was going to be done and what I needed to have done and called me on the phone as soon as she got the results to tell me good news so that I didn't have to worry until the next office visit. Very professional and easy to talk to, explains things so that you can understand them plus she has a really nice personality which adds to a good bedside manner. I went for diabetes control and she diagnosed me with polycystic ovarian syndrome just by looking at me. My OBGYN had already told me after tests there is nothing wrong with my reproductive system. Dr. Zikra prescribed me birth control pills and didn't care I told her janumet messes me up but still prescribed it anyways. Tech doesn't do blood pressure properly. I went for diabetes but she never checked my feet which really concerned me. I have to wait a month to do labs? It makes no sense.

The MD following my meeting did not recommend any followup tests. So I will be getting a second opinion. While she made a cursory exam of my throat feeling for any nodules etc, there was no tests requested as my neurologist wanted to r/o an autoimmune disease of the thyroid based upon elevated levels of Thyroglobulin Antibodies. (87 on most recent test)

when I first went to Dr Zikra I was so scared, She made me feel like it was OK to be worried; she made me feel at ease. When she told me I had Cancer I felt my world at an end; Dr Zikra told me too look at her and said " you will fight this with a bang Mrs Amanda" with her help I am cancer free and in remission. I LOVE YOU DR ZIKRA, you will always be in my heart.

I researched for a good Endocrinologist, and really read all the reviews. I am so glad I did. I found Dr. Zikra, and don't mind the drive to her office . She cares about her patients, explains well the treatment, and takes her time making sure I'm well informed about my meds, etc. Don't base your decision to choose a Dr. on how long you waited at the office, etc, it doesn't matter, what matters is to have a Dr. that cares! and is knowledgeable.

spent all of five minutes with me, wouldnt give me any in depth information. Later found out through a simple google search and a friend in the medical field that i was prescribed the wrong medication. Would never recommend, go somewhere else.
