Dr. Maha Abdel-Kader

I have been seeing Dr. AK for years, she always listens and has a very calming bedside manner. I wouldn’t want to see anyone else

I have been seeing Dr. AK for several years. She has always been kind, compassionate, and attentive to the patient’s needs. She is responsive to the patient’s concerns and will work cooperatively with the patient to adjust, change or stop medications based on patient feed back. She is also responsive to the telehealth messaging portal. Dr. AK is extremely knowledgeable and caring. My only concern is that appointments are sometimes on a tight time schedule and can seem hurried. I am sure this is more a product of insurance than anything else. I would recommend Dr. AK without reservation.

I have been a patient of Dr. Abdelkader for over 10 years now. She saw me through very tough periods of my life, she was always very patient, compassionate and attentive to my needs. She really listens to me. She is very knowledgeable and knows her stuff, adjusted my meds when needed and at the same time did not have a knee jerk reaction and put me on more meds when my symptoms were more related to adjustments I needed to make in my life. She really knows how to differentiate between medication issues as opposed to therapy issues. She makes me feel that we are a team working together. Love her and would highly recommend her.

Kind and warm but not a good psychiatrist. She didn’t listen when I told her that my depression was getting worse and made no medication change. I hit bottom shortly thereafter. I told the hospital who my doctor was and she never once tried to contact me. She was my first psychiatrist so I didn’t know any different. Now, I have an excellent one who is straightforward, asks the right questions, and makes changes when needed. I’m doing great now no thanks to Dr. Abdel-Kader.

She is a very pleasant Dr. Listens and is compassionate. Loved her! Main issue WAS BILLING at the office is BELOW standard. They never BILLED my in insurance, correctly when it was done!!! Also it was pass the 24 month waiting. I would go in they would Take my co-pay never had a problem one day I walk and suddenly owe $1000. Lawyer said Dont pay!! FIRSTLY I find out they NEVER GOT AUTH. Wow I had Gtown Hosp self insured ERISA they would not pay because the billing was not done correctly NO AUTH and in timely fashion over 12months later The billing girl was NASTY, who was also a counselor not EXPERIENCED BILLING REP Stick to counseling! I surely would not go there to see a counselor/billing women who was more evil than my ex mother in law. Please make sure your billing and AUTH are done ASAP THEY will ruin your credit and your life! SO much for going to see the Dr!! More sad than when I came 2 yr prior! Read all REVIEWS! Sad when a billing issue RUINS a Dr. Hire BETTER STAFF

I never thought it would be possible to feel this good again. Dr Abdel-kader is just an amazing doctor. Her calm demeanor and peaceful soul helped carry me through some of my darkest days. I am so thankful that I found her.

Insists on my child scheduling & paying for a 5 min appointment to get refill on medication that she’s been on with no problems for 5 years. What a racket. No flexibility or concern for patient’s well-being

Dr. Abdel-Kader is one of the best providers I've ever had. She is thoughtful and takes the time to listen, which can be uncommon for busy, established Drs in this field. Her schedule is very full, but despite that, she makes time for urgent issues. With her care, I feel she and explains conditions, methods and medications such that I have educated personal input for all treatment decisions. I trust her very much.

After numerous dissatisfied visits to other Psychiatrists, I have finally found one that actually listens to me and is always vigilant in her care and meeting my needs. I make a 3 hour round trip just to see her. Staff is always nice and very helpful as well. Highly recommend.

Dr. AK is without a doubt the most amazing Doctor I have ever had. She's kind, patient and listens to every question or concern I have without rushing me out of the door. I've been seeing her about 8 years and I've never had one single problem. She's great about returning phone calls in a timely manner and is very good at dealing with pesky insurance companies as well. Dr. AK has changed my life and I would absolutely be lost without her.
