Dr. Gardner is by far the best doctor I have been to. Yes, she is firm on her stances. She will tell you like it is. She won't sugar coat anything. Yes, you do spend time waiting, but, she is spending that time with patients and she spends equal time with you. I have never felt rushed while in her care and I have never felt like a number. She diagnosed me when my primary care physician could care less. I was a number to him. Her diagnosis and help stopped me from having to see yet another doctor. And in my time of need after two miscarriages she walked me through the steps of what I needed to do. I had many late night phone calls to help me. While I see many say on here that her bedside manner is to be desired I have never seen such a dedicated doctor to her patients. We don't go see doctors to feel all warm and fuzzy. I wasn't going to submit a review but after reading the other ones that had the exact same experience as me, I felt obligated to. First she asked the same as other doctor's but then she kept hounding me because I didn't know any of my family's history after I explained to her that my father left when I was little and my mom died shortly after. Then I let her know that I was taking a supplement that my nutritionist whom I trust and would never have me take anything that was not good for me. She then went on a 30 minute rant about how those are dangerous and that I will die from them. I also told her I was lactose intolerant yet she hounded me that I need to eat yogurt everyday. She is very old school and I respect that for her but she was so judgmental and made me feel like an idiot because i wasn't living to her standards. I also clearly remember refusing some lab test and then received a bill for those exact lab test. Please stay away from this doctor. You will fill horrible coming out. I cannot find a new doctor soon enough! Dr. Gardner needs some training in her customer service and just basic human etiquette on how to talk to women about tough subjects without causing harm. Also, check if your insurance covers anything that she recommends that she do for you as her and her office cannot accurately do so leaving patients with bills they should not have to pay. Never going back and I will warn anyone I know not to go to Dr. Gardner or her office. I cannot find a new doctor soon enough! Dr. Gardner will ask 101 questions about your whole life and medical history be warned. She is very thorough with trying to figuere out a diagnosis which is a great pro however I can see this leading to unnecessary tests and higher out of pocket costs. Her patient bed side manners need improvement patient dignity should matter. Her demeanor is very condensing when speaking with you and she most definitely lacks empathy so if you're already sensitive about certain medical condition be warned. If your body mass is above normal she will be blunt about it and very pushy about placing you on a strict diet. She will spend your whole appointment time lecturing you on how your unhealthy lifestyle will cause your death rather than focusing on the real reason for your visit and helping you come up with a care plan to solve the issue. I also agree with the other reviews that her receptionists need improvement in their customer service skills and time management. Her medical assistants are also not well trained they seem nervous and lost most of the time which causes patients to feel unsure about wether they made the right choice to visit her office. I love Dr Gardner- she knows her stuff and she really cares about her patients! I am glad I met her! Thank you Dr for being so great!!! :)

Dr. Gardner is an Outstanding Physician. She took the time to actually listen to me and responded to all my concerns. She is very thorough and an excellent communicator. I feel that she is invested in my well being. I definitely recommend her to anyone looking for an Outstanding Gynocologist.

If you are looking for a Doctor who doesn't care about bedside manner then this the person for you. For me personally, I found her to be rude, condescending and in to herself. I went to her for a OBGYN problem and instead I was given a full annual exam. I was "interrogated" (asked questions) that invaded my privacy and made me very upset that I would even be asked these questions. NEVER has any doctor in the past asked me these questions! She would not give me enough time to even answer most of the questions as she talked over me. After 40 minutes of questions, she finally did a pelvic exam. It was the most painful exam I have EVER had! After she finished with the exam she took the piece of paper that was covering me and put it on a chair beside the desk. She had me sit down on it and place my clothes on top of me. It was so degrading! I then decided that I would change Doctors. When I left noone was at front desk to check me out and I had to unlock the front door to leave!

Do not see this doctor unless you enjoy pain and being billed for unnecessary testing. I went to see her for a routine pap after moving from another state and needed a new doctor. I chose her because she was close but I will never be going back to see her. First of all she interrogated me for about an hour. I understand doctors need to ask questions about your history, especially when this is the first time seeing you however I felt she was judgmental because I did things like drink one cup of coffee a day and didn't know every single detail about my grandparents medical history. The exam itself was incredibly painful and I bled for days after. She didn't even give me a gown to put on, just the paper cover. Then I received a bill for lab tests. My insurance has always covered a routine pap at 100%. I had never received a bill for one before. After spending two weeks calling and going to the doctor office and calling the lab company, being bounced back and forth between the two because no one could give me a straight answer about what I was being charged for, I finally figured out she did unnecessary testing that I did not need. Now I have to pay a $70 bill for lab work I didn't ask for or need. Stay far away from this doctor! Do not see this doctor unless you enjoy pain and being billed for unnecessary testing. While I'm not opposed to this doctor's medical practices, I am opposed to the bedside manner and the judging that is passed down to the patient. I'm afraid I can't divulge too much to her anymore as she just enters it in her computer for all to see (including a separation and a cheating partner) and then makes you feel like crud for your decisions. If you're fat, she will tell you. If you're unhealthy, she will tell you. Forget the subtleties, this is not the office for that. The front desk could use lessons in customer service. Expect at least 20 minutes to wait in the lobby, 10 for intake, another 20 for your sit down with the doctor and then 15 for your pap. So over an hour. I'm sure she knows what she is doing but I'm lackluster about the service side. Very patient, takes time with you.

I've been with Dr. Gardner for about 20 years. Of all my doctors, she takes the most time with her patients. Plan to spend close to an hour with her as she addresses any and all concerns you may have.

I have been seeing Dr. Gardner for a very long time. I appreciate her knowledge and attention to detail. She takes such good care of me and has helped me so much in so many ways. She is by far the best gynecologist I have ever had. I feel she cares very much.

I am 67 yr old woman new to Tucson, and needed to find myself a new Doctor today. I have to say......I Love this Doctor !!!! Trust me, I have seen many doctors in my day, however none with so much knowledge and concern for my health issues. I almost did not see her due to other bad reviews, but girls she is the real deal.

I really like Dr. Gardner. She is blunt and honest and very thorough. She listens and takes concerns seriously. She also makes referrals and consults other experts as appropriate. As others have mentioned, she spends time assessing and promoting healthy decisions - sunscreen, calcium, intake, healthy weight, seatbelts, etc. I feel comfortable that she has my best interest at heart and recommend her to others.

I have never had a more thorough health assessment from any other doctor or practitioner. Dr. Gardner took the time to go through every inch of my health history, and I was impressed with her professionalism, her thoroughness, her sensitivity, and her knowledge base. This was my first visit with her to simply get a new birth control prescription, and Dr. Gardner could have decided to do a minimal assessment of my history and a brief physical exam, but she really took the time to do it right.

I would NEVER recommend Dr. Gardner to anyone! Gruff when she entered the room & critical of her staff. She proceeded to take a complete LIFE history with resentment. I was only there for a gyn exam. I had decided I'd never come back. I only wish I had gotten out of her office then! She performed the single most painful pelvic exam of my life. She didn't care that she was hurting me, even remarked that it was no worse than losing my virginity!! I replied, "Yes, it was!" Stay away from this one.

Gardner is completely focused on guns for some reason. I either should lock them up or sell them. Also she was focused on other subjects like skin cancer and bone health when she's my OBGYN. She's too opinionated on subjects that don't apply to the visit. She also did a pap on me since I am female it hurt so bad I got sick and ended up throwing up when I got home. I've had infections that she has forced me to come in and see her or no meds when I've never needed to do it before!!

Rude, condescending, incompetent. More concerned about the use of calcium and talking about the benefits of milk and other dairy products, than actual diagnosis based on your symptoms. Has her dog in the examination room and is extremely rough during the examination to the point where you bleed. Rude to her staff, rude to her patients.
