After being a patient of Dr. Nguyen for more than 20 years and being asked to change my appointment from Monday to Friday. However, I refused service when I arrived at the office 20 minutes before my appointment because Eye Florida no accepted my insurance by United Healthcare.

After three attempts to get a referral to Dr. Nguyen's office. I showed up for my appointment, still, they received no referral. I called my primary care office immediately and they resent the referral again for a third time. Dr. Nguyen office staff would not even talk to my provider that I had on the phone right there. My provider faxed it immediately as Dr. Nguyen office wanted the faxed referral wouldn't take a verbal. I proceeded to wait in the waiting rooms. After 1/2 hour after my scheduled appointment, they called me up to say they still did not get the faxed referral so I had to reschedule my appointment. I couldn't believe they were sending me away. That is such poor service. I had been an Medical Office manager in the past. I would never send a patient away! I couldn't believe it. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!

I arrived at 8:45a for my 9a appt. Pretty full waiting room. I sat & sat. At 9:30, I asked if I should reschedule? No, you're next. At 9:40, 2 patients left, asked again, No they are looking at your chart now. At 9:50, again should I reschedule, no, I can see they are reviewing your chart, just another minute. At 10:00 am., I stated, "I'll just call to reschedule! OK, I'll tell them. What is your name?" What a frustrated fool I am. I was told I needed surgery. I am not sure about that diagnosis. So perfect reason for a second opinion.

Patients, please, please be cautious before and while visiting this office. My PCP referred me to Dr. Nguyen due to an eyelid infection. I went to my appointment on 9/30/21. Once inside the Doctor's office, an eye exam with pictures was taken, and I thought, wow! This is a very comprehensive examination for an eyelid infection! I then met Dr. Nguyen, a nice doctor with a professional "bedside" manner. We discussed why I was there and also my right eye blindness history. She seemed interested in it and offered testing for my right eye too. She prescribed an ointment and eye drops for dry eyes. The two prescribed medications were costly, and I could only afford the ointment; the eye drops were about $500 even after my insurance coverage. On 10/19/21 was my follow-up visit for the eyelid infection; I was subject to more eye pictures and a visual field examination. By the way, I was treated very rudely by the tech who was doing the procedure. Then, I was taken to another room to see another Dr., not Dr. Nguyen. He tells me I shouldn't have had those images done; he stated there was no point since I have a congenital history of right eye blindness, and there was nothing they could do about it. On December 23, I received the bill. I was charged $207 for the new patient visit, $164 for the first eye exam. Also, $160 for the follow-up appointment and $203 for the visual field examination, and $101 for more eye images! My insurance did not cover all the exams because most of the pictures taken during the visits were not applicable/relevant for the reason I was seen by the Doctor (eyelid infection). Now I ended up with a bill I have to pay for $466.62! My advice is: Ask why the images they take are necessary and if your insurance would cover the cost. I learned my lesson. But, it is regrettable that I ended up with a bill I have to pay, and I disagree with it. I am very disappointed and will never go back to see this Doctor and her office. My visits have been lack luster at best. Dr. Nguyen is dismissive and strung me along for 7 months without any real results. The Dr. contradicts herself, telling me that my vision is a simple correction, but 2 sentences later, says I would be legally blind without the vision in my left eye, and they can only correct it to 20/35. I wouldn't mind all this except she told me I likely have diabetes, so I went and got blood work and my blood sugar and A1C levels are below average. I'm a large person, but I eat Keto and work out 5 days a week, so I'm not exactly fat. She wouldn't listen to that and then, instead of setting my appointment for a month later (to let my eyes readjust after being on drops for 3 months), she sets my follow up for prescription lenses 3 months later. I was patient about this until I went to my appointment, confirmed via email, and they rescheduled the appointment without contacting me. I can't see well enough to read, or drive and they just don't seem to mind.

Excellent Ophthalmologist who definitely knows her stuff!

Dr. Nguyen would be highly recommended by me to other prospective patients. Her staff is very professional, helpful and friendly. Both of her facilities are clean and have all the latest equipment.

I would not recommend her to anyone I went in there with half vision due to a foreign object in my eye she wanted to charge me over five hundred dollars mind u I have no insurance then refused to see me cause I don't have full payment and to her i t didn't matter I was a combat veteran went to another eye doc today Dr.burry in kissimmee he charged me a hundred dollars Dr.nguyen has no morals and should be ashamed of herself I don't know how she can sleep at night

I felt this was a money grubbing operation. I had 4 appointments in a month, lots of insurance billing eye tests and was told first that I did not need glasses. Then I was told at last appointment by an associate doctor who barely spoke English that I needed glasses 2 days before I was leaving FL. So I asked if I could have prescription for glasses to take with me. I was told I would have to pay an additional $35 for actual prescription. Waste of time and money. I don't trust them.

Staff horribly rude. Office is taking insurance money and charging patients. Dr. is friendly but not accurate on all diagnosis
