Dr. Loyd Avery West

Less than one star. I have never met a doctor that is more rude, condescending, insensitive, and unprepared. I drove over two hours to leave in tears, without any further information, comfort, or answers. I was made to feel like a lowlife who was wasting his time. I have lost faith in my Dartmouth Hitchcock team and wouldn't recommend this doctor to my worst enemy.

Less than one star. I have never met a doctor, let alone a cancer doctor, who is as rude, condescending, unempathetic as this person. Especially when a patient is going through something of this nature, to be so downright mean to make me feel like lowlife who is wasting his time is absolutely terrible. My husband was shocked at the way this man spoke to me. I have now lost faith in my Dartmouth Hitchcock teams and do not wish this doctor on my own worst enemy.

Has a great sense of humor. You can tell he cares for the whole person when his professionalism, and skills kick in. I am completely confident in his care and treatment of my cancer.

Dr West is amazing he saved my life . I was stage 4 ovarian cancer and under his care I’m doing great . His nurse Victoria is caring and so helpful. Everyone in every office that I have come in contact with us so pleasant . I have only wonderful things to say about my Dr and Dartmouth Hitchcock .

I just spoke to Dr. West on the phone and he was so rude. I am a high risk cancer patient and have a large cyst that is extremely painful. It needs to be surgically removed and this man told me to basically deal with it as there is nothing to be done over the weekend.

Dr. West performed my hysterectomy after a cancer diagnosis. I had a very easy recovery and have an excellent prognosis. He does gentle, but thorough exams and is very organized. My pre-op consultation with him was the most productive hour I've ever spent with a physician. Dr. West did a great job of explaining my procedure and my test results . He was optimistic, but didn't sugar-coat. He met with my family after the surgery and looked in on me twice during my overnight surgical stay. I trust this doctor completely and would recommend him to any gynecologic cancer patient.

I had a robotic assisted total hysterectomy for endometrial cancer. I believe that Dr West is an excellent technician. I felt satisfied with the aftermath of the surgery, but I never saw him again after I went into the OR. He did speak to my family, but not to me. Should I have to face further cancer treatment, communication and compassion in a care provider are so important to me that I will see someone else, but I am thankful for his specialized skill.
