Dr. Louis A Velazquez

He invited me into the examination room and proceeded to make jokes about my weight. He called me a tubby lard and beat me with my own shoes. Do not come here.

He was my son's provider & my husband's provider. Both were bad experiences. My husband even considered leaving his beloved therapist just so he could get away from this man. Unpleasant, jumps to conclusions, talks over you, assumes the worst of you.

Avoid at all cost! This man caused me to feel so violated & tricked by his questionable way of practice that I scalded my vocal chords after my visit with him just so I won’t be able to talk & feel vulnerable to any Dr in the future.His after visit summary of the appointment left me seething mad.I was poorly vetted by his assistant & got a appointment with him to see if magnetic resonance therapy may help my depression.She knew that I was bipolar & that meant the insurance wouldn’t pay for the $10K therapy.Velasquez let me sit there & tell him so many personal & painful details of my traumatic childhood from six and on.I say questionable because IN THE LAST 10 MINUTES of my appointment IS WHEN HE ASKED me my mental health diagnoses & then abruptly stopped the appointment & let me know that being bipolar the insurance won’t pay for MRT.I felt so violated & tricked.He got paid for the appointment.Velazquez made me scald my voice away. I’m 52 & the appointment hurt me. Avoid at all cost!

The irony of describing the pain of navigating the uncaring world of mental health professionals to an uncaring mental health professional... Very insensitive guy.

He barely listen to what you are saying. He likes to jump to conclusion very fast and he even dared to change a prescription without enough cause...

Dr. Luis Velazquez was my psychiatrist several years ago, and it took me awhile to get to know him, but he is very kind and genuine. At first I misread him, as others apparently have done, because he is brilliant and his assessment process is very quick. He may seem dismissive, but he was a great help to me, and it broke my heart when he left Institute For Human Solutions. Because of his help, I was able to rise above my circumstances and I am now have a career that I love and a good relationship with my family. If you are willing to be patient and get to know this provider, you will find him to be a great help!

Dr. Louis A Velazquez was Condescending, rude, made wild assumptions, said it was his job to interrogate me, printed lies in a medical report, yelled at me, triggered my PTSD and depression. My quality of life has diminished as a direct result of this man's lack of sensativity and training. He would not answer my questions.

Dr. Velazquez was one of the more uncaring doctors I've met. The first time he met me, he spent no more than 10 minutes with me; second visit was 5 minutes, and he was rude and dismissive. Will not visit him again.

Didn’t show up for my appointment. Dropped me from the system with no way to refill my meds.

I had to see him when my psychiatrist was out of town. That was a mistake. His way of relating was distant.

Dr. Velazquez was condescending and rude

Hands down one of the worst psychiatric care providers in the area. Totally unreceptive to patient feedback, displays a total lack of empathy or respect for his patients. Hands down one of the worst medical experiences I have ever dealt with. Would leave zero stars if possible.

Dr Velazquez has been the most caring Doctor I have ever encountered. He not only was concerned about me, but my family as well. I have seen him for several years and could consider him a friend at this point. He will not give you the answer you want but the one you need; I trust wholeheartedly in his ability's and suggest that anyone in need look to him first! I would trust my children's health to him first overall! Dr. Velazquez -you are an amazing Doctor and person!!
