Dr. Jenis is a wonderful, competent and talented orthopedic spine surgeon. He repaired my broken lower back from a ski injury in 2004 by doing a spinal fusion L5-S1 which stopped my constant sciatic nerve pain and allowed me to get my life back. He also did a successful spinal fusion on my mother in more recent years. We both have advanced Osteoarthritis and degenerative bone disease. My experience. Dr. Jenis performed XLIF surgery on L3, L4, L5. I went in healthy and emerged with permanent foot paralysis and intractable peroneal damage. I later learned that medical literature on XLIF states, “Even a cursory look at the XLIF data demonstrated the greater danger posed to neural tissue by this newest addition to back surgery. Clearly, the MIS (minimally invasive) XLIF approach inherently places major neurological structures at risk, and the multiple studies developed to limit these risks have not succeeded.” Dr. Jenis failed to inform me of his financial ties and interests with medical device manufacturers. I never had "informed consent." I discovered from the web site, DollarsforDocs, that he received $200,000 in licensing and royalty fees from NuVasive and Stryker, 2 companies that manufactured the devices implanted in my back. He never informed me that 3 representatives from these 2 companies would be present in the operating room. I sued Dr. Jenis.

It has been 4 years since I had my spinal fusion with Dr. Jenis. I was out of work for 5 months because of severe nerve pain on my right side from the surgery. Every time I complained about it, he would brush it off by telling me that I was just more sensitive than most. At my 6 month checkup, he told me that if I couldn't stand the pain for one more minute, he would send me to a pain clinic. I walked out of that office and never went back. I then found a new doctor and brought him the MRI I had 2 months after my fusion because Dr. Jenis thought I might have an infection. After he looked at the MRI, he asked me if I understood that I still had severe stenosis at L3-L4 and L4-L5. I was absolutely shocked. Dr. Jenis NEVER told me the surgery didn't work. 2 years ago I found a caring doctor who did a laminectomy and who also discovered that I had severe arthritis in my left hip. I have since had a hip replacement and am PAIN free, except for my permanent nerve pain!

The absolute best, intelligent, informed, empathetic, patient, and most importantly, capable orthopedic doctor/surgeon in all of New England...bar none.

I was recommended by friends who have been treated by Dr. Jenis. I am happy with his care and treatment. He is extremely professional and gentle.

I had a surgery with Dr. Jenis 6 years ago and now I am scheduled for another one. The first surgery was a laminectomy and it gave me immediate relief. I have had 6 pain free years. I now have further problems that require a fusion and would not choose any other doctor. God has given him great skills and I am putting my trust in God that he has lead me once again to the right surgeon. I look forward to telling you all the results.

First and foremost Thank You. It has been 18 years since our last visit, T12-L2 fusion with implementation, 16+ hours on the table. To this date I have been able to do as I wish, some stuff the Doc would cring at. Sometimes things get lost in life, I will forever be greatfull for all that You and your staff did for me.

I had surgery in December 2017, I am 86 years and had pain for years. Since then I have been pain free from the stenosis, I still have arthritis and keep it under control with mild pain meds. I wish I had this surgery years ago. I thank Dr. Jenis and his team, he is very caring and easy to talk to, he even called me the night before surgery to make sure that I was comfortable with my decision. God bless you all.

Dr. Jenis is a great surgeon he's exactly what you as a patient would need he's a strait shooter tells you exactly what you need to hear. I've had 2 surgeries most recent in Sept 2017 and although my outcome wasn't as good as I hoped for this time around he made it perfectly clear what I was up against. I continue to see Dr. Jenis and will continue as long as I need to. I recommend Dr. Jenis to anyone looking to seek a Dr. in his field. Thank You Dr. Jenis for everything you have done for me.

Dr is dismissive and evasive. Would not answer questions directly, and gave me feeling he was not interested in my case. I wasted a year.....

Dr Jenis is a fantastic orthopedic surgeon with terrific bed side manner! I've had 2 surgies with him,2001 & 2012, both with 100% satisfaction and ultimately 100% pain relief. I have the utmost confidence in his ability.

Dr Jenis did not push surgery. He actually recommended that we delay it and get another opinion form someone that specializes in non surgical options. After confirming my diagnosis and waiting almost a year we talked over my quality of life, risk/reward, and likelihood of meeting my goals. Its been 5 days and most of my original symptoms are gone. I walked my daughter to school on Friday and walked 3.5 miles today (planned on 2 but got lost in the woods). I think he fixed the impingement!
