Worst experience I have encountered with a so called Medical Specialist. Was not acquainted with the PhD. for my first visit. On arriving for my second visit to get the results of my sleep over tests an individual that I thought was an orderly, later to find out he was a MD came in to give me the results. He was un professional in his dress, appearance and or language (using profanity) and was very hard to understand. The Dr. did not explain the test results or give any comparisons to statistics other than to say you are critical and you stopped breathing x number of times and once for xx seconds and we need to do another sleep test to see what type of CPAP unit you need.. I said no way, as the sleep over test just conducted was in what I considered as unclean, I was treated as I felt I had to beg for permission to take insulin and other medication as well as visit the rest room prior to beginning the tests. The bed linens were old and the excuse given later by the office manager was that "you must be used to a different thread count then we use" and another statement that "we try to switch out the linens every so often". I was told if I was not going to do another sleep over that they would then give me a CPAP to use for 2 weeks which by the time I left was changed to 31 days. I was given a home health care firm and told my papers would be faxed to them that day which did not take place. During the sleep over tests some of the electrodes came off and when I mentioned it to the person giving the test was told "that's ok we don't need those anyway". Dr. Bolen and his staff were amazing. After suffering so long with exhaustion, they were able to help me understand what was happening. They took great care to make sure I was comfortable, that I didn't need anything before the sleep study, explained exactly what was going to happen. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I got the results and they explained them and was happy to provide me with a copy of the results for my study. Several of my friends recommended Dr. Bolen and I am so glad we listened! Dr. Bolen and his staff were amazing. After suffering so long with exhaustion, they were able to help me understand what was happening.
