Dr. Lori Ann Thompson

Stay away from this office! I have never in all of my life seen or been treated like the way we just were. It was dr Thompson and the nurse practioner Thompson! How awful you stand and laugh at someone for their cry out for mental health!! Absolutely disgusting! (And I wasnt even the patient) and still treated poorly! Definitely not a caring loving patient focused office! The nurse was ok. It was the providers!! Stay away!!

First off, Dr. Thompson has been a fantastic physician to my family member for many years and I know with current circumstances that her office is being stretched very far. While I appreciate the long hours and effort her medical staff is putting in...My family member had an appointment at the beginning of September where the words "cancer"and specialist referral" were mentioned. After over a month and several phone calls we have yet to 1)speak with a nurse 2)receive a return call 3)receive a referral. I have tried to be understanding, but putting the fear of cancer in someone's heart and then not following through, or simply calling back is cruel. I would love change this review and tell all of the good things dr. Thompson has done for our family.... I would never suggest this doctor to anyone. I have been going to Dr. Thompson for years and she used to be super caring and helpful until the last two years where she became rude, moody, and irritated when I asked any questions. It took me months to schedule a time to come in for her professional advice on what medication I should start using and she belittled me for not knowing what I needed and completely ignored all of my concerns and my medical history. I began the medication she prescribed and every concern I voiced became a reality. I called into the office with my symptoms that included my face completely going numb and it took over a week for them to call me back to tell me the doctor said I have "anxiety issues and should proceed to the ER regarding my numb face." As I tried to ask a follow up question they hung up on me. People who want to write off their patients and not help them should not be in the medical profession. I would never suggest this doctor to anyone. Lori Thompson is the most moody, unhelpful, and rude doctor I have ever experienced. She belittled me for coming in to ask for her professional opinion on medication and prescribed me medication that was obviously a bad fit for me after the concerns I voiced to her. I started the medication and everything I was concerned about happened. I called in about my symptoms (which included my face completely going numb) and it took them over a WEEK to call me back to say I have "anxiety issues" and should proceed to the ER. I could have died. As I was asking a question they hung up on me.

I would NEVER suggest anyone go to this doctor. Apart from not listening to my concerns about the medication she wanted to prescribe she belittled me for coming in to ask for help. When the medication she prescribed gave me the terrible reaction I expected, it took her office over a week to call me back to tell me that I had "anxiety issues" and should proceed to the ER. As I was asking a follow up question her nurse hung up the phone on me.

The worst doctor I ever had in fact All of the IU Health doctors I've had are bad they should all go back to school or find a different line of work

Dr. Thompson is absolutely lovely! Listens to you, and really wants to do whatever she can to help. I also appreciate how she checks in on how you’re doing mentally. I have a lot specialists and she works with them and makes sure I’m receiving well rounded care! Wonderful physician for if you have chronic health issues. Only “criticism” is that the office staff can be a bit difficult to work with at times. Make sure you call ahead as early as you can to request a prescription refill, because it can take awhile for them to get back with you. Overall, would 10/10 recommend.

Horrible office. Lab messes up samples and results regularly. Surgery postponed due to LAB incompetence- they refrigerated a sample that wasn’t supposed to have refrigeration for testing!!! 93 year old had to retake labs and postpone life saving surgery!! Horrible staff hung up on family calling for results!!! Horrible wait time on phones/for check in!!! Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! If you can go anywhere else DO!

I've been a patient of Dr. Thompson for about five years now. She's always willing to listen to my concerns and seems to really care. Her current nurse is wonderful, too.

Dr. Thompson is a very empathetic & knowledgable physician. She has been my doctor since 2005 and has helped me through many health concerns. Due to my health, I need to see her about every 3 months. I find my appointments are most productive if I am prepared with any questions/ideas I have about new medications, treatments, lab work, etc. In other words, she is good with pro-active patients. Dr. Thompson is always very open to discussing my concerns without making me feel dumb for asking a question that seems like it has an obvious answer. Staff are professional, nonjudgmental and very careful about ensuring my medical info is kept private. I recommend Dr. Thompson. Dr. Thompson is a very empathetic & knowledgable physician. Dr. Thompson is fine, but her office staff is horrendous. I called to ask dr. Thompson a medical question and her receptionist tried to answer from personal experience. If I wanted an answer from a random non medical professional I could've just consulted to the Internet. Also, everytime I want to get a prescription called in, it's a debacle. Once the nurse told me it would be called in by the end of the day, when I get to the pharmacy it's not there! Things like this have happened repeatedly.
