Very disappointed he left his practice without any forwarding information. His staff allowed us to make an appointment, knowing he was no longer going to be!! Totally DISAPPOINTED ??

I started out seeing a NP and didn’t have a good experience at all so started seeing only Dr Hancock. He has always treated me with respect and never rushed me out. Always very thorough and compassionate. I appreciate his services very much. I recommend for sure.

I appreciate and love Dr. Hancock! Its sad to hear he will be retiring, but he deserves it greatly! I wouldn't be leaving if it wasn't for him retiring. He will be greatly missed. He is so patient and a great listener. Retire well Dr. Hancock!

My wife was a patient at this Dr's office until they dropped her for not being able to pay a $150.00 bill left over from insurance. Not everyone has the ability to pay that much at one time an in the same day! No partial payment would be accepted. The office staff was always rude an showed no compassion for anyone that I saw. One thing that bothers me is the fact that he was spose to be a good doctor but in the 3 years she was a patient there they didn't know she was a diabetic! We found out when she had to go to a walk in clinic . GO FIGURE! I could go on about the service but I'm just going to say I would second think about seeing this dr. If you manage to actually see Dr. Hancock, you'll find he's an excellent doctor. I give him 5 stars, along with the lab people. I don't mind seeing a nurse practitioner. With so many diabetics and people with thyroid issues and so few endocrinologists in Murfreesboro, I expect his office to be plenty busy. He's not going to be able to see EVERYONE in person. The only complaint I have is trying to get them on the phone. I call and it either rings and rings and rings or I get the voicemail and I can't leave a message because the mailbox is full, even though it says in the greeting they return calls. If they did, the mailbox wouldn't be full. I have to spend all day trying to get them on the phone. It's frustrating. If you manage to actually see Dr. Hancock, you'll find he's an excellent doctor. (most recent review, 4/1/21) - If I could leave a separate review, I would. However, I cannot. I saw the one and only Dr. Lloyd Hancock on February 1st for my ultrasound. Same ole song and dance. He says the exact same thing every time I see him, he never waivers from the same verbiage he uses. He told me my prescription strength needed to be changed. I was fine with that because I was used to it changing. He told me he'd let me know when the prescription was to be sent and filled out by my pharmacy but I haven't heard anything. I went to my CVS on Feb. 10th thinking I was picking up my newest prescription but I didn't notice it was my old prescription until today. I called CVS and the new prescription wasn't even sent to CVS until Feb. 26th!!! No wonder I didn't know. --------------------------------------------------------- (review left in 2020) - I’ve been going to them for years but after I’ve gotten older, I see how awful this place really is. If you’re moving, they don’t do referrals. Considering you need one for a specialist like a endocrinologist anyways. They do not refer unless it’s for surgeries. They can also never get my dosage correct. I’ve never heard of a place that tells you to take one pill every day then change it up to one pill every day except on Sunday, to either take no pill or half a pill. I’ve had it with this office. Their staff is full of rude girls that look like they are just out of high school that also never wear smiles on their faces. If I could not leave a star, I would. I have been going to this office roughly for 5 yrs. Within that time I have not met with him but with a nurse practitioner. Each time I have went I have been seen by a different one. So that is 5 different practitioner's Within a span of 5yrs. And with each one they change my medication I have been through the ringer to many times to count. This staff I feel doesn't care about the people they see or who they deal with. I will be finding another office. He may be a good Doctor but he needs to also make a point to see all of his patients and not just hand them off to his practitioner's. I have been going to this office roughly for 5 yrs. Dr Hancock is a good doctor. However, he has the MOST inept, uncaring staff that I have ever dealt with. My father is on insulin. He uses Syringes and Vials. Dosage was changed in 2017 from a mix to 2 separate insulins. No matter how many times I have called, visited the office, faxed information; along with the pharmacy faxing.... they send the WRONG prescription. Simple Math: If someone uses two insulins twice daily (that would be at least 4 daily), then sometimes an additional dose of short acting, based on needs (which would be 5). They have repeatedly sent the prescription for 3 injections daily.... since 2017. Each time I have explained the dosage to the staff, they confirm understanding... and send the wrong prescription again. Only one time within the past 5 year, has the prescription been correct.. and it had no refills. So back to the same frustration. I've mentioned this matter to Dr Hancock during appointment, and it's like they just don't care. I end up having to pay out of pocket for syringes instead of using insurance, most of the time; because they simply won't send a prescription for the correct dosage. Dr Hancock is a good doctor. Horrible!!!! I saw Dr. Hancock for awhile. Started out great but I slowly was getting worse. I went to another Doctor who immediately recognized that Dr. Hancock was administering to me way to much Thyroid medication. My thyroid condition had drastically went downhill under his care. I was in horrible shape for a long time and it took almost the entire year for me to get back on track. To top it off he ran up bills that I was not aware of. His staff is uncaring and horrible to deal with. They messed up my insurance and now want me to pay in the middle of a pandemic where I have been out of work. They turned me into collection even though I have made several attempts to contact them. THEY DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE !!!! I've had it with doctors not being held accountable while patients are always assumed the guilty party !!!

Dr. Hancock is a good doctor. However, it is not worth going through his staff, if you can, in fact, reach the staff and feel like that anyone there really understands the disease (Diabetes) and that it is potentially life threatening if not treated by professionals...or at least someone that understands AND THEN DOES SOMETHING TO HELP YOU! I’m gone! This has been an absurd, and quite frankly...a very upsetting experience upsetting experience. If the staff disagrees...they’re not the people that are needing or paying for “services”. Dr. Handcock is a good Doctor it's just hard to get in to see him. I have been seeing Dr. Handcock for many years and I trust him. The front desk on other hand I can only give them a 1 star. When calling to make or change an appointment it's really hard to get through to the front desk.

Lloyd Hancock, MD doesn't give a crap about me or my life. They allowed my prescriptions for diabetic and hormone treatments to expire DURING A PANDEMIC, and refused to give even a temporary portion until I could be seen. They rely on NURSES. I've seen the man TWICE in 5 years coming here. The turn-over rate is very high. New nurse yearly. I'm done. This isn't the first time they have harmed my body over their inability to function, but it will be the last.

My husband was referred to Dr Hancock as he has type 2 diabetes. Dr Hancock spent a lot of time getting to know my husband and reviewed his current meds and medical conditions. He made some changes and scheduled a follow up. It was so refreshing to have a specialist spend time getting to know a patient and we look forward to working with Dr Hancock and his wonderful staff to conquer this challenge !!

Worst place ever. I spend 2 hours waiting just to be see for 5 mins. I tell one of the staff that I have been waiting for almost 2 hours and they said because I was late. BS!!!!! The adminiatrative staff for this practice are a bunch of morons. Find out for yourself by just trying to call the office to speak to a human. Then try to talk to someone about about your bill. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s autoimmune thyroiditis one year ago. My PCP had been controlling my levels up to this point but I wasn’t getting any relief from symptoms. I thought that perhaps seeing an endocrinologist would help me get some of my quality of life back since they specialize in this area of medicine and might be able to figure out why despite having good TSH levels I still felt awful. After waiting 4 months, yes, 4 months, I finally got an appointment with Dr. Hancock’s office. I saw some of the bad reviews but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt because sick people sometimes can let their illness influence their perspective. So I arrive 15 minutes early, the receptionist isn’t all that friendly but she wasn’t rude at that particular time. I go back to see the PA, not the DR (which I found strange for this being my first visit and not seeing the Dr, but I guess that’s how they do things) and she says they will check my levels and get back with me in 2 weeks. I asked if there is anything I can do diet or supplement wise to help my symptoms, and she told me that there was nothing diet wise that would help and didn’t suggest any other supplements but said the ones I was currently taking were fine. When I asked about a gluten-free diet she said that could help but only after I specifically asked. Had I not been researching for the past year and already on a gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free diet I wouldn’t have had any idea that it could help some of my symptoms. When I went back out to make my follow up appointment, the receptionist called someone on the phone, stated “there she (the PA) goes again trying to have people come in two weeks when we are booked, thyroid patients are almost as bad as diabetes patients now days” then she told me the best she could do was an appointment that was a month away, and they wouldn’t tell me my lab values until I coughed up another $50 copay. I asked if they could send the results to my primary care MD and suggest any dose increases/decreases as I had an appointment already scheduled with them in the next week. I felt like I was over medicated on my current rx and didn’t want to keep suffering if the dose needed to be lowered. The receptionist told me if they send the results to my primary I could no longer be their patient anymore. I told her that was fine because I wasn’t impressed with them or their care and would prefer to find another endocrinologist anyways. A week later I ended up in the ER with heart rate of 175 at rest. Guess what? My meds were off. Went to PCP and they were concerned I was now in Graves’ disease. If I was still a patient of doctor Hancock I could have waited another 3 weeks to see him, but I got an appointment next day with an endocrinologist at St Thomas Midtown, and I actually saw the MD not a PA!! I got way more useful information and feel so much better after speaking with her. Today I got an official letter in the mail from dr Hancock’s office that states they will officially not keep me as a patient anymore. Really? Ha! I thought Dr’s only did that if you cuss them out or threaten the staff (I’m a nurse-we put up with some A-holes some times and I don’t get to say I’m not gonna treat you anymore). All I asked for was a more timely response for my labs, very politely, and I offered a viable option of seeing my PCP go get the information since they were obviously busy and over scheduled. At the end of the day it was about the dollar bills and not about what would be best for ME the patient, who ended up in the ER due to my levels being out of wack. I would not suggest this office to anyone who can choose who they see for their healthcare. I want to get better, I’m an awesome, polite and respectful patient, and I deserve a physician who cares about helping me feel well enough to take care my kids and have a decent quality of life. Anyone reading this review deserves the same. Make the trip to Nashville. It’s further to drive, but way better quality of care. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s autoimmune thyroiditis one year ago. I have been a patient for almost 2yrs, never met Dr. Hancock, always see the NP who has a lovely bedside manner. I was seen last Dec. and charged a full office visit, after speaking to the ins., Found out the billing department used the wrong code. Several months later and several calls, including my insurance contacting them directly- never resolved. Next visit the front office demanded that I pay it before I was seen. I was out of my thyroid medication so I paid it, but told her that I would probably look for another doctor. Front office said, "so you want to be discharged after today?" She had also said, "I am just the messenger, our billing is handled through another office." Obviously they could care less about the patient. Very disappointed. Dr Hancock was awesome the last time he treated me, however, Dicki Oglesby, the owner as she calls herself, is not. I was considered a new patient after not seeing Hancock for a while, my doctor had to refer me back to him, and I was accepted after speaking with the office manager and giving her all my information I had to wait months for the next available appointment. My appointment was on Friday at 3, I showed up and was told I missed my appointment, even though my doctor had a confirmation letter stating the date and time of my appointment, so they rescheduled me until Monday (today). Today I was told they are no longer accepting new patients with my insurance and they can not see me. They knew the insurance I had when I was referred, they knew the insurance I had when I spoke to the office manager, they knew the insurance I had when I showed up for my correct appointment on Friday and they rescheduled me, but now they are just telling me this at my second appointment?? Dicki refused anyone in that office to give me a denial letter, and she refused to give me one personally. I am livid that I have waited months for my scheduled appointment over a serious health matter and now cannot be seen after having many conversations with this office, NONE including that they will not take my insurance now. I will be giving all this information to my attorney seeing as this is unjust and will have effects on my health due to the negligence of this office and of Dicki. I called Dr. Hancock's office and they had me come in the very next morning. They have been working ever since making sure that I am able to get the insulin that works best for me. Dr. Hancock is great. He is patient and has a great 'bed side' personality. Doctors should be concerned about their patients being well. Dr. Hancock cares. I would recommend him to anyone.
