I was impressed with my doctor and his staff, my first time visit was great, in fact I am looking forward to my next visit coming up. Every one was nice and they made me feel welcome. They respected me and I respected them, they definitely works as a team. So I am giving my doctor Llewelyn Lee, MD and his team a five and if I could give them a ten I would. I am so glad that I was referred to them by my doctor Andy J Roussel DPM. Thank you! My nephrologist asked me how long it had been since I had my fistula access checked, we realized it had been a couple years. So he suggested I make an appointment with Vascular Institute of Virginia (VIV). When I first began home hemodialysis in 2017, it seemed that I was at VIV every few months to get scoped because I was having difficulty with my access. After a couple visits the vascular surgeon decided to clamp off some “branching” that was occurring and used a tiny coil like device. I have been problem free ever since and my access has been a breeze. So when I came in recently I was seen by Dr. Llewelyn Lee he inquired about the reason for my visit. When he learned I wasn’t having any issues currently but that my nephrologist suggested a check-up, Dr. Lee could have easily ordered and performed a seemingly unnecessary procedure. And honestly, I would not have objected because I figure he’s the specialist, not me. But Dr. Lee physically examined the access points on my fistula and asked some additional questions and recommended that unless I was strongly inclined otherwise, that we NOT proceed with any internal probing of the access and fistula. Frankly, I was impressed. I’m sure there are many individuals at other clinics who would not pass up an opportunity to chalk up a routine procedure. But given the professional nature of Dr. Lee and everyone I’ve encountered at VIV, I wasn’t surprised. Keep in mind how difficult it is for a former Air Force guy to heap this much praise on a former Army guy. Kidding aside, the doctors, nurses, techs and entire staff at VIV are top notch and worthy of the consideration of anyone seeking vascular work. I consider it fortunate that we have this facility and this team here in Woodbridge. Recently completed second Venaseal procedure for varicose veins. Dr. Lee is a consummate professional. Would recommend highly to anyone regarding vein issues.
