Dr. Lisa Marie Karres

Absolutely love Dr Karres! She is hands down the best doctor I have had. The first time I met with her, she sat down and reviewed my previous medical records with me page by page. I have never had a doctor do that! I've been going to her for 4 years now and will continue to go to her! She always listens to my concerns!

Keeps changing my meds around everytime I see her. It's getting very old. Front desk needs to lighten up a bit. Not professional at all. Bout to find another Dr that actually cares.

Office staff rude. They tell you one thing and do another. No one’s on the same page. A lot of miscommunication and false information.

She didn't seem like a doctor; more like a little kid, always had a smirk on her face. I am diabetic, wasn't taking care of myself, when I complained that I never felt well, just smirked and said something like "well, you're not exactly taking care of yourself," without really doing anything about it. Requested a diabetes workshop, never was sent to one. Just a brief overview. I have a new doctor now, and she lit a fire under me and said if I don't work hard on it, she won't see me anymore, that she works hard for me and I'd better work hard for her. Now, some might not like that, but that is EXACTLY what I needed, a swift kick in the behind. I feel Dr. Karres just kind of coasts along afraid to ruffle any feathers. The nurses seemed inept, as well. I had to over and over correct the list of meds that I was on, spell them, etc. Used poor grammar, looked sloppy, not professional. The front desk staff wasn't the most friendly, either, not that I've really met any that are.

Her demeanor is extremely uncaring. I agree with a previous post saying she just randomly walks out of the room and leaves you not sure what you're supposed to do next. She prescribed me meds for mental health, and when I came back and told her I was still having my bad symptoms, she literally said "aww" without looking up from her laptop and made no recommendations for what to do about it. Getting a new doctor has been life-changing from me.

Started seeing Dr. Karres last year. Appreciate how to doctor takes time to listen to concerns. Dr. Karres also does a great job explaining everything and looking ahead for next steps and goals.

Not impressed at all. Have seen her several times and it's just a general visit. Has no interest in my use concerning cbd products and it's benefits. Seems like the same ole same routine. Nothing special, she doesn't explain in detail enough what she's talking about in reference to my issues. I've been looking for another doctor who'll go beyond the norm to help a patient feel they are getting the best care. She's no different then Dr.Donnard, quick to offer a prescription. I feel like they think like this, >>let's wait until something happens then we'll deal with it. Nope! No! I would prefer a healthy solution now not after the damage. Yes she's nice but nice isn't good enough. Preventative options are always the best for patients. Not impressed at all. Have seen her several times and it's just a general visit. She is a great Doctor and has always been very diligent when it comes to my care.

Dr Karres truly cares about your health and she has great follow-up. I have never felt rushed and I have never felt more comfortable with a doctor in my life ????????. Two thumbs up.

Dr. Karres is a very caring person and easy to talk to regarding health needs and concerns.

Had to educate staff on prior medical procedures. Over charged for procedure. Attitudes could use some work- keep it professional and friendly, your patients are customers.

Over charges for services; tries to charge insurance for services under other description; after insurance continually denies the incorrectly billed claims they try to charge the customer fees as now the bill is “past due” even after you have tried to pay the bill in the past on your own. Staff is not very educated on past Medical procedures, sad when the patient has to correct those caring for them and then get billed an amount that does not reflect the services provided.

I've been a patient of Dr Karres for approx 4 years. At first I really liked her, but now I'm going to switch to a different doctor. I'm overweight, and very well aware of that. Instead of having a thoughtful conversation to me about it (which would be fine), she makes snide remarks every single time I see her. So, if you're overweight, don't pick her, unless you want to walk out of there feeling worse about yourself than when you walked in. She treats my husband with respect since he's of normal weight.

Doctor documented comments in my file that were not discussed or tested. No follow up with me after imaging.

She suggested one of the medicines that the VA had me on was causing my low testosterone, VA doctors never once mentioned that. I am now off of it and feel like I am getting better.

She's very nice, my mother, my self, and my daughter are ALL patients of hers. Ive never had a bad incident here, she was able to help my daughter when her own pediatricians could not.

She is a caring physician that will go above & beyond for her patients . Office staff friendly and knowledgeable

Dr Karres has always been very caring, very professional & has taken care of my medical problems or referred me to a Specialist. I really appreciate having Dr Karres as my Doctor.

Established what I thought was a good doctor/patient relationship about three years ago. Trouble started when she failed to diagnose a serious, potential deadly illness I had been fighting for years. A different doc reviewed Karres' notes and same bloodwork and diagnosed me within a minute, started me on meds immediately. I should have known then. A different, and final situation: called in to get refill on prescription voicemail line for controlled substance. Picked up refill and took it in. Realized when I got home Karres was tapering me off meds without notice. Called office to ask why and was yelled at by Stephanie (rude and unprofessional) for not calling in for 3 month appt. and because of that, Karres was taking me off meds. No discussion, nothing. I am still having symptoms. Did not offer appt., didn't offer different meds. Just scolded me for not making the follow up and therefore, being punished for not remembering to call in. It is obvious they run on emotions and not professionalism or experience. Karres' actions, as well as Stephanie's, prove they do not care about their patients. Getting angry and yelling over the phone does not help anyone. I had trusted her with my care and she failed miserably. I would not recommend her to anyone. Dr. Karres is kind, smart, and she's my favorite doctor I've ever had! I highly recommend her. Other reviewers have said that she won't continue meds if you miss an appointment. That may be because she is legally required to see you to continue on some meds.

The reception staff are unprofessional and violate HIPPA; the doctor dis no follow-up to the cause of my mini-strokes; and her nurse needs to perform within the scope of her credentials as a nurse. The office manager needs to be fired as she is not professional and allows her staff to violate HIPPA!

Horrible. Will change your scripts w/out talking to you first. Stephanie, her so-called nurse, is rude and will yell at you if you miss appt. She is unprofessional and uncaring. If you don't schedule your follow-up Karres will take you off your meds and refuse to refill and not offer new meds. nor offer a follow-up so you can get refill or discuss options.Misdiagnosed a major, serious disease. A different doc reviewed Karres' notes and blood work and diagnosed me within minutes. Run.

I've never had such frustration with a doctor and her office: -when I found a lump in my breast and it was benign, she told me it's sometimes recommended that we don't do self examinations because we find things that don't exist. -she forced me to come in for birth control because I "needed" a Pap smear. When I came in, she asked why I was there since I already had one the year before. It has been an ongoing fight for me to have regular prescriptions from her and the staff! I'm so frustrated.

I have been with Dr. Lisa since she came to Newark and I adore her. She has taken very good care of me and I trust her completely. She is a wonderful doctor and I highly recommend her!

Dr Karres is the best. She is very caring and listens to my needs.

I would not recommend Dr. Lisa Karres. Very POOR "MEDICAL KNOWLEDGE AND POOR MEDICAL SERVICE! I had the worst "doctor /patient" experience with her. She has no bed side manner. She walks into "the office/ visit" like a Zombie, never taking into consideration "my personal medical history/records", never looking up from her laptop only checking off the "standard patient questions". I would not waste YOUR time going to her for any minor or serious medical issues. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS POOR.

She was very kind and friendly. Exams always go well and she keeps mood light so everything goes smoothly.

Please do not go see this woman. Since I'm limited to characters I'll condense this- she almost ruined my life. If you have ANY kind of physical condition, RUN AWAY. All she will do for you is write you referrals to see other Dr.s. She does nothing herself. By the time I chose a new Dr. I was so ill in so many ways I almost needed to be hospitalized. Thankfully my new Dr. has gotten me mostly stable but I had some serious health issues that she should have caught over the time I was seeing her!!

Lisa is very inept and uncaring. She NEVER explains procedures, etc., to the patient. She NEVER spends more than 5-8 minutes with her patient. She always leaves the examination room unexpectedly and without notice. The patient is left wondering, "Is she returning?", "Is she prescribing me a RX?" -- I am NOT pleased with the quality of care she attempts to give. Final Rating: EXTREMELY POOR, the LOWEST.
