Dr Hunsicker is truly THE SURGEON to see in Colorado! She is so professional and yet puts you at ease. I was terrified for my double mastectomy after seeing so many horror stories. Dr. Hunsicker did a beautiful job on my nipple sparing direct-to-implant breast reconstruction surgery. She is a fabulous specialist who treated me like I was her only patient, answering all my questions thoroughly and patiently. Her office staff and OR team are extremely personable and professional. Dr. Hunsicker’s holistic approach to healthcare and well being enabled me to go home the evening of surgery; unbelievable! I highly recommend Dr Hunsicker and direct-to-implant surgery! GRLFGHT!

I met with Dr. Hunsicker in the Summer of 2018 as I recently discovered I was BRCA1+. She was one of the few surgeons I knew who would perform DTI OTM and I was a candidate. I was impressed with the attention to detail by her and her staff. She was very thorough at the appointments, gave me all the time I needed asking questions. I was given medication lists as to what & when to take which was less stress on my end. My results are wonderful, I couldn't be happier. I recommend Dr. Hunsicker.

From the first contact with the office, I felt like I found a perfect fit. The entire staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. I had a double mastectomy with reconstruction on the same day. I was totally blow away that this was even an option for me! After surgery, my recovery went very smooth because of the care that I was given both before and after surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Hunsicker and her staff to anyone seeking breast reconstruction.

I was diagnosed in October 2017 with Breast Cancer. I met Dr. Hunsicker right after being diagnosed. She told me what I needed to do and I listened. Dr. Hunsicker is a perfectionist! When I went into surgery, I was hoping for my cancer journey to be over and it was! Completely DONE with only 1 surgery! After My surgery I could finally go back to living instead of being on hold and waiting for more surgeries. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Hunsicker!!!

Dr. Hunsicker did my double mastectomy with a bilateral reconstruction surgery about 3 1/2 years ago due to having breast cancer. She was caring and honest about what needed to be done. I am in fact going back to her for other surgeries needed. I will never use anyone for my surgical needs. She is above and beyond the best of the best!! By far, dr appt I've ever had. I went in to discuss breast reconstruction options after mastectomy. Instead, she told me that I should be considering gastric bypass surgery, when my BMI and weight are not even high enough to qualify for gastric bypass. She was cold, demeaning, dismissive, and impersonal. Physical exam consisted of her measuring from one shoulder to the other, nothing further. Barely discussed reconstruction options with me. Charged me for a full 2 hr consult, spent only 30 min.

-if you are transgender, do NOT seek the help of this doctor- I'm a transgender man, and last year I was looking to get top surgery. She was the only surgeon in my area that accepted my insurance so I booked a surgery consultation appointment. I was informed that her office had a strict "no naked talk" policy, which meant that I would only be naked for the minimal amount of time. Instead I was shirtless for forty five minutes while the doctor made disparaging comments about my body. It was assumed by the full staff that I only ate junk food because I'm a few lbs overweight when in actuality at the time I generally wasn't allowing myself more than a cup of coffee a day. She told me I needed to lose weight (a dangerous instruction for someone with an eating disorder) and did so with my shirt off, breasts exposed (you trans guys know exactly how hard that is - I ended up dissociating, being unable to work that day, and nearly losing my job as a result of this). She said she refused to operate on me until I lost enough weight because I would "look weird" which completely neglected the purpose of my surgery, which was to alleviate psychological turmoil, not win a bathing suit contest. I cried for easily twenty minutes while she continued to disparage me and set up hoops for me to jump through, threatening to take away my surgery if I did not comply. Needless to say I booked it out of there and never called back. But of course, their office then billed my insurance five hundred dollars for the visit. It was a prime example of medical abuse. The surgeon I eventually did see, who told me I was fine to operate on regarding weight, did a fantastic job, and I look great. More importantly, I feel great. But the trauma of what happened at Revalla isn't going to be so easy to forget. PART 2...from Loretta. I am so grateful that my female Doctor OB-GYN educated me on the option of having a bilateral mastectomy. My 66 year old breast tissue had all the activity (normal and abnormal) of a 30 year old one. Since when do 66 year old breasts start improving instead of sagging? I've done the chemo thing in the past. It is not normal to risk my life over "suspicious" areas. Inaction is foolish. I encourage you to do research and educate yourself by calling Dr Hunsicker, my lifesaver

I saw Dr. Hunsicker regarding reconstruction after a breast cancer diagnosis. She told me I should consider weight loss surgery, instead. Her demeanor is quite rude and cold. People that are overweight, know they are overweight. We do not need someone like her to tell us. I would never recommend her to anyone. Fighting a cancer diagnosis is quite difficult, her attitude made me feel horrible.

I am so glad that I did my research and found Dr. Hunsicker. As a BRCA patient I knew I should have options and after finding Dr. H, it was clear that she and her staff were worth the drive from Ft Collins. The office visits were informative, she was patient with my questions, she made me feel confident that I would have great results and I did!

I had a very good experience with Dr. Hunsicker and her staff. I had a breast augmentation and mini-tummy tuck. The entire experience, including all pre-op and post-op visits, was great. Dr. Hunsicker made sure I was in full and complete health and that I knew what to expect. My post-op recovery was very smooth and pain free. I'm very happy with my results and would highly recommend Dr. Hunsicker to anyone!

Dr. Hunsicker is very knowledgeable and helps patients prepare for surgery emotionally as well as physically. She showed me options for my breast reconstruction. All my questions were answered. I had a concern over a holiday and Dr. Hunsicker responded quickly and never made me feel like I was bothering her. Her entire staff is very caring. Colleen, the physician assistant is knowledgeable and guides you through the process step by step.

Many of my friends have had breast cancer... and reconstruction. Their surgeons used spacers and they had to go in for several surgeries. I found Dr. Hunsicker and she told me the she can reconstruct at the time of the mastectomy and go directly to implants. Only one surgery, and done. None of the ladies I knew who had gone through reconstruction believed this was possible. They told me all the reasons why it wouldn't work.... I'm six weeks out. I am healing beautifully. I have zero restrictions. I still have my nipples. And I don't need to keep going back for more procedures. More surgeons need to learn this procedure. Receiving the news that you need a mastectomy is difficult to deal with. Reconstruction decisions are difficult. After consulting with several plastic surgeons I'd been referred to, I chose Dr. Lisa Hunsicker and the Direct Implant procedure at the time of the mastectomy. I had a double mastectomy and breast implant reconstruction all in ONE surgery! I am so very thankful I chose Dr. Hunsicker. She performed an Excellent reconstruction for me and was kind, compassionate and very concerned about my health. Her staff has been very professional, efficient and friendly. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Lisa Hunsicker and her staff at Revalla. She is the BEST in my opinion! I very, very highly recommend Dr. Hunsicker! I had a double mastectomy with immediate implants, & I didn?t even know it was possible to be able to go to sleep & then wake up with new breasts a few hours later until I met Dr. Hunsicker. That was such a huge emotional positive! Dr. Hunsicker & everyone in her office cares & were always there to help & to answer every question I had. They literally made having breast cancer so much easier ? I am very blessed and thankful to have found her.

After testing positive for a BRCA2 mutation, I decided to have a preventative double mastectomy. Dr. Hunsicker did my reconstruction. When I decided to go direct-to-implant using textured silicone teardrop implants, she helped me prep for surgery with a detailed to-do list, which really helped me feel in control of the process. The surgery went great, and the recovery has been very smooth. I'm back at work at 6 weeks, and visually, I'm so happy with the results!

I chose the procedure where an implant is put in immediately following the mastectomy. Dr Hunsicker is very experienced in this procedure and I am very pleased with the outcome. She takes a holistic approach to prepare you for surgery and a strong recovery. Her team is professional and very knowledgeable. I received exceptional care both pre and post op.

Dr. Hunsicker is a fantastic doctor with amazing staff and they are pay excellent attention to detail both pre and post operative. I have referred at least 10 people to Dr. Hunsicker because of the excellent results I received and the fact that she is one of the most caring and down to earth doctors ever. My tummy tuck looks fantastic and I could not be more pleased with the results and the care given to me by her and her amazing staff.
