I just had a brief phone consult with Dr Beisel and would echo the comments in other reviews. Just...odd and uncomfortable even over the phone. Spending 20 minutes on the phone with this woman gave me all the information I needed to know — she should not be working anywhere NEAR the mental health field. I have genuinely never spoken to someone so condescending and egotistical who calls themselves a doctor in my life and I'm nearly 30. I couldn't talk without being talked over, I found myself apologizing for the way I expressed my needs multiple times and proceeded to try and dig into "why I have CPTSD" after telling me she's not a therapist and right before cutting me off again saying she'd send me an email. I had no idea if and when I was allowed to talk and she seemed intent on misunderstanding me and making me feel like I was smaller than she was. Our entire conversation was extremely unprofessional and downright inappropriate. I told her I wanted consistency and she said, "is it because of some fear of abandonment you have?" No? I just want consistency, I'm trying to switch over from a practice that can't seem to keep the same staff for longer than a few weeks and I'd like to see the same person more than once? I think that's a perfectly reasonable, and it's just one of many inappropriate comments she made. I thought I might've been overreacting going as far as to look her up just to write this review but looking at the others, I don't feel so bad. Find another profession. Preferably not with people who are looking for help. I actually was a saw Dr. Beisel over 10 years ago. That was my first experience with a psychiatrist and the experience was horrible. She was arrogant and rude. Her medication regimen wasn’t working for me, but she insisted that what I was taking and the dosage was appropriate. I was naive and couldn’t fathom the idea a doctor not providing the best patient care possible. She made me feel like my depression was my fault in a way…. like I wasn’t committed to therapy. It was a horrible experience and years later I was terrified at the thought of seeking out a new psychiatrist. So far so good. Changing Doctors can be challenging, making the transition to her has been smooth.

She asked for cash because you can't refund cash. She's insanely judgmental and lets you know that during her appointment. I wish I did more research, what a waste of time.

Dr. B has been a godsend for me. I came to her with deep anxiety and depression. She was flexible working with my schedule and my medicines (I have an underlying health issue that can make prescribing complicated) and I feel the best I have in years. I feel much better after each visit, and cannot say enough good things!.

She was rude and unprofessional. she didnt hear everything I had to say before drawing conclusions and passive-aggressive. I unfortunately did not research Beisel before seeking out her services for a second opinion regarding medication I may be placed on. She is a trash psychiatrist. She is a casual racist and asks impertinent questions about a person’s legal status in the United States, and passes judgement based on skin color, like “Oh, what are you? Italian? Hispanic?” or “Were you educated through DACA?” NO, I’m an American, and I went to school as a citizen. (Surprise Dr Quackers, a person can’t be ‘educated through DACA’ because it’s not a school, it’s a deportation deferment program, you babbling potato.) I can soundly agree and back up other reviewer’s claims of her treating her clients as a paycheck. I will absolutely not be returning to her and am looking into ways to potentially report her to whatever governing body licenses her. Not only that, but it was unbelievably unprofessional of her to begin discussing my condition in the waiting room without the expectation of privacy, and once she looked over the introductory packet, she began using accusatory language to make it seem like I was “genetically predisposed to addiction”. She used very hurtful language when it came to my medication dosage like, “Wow you take one mg of _____, that’s a STOUT DOSE. I’m very conservative in my prescriptions, so I won’t be prescribing that.” This was all aside from the snide comments about my relationships, the making faces as I talked, the scoffing as I recounted very painful memories, and otherwise shaming me for having a messed up family history (as if it was my fault). I am thankful I have such an amazing supportive group of friends because this ONE consultation gave me one of the worst anxiety attacks I’ve ever experienced. I left feeling worse about myself and my condition than when I walked in, and I was just going in for a second opinion about medication. I can’t imagine what it would have been like for someone seeking a deeper level of assistance. She is a dangerous woman with a license and prescription pad and I will never go back to her. Dr. Beisel did everything in her power to give me the easiest transition and accommodate my needs when I moved to Austin. Even when I had a hard time transferring my records and getting them to her, she treated me with compassion and flexibility. She was very accommodating in scheduling appointments that fit my college schedule and my experience with her was wonderful.

Very knowledgeable. Made an informed diagnosis on my anxiety. Prescribed the right medications to help me. Did a great job and I am very thankful that I found her.

Dr. Beisel is very unprofessional and rude. I felt as though she was not concerned about me as a patient at all, but more worried about how much she was going to get paid. I was shocked at how unprofessional she was and the manor in which she presented herself. She at time can be very condescending and acts as if she is better then others.

Dr. Beisel was very informative and thorough with my diagnosis. She is very knowledgeable and made me feel valued as a patient.

For the first time in my life, my depression and anxiety are under control due to Dr. B's knowledge of medications and willingness to be aggressive with the titration. She always asks questions to monitor the efficacy and side effects and will change things up to get the best results. She's timely and it's very easy to reach her assistant if you have any questions.

Visited 2x. Found her inappropriate and judgemental. She couldn't remember our first session or apparently read her notes and was insistent that I review my childhood trauma with her in detail. This is not required for medication maintenance. In response to my citing a misdemeanor DUI that prompted my therapy more than a decade ago she tried to make AA a requirement of my sessions.???She has strange fee tiers - like $20 for prescription refills.

Dr Beisel is one of the worst communicators I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. She is a terrible listener, and frequently interrupts answers to ask new questions. She drastically misinterpreted the things I told her, to such a degree that I have no confidence in her diagnoses. Her education and knowledge seemed pretty good- I'm not saying she's stupid! Just that I feel like she was using our painful interview to build a description of an imaginary person that I barely recognize.

Had no compassion when I was going through a very tough time with depression. I was in tears not only because of the depression, but because of my experience with her harsh, uncaring treatment. I would never recommend anyone go to her.

I was appalled when her receptionist said Dr Beisel only takes patients that are easy. No joke. Word for word!!

I just got off the phone with their receptionist who basically told me that she would be holding a "tryout" to see if the doctor would even want to see me or not. She then proceeded to tell me that they did not take my insurance, I still wanted to know more so I kept listening and when I asked a question a few minutes later she jumped down my throat and got very unprofessional and rude with me. I was letting her know a little more about my situation and she abruptly interrupted me and said, " let's just get down to it, can you afford it without insurance?" Extremely rude and unprofessional.
