An amazing surgeon. I have complete confidence in her abilities.

The office staff at this office raises incompetence and arrogant to new levels. A MRI was performed and the office requested the disc. After forty days and multiple calls, the office manager "found" the disc on the doctors desk. This surgery was put on hold over a month due to sheer incompetence. The office manager takes no responsibility and actually blamed my mother (75) and demanded she drive around Kansas and retrieve a disc that is actually on her desk. Between the delays, demands, and arrogance on the part of the staff, my mother refuses to deal with this staff again. A new doctor was consulted and we have gone from a over night stay and robotic surgery to out patient surgery. The doctor may be excellent but she is completely out of touch with her office staff this office needs to be purged and to start over.

This was my first visit with Dr. O'Brien. I was nervous, but she quickly made me feel comfortable. She is easy to talk to. She took time to really listen. I have confidence in her knowledge and experience. She gave her opinion of what I should do next, and I have no hesitation in following her recommendations.

I can highly recommend Dr. O'Brien. She is a skilled surgeon and adds to that so much compassion for her patients. It is a comfort to have such a caring, knowledgable health provider. I give high marks, too, to her staff. I especially single out her assistant, Jami.

My visit to Dr. Lina O'Brien was exceptional. I was very apprehensive about going to the appointment but was put at ease by Dr. O'Brien and her staff. She took the time to explain everything to me and answer all my questions. All of the staff that I dealt with were also very caring and professional. I would highly recommend Dr. O'Brien to anyone.

Dr. O'Brien operated on me using the robotic method. From the first appointment to the final one she was pleasant, always seemed interested in my thoughts, and inquisitive on signs and symptoms. I was fully informed on different recovery phases and what to expect and the surgery was a breeze. Best surgery experience I have had. I never waited more than 10 minutes for an office visits.

Consult for surgery. Dr. O’Brien is very professional. I am in pre-hospital emergency medicine and work with a lot of physician’s. She has one of the best bed side manners I have ever seen. Truly cares for her patients.

Dr. O'Brien is very thorough, listens carefully, answers all questions and presents a detailed overview of what is happening and the options. It took 3 months to get in as a new patient but I believe it was totally worth it. She came highly recommended from personal friends, my GI doctor and my medical doctor.

Dr O'Brien has been an asset to my healthcare for over a year now. Her office always replies promptly to any questions or scheduling needs and more importantly this is a doctor who truly listens to what you are saying. In my experience, many doctors and surgeons in particular, tend to read the chart and leave out the patient's input. If you are looking for sound advice from a doctor who not only is a leading surgeon in her field but who takes the time to make you understand your options, this is your doctor.

What can I say? I think Dr. O'Brien is amazing and recommend her to people regularly... there's a reason it can take awhile to get in as a new patient! So think ahead and get scheduled now!

I recently have been under the care of Dr. O’Brien after being treated with very limited successes by other medical practices. Dr. O’Brien quickly identified my medical issue, listened carefully to my concerns and questions and then presented a well thought out multiphase plan to address my medical problem. I have confidence for the first time in months regarding the care I am now receiving. I was referred to Dr. O’Brian by a family member in medical practice, as well as a friend who is also a patient of Dr. O’Brien. I strongly recommend Dr. O’Brien and Colorectal Surgery Associates.

After a colonoscopy my GI physician recommended I see Dr. O'Brien to repair a prolapse. It took almost 4 months to get in to see her but she is worth the wait. She immediately puts you at ease and has a very caring attitude. She takes whatever time you need to discuss your case. I am now 5 weeks post surgery and am extremely pleased with the results. I would highly recommend her.

First visit was a home run. Dr. Lina was warm, professional and clearly explained my medical situation and what she planned to do about it. Very calm and straightforward- made me feel calm and at ease.

I would not recommend O'Brien. I waited an hour and a half past my appointment time before she saw me. She has no bedside manner at all. And her demeanor showed that she was annoyed by questions. I will say that I believe she answered questions honestly, she was not forthcoming with information regarding what to expect and the procedure. If you didn't ask specifically about something, she didn't venture to tell you. She hurriedly left the room without so much as a goodbye or pleased to meet you. Seemed very blaise and unfeeling about giving bad medical news. Displayed as much compassion as her DaVinci Robot. I would not recommend O'Brien. If I could give a zero star rating, I would.

Highly recommended by my physicians and friends, Dr. O'Brien lived up to all the praise I'd heard. She had read my medical history before meeting with me, she listened to my concerns, and presented an easy to understand plan of care for me. She was able to describe the reasons behind her recommendations and how they would benefit my care and recovery. She appeared to care about me and allowed me ample time to ask questions and participate in my care plan.

Dr. O'Brien is very pleasant, has great bedside manners, and explains things very well. She listens and gives plenty of opportunity to ask questions. I never felt rushed while she visited me in the hospital or when I was in her office.

I have been receiving care from Colorectal Surgical Associates and Dr. Lina O’Brien, in particular, since early in 2014. My experience with them has been truly life-changing – moving through a serious illness onto being fully restored to health and leading a fulfilled life. Dr. O’Brien is a delight to work with – great listener; meaningfully responsive to questions and issues; always courteous; highly professional; and a exudes a good sense of humor. The culture of this practice is obviously top-down driven because the staff has always been supportive in every way possible. Appointments are a breeze and I cannot remember ever having to wait very long for someone to see me. I highly recommend and endorse this practice!

From the moment Dr. O'Brien greeted me, she made me feel comfortable & at ease prior to a delicate exam. She is extremely competent, listened to my concerns, and prescribed an OTC product (which I greatly appreciated) to solve my issue. Another doctor prescribed a very expensive medicine, which I couldn't afford. Her & her staff are efficient, and have my highest recommendation. I would rate her above a five-star rating.

Dr O'Brien was recommended to me by my PCP and he was spot on. The office is friendly and efficient, the clinical support staff was courteous and attentive and Dr. O'Brien was engaging and professional. I felt as though the patient was the priority from the time I entered the office until my departure. I felt that Dr O'Brien was unhurried, thorough in evaluating my concern, easily understood in her explanation of a care plan and open to my questions.

Very kind and actually listens to you instead of focusing on entering information into the computer. She has a nurse that takes notes during the appointment so she can focus on the patient. Dr. O’Brien performed a surgery for me and was excellent. I’m grateful that she was highly recommended.

I am a very complicated case; I was actually headed to Houston for my ostomy revision/relocation surgery earlier this year and went to Dr. O'Brien at the recommendation of a nurse from another hospital; I thought I would meet with her and just get another opinion before heading to Houston. I was so confident in her and her skills as a surgeon, that I stayed in KC and had her do my surgery (my 25th in 40 years). Best decision I have ever made; shes a phenomenal surgeon and a good human being!
