Despite all the previous negative reviews Dr Saavedra and staff are amazing very caring and professional I highly recommended this office to everyone.
I have been a patient of Dr. Saavedra for more that 12 years after been seen by other psychiatrists in Orlando and Miami and I am grateful I found her because she saved my life with the care, time and treatment needed. I have recommend Dr. Saavedra to colleagues and have been very please with her. I would recommend her with no hesitation to anyone in need of a caring, knowledgeable psychiatrist. When I first had an appointment with Dr Saavedra in 2006 I had to a very long wait to see her. When it was my turn, I understood why. She took her time to go over everything that was disturbing me. I had just gotten out of the psych ward with my Schizo-affective disorder... Up to this point I would find myself hospitalized every 2 years on average since 1985. From my visits with her through the time I relocated to another state in 2009, she cared for me and patiently and thoroughly uncovered everything battling my mind.. It did not matter how long the other patients had to wait while I was with her.. And I certainly understood why I was waiting.. Others in the waiting room with me understood as well... It has now been 13 years since I have ever been admitted to a psych ward and I am very stable and mentally fit.. Yes. She will tell you about what to do about yourself, but isn't that what someone who truly loves you would do? I have excelled from the advice she gave me. It's not a surprise that top professionals and other doctors seek her. I treasure her grooming me and will always appreciate her professional care.. Dr. Saavedra and I sat and talked for less than an hour. Thoughout that time she told me 1) I need to lose 10 pounds (LITERALLY) 2) Women’s weight WILL impact me finding a decent man 3) I NEED a man in my life in order to be validated and fulfilled. When I come to someone expressing concerns of harming myself, I don’t want them to RANDOMLY point out that I’m overweight, OR that in order to feel better I need a husband? If anything, I feel worse than when I initially came in. I will not be returning and I urge all others to stay away. Dr. Saavedra and I sat and talked for less than an hour. Horrible. Tried to schedule new patient appointment and the receptionist demanded to know what medications I am currently prescribed. After telling her she said the doctor won't prescribe The immediate release (which costs $25 to fill without insurance) and will only prescribed Time release version which only costs $425 to fill without insurance. I'm sure she's getting kickbacks from the pharmaceutical companies. Great business practice prescribed what makes you money not what saves your patients money. I've been taking it for four years thus I'm not changing so don't tell me you know what works for me. Scam! Horrible. Dr Saavedra is one of the most caring and knowledgeable physicians it has been my honor to know.
I have been seeing Dr. Saavedra for over 10 years. I was working a public safety job and i am bi polar with extreme anxiety. She listens to me because im honest with her and i listen to her directions. I am a difficult patient as my body has bad side effects on certain medicine. This lady is intelligent and she knows if you arent sincere. I cant say enough about Tracy who works the front desk. What a gem. She is so sincere and compassionate. I dont know what i would do with out her.
Dr. Saavedra has been treating me for over 9 years and I trust her a lot. She is compassionate, knowledgeable and will always tell you the truth. She has succeeded where other providers have failed for me. If you have an emergency she will always get you in, which leads to my only complaint, that she is always running behind. But the excellence of care is worth waiting for.

Over 10 years as a patient. I don't mind the wait time because I know that the doctor takes the appropriate time with each patient, even if that means waiting a bit longer for my appointment. She has definitely gone above and beyond for me and spent more time when needed.

Horrible experience after hearing good things about her. Took me off medication after only one meeting and half rushing me out the door told me to call if I had problems but didn't want to set up a follow up. She told me a week was all I needed to come off the medications but I experienced horrible withdrawals. I found out a week was NOT enough time to come off antidepressants only after visiting a new doctor because the withdrawal pains were so bad and the depression had worsened. I went to Dr. Saavedra for my anxiety, after waiting for an hr to see her I went into her office were she sat in front of me and very coldly asked why I was there. I told her I have been having anxiety/nightmares and she asked why I thought I was having nightmares. I said I wasn't sure and gave her about a 2 minute summary of myself when she said she thought I needed to be on 2 separate daily medications, I told her I was uneasy about them and she brushed off my concerns. I was with her for less than 10 minutes. After when I was checking out at the reception desk the girl at the counter told me I didn't have a copay with my insurance because I had met my deductible for the year. So I left the office and scheduled an appt with my regular internist. He told me not to take the pills and find another therapist for my anxiety. I started to get dozens of calls from an unknown number, I finally figured out that it was Dr. Saavedra's office calling me because they gave me incorrect information before and I actually owed them a $40 copay. They also sent me an invoice that said they were going to send me to collections for not paying the $40. Stay far far away from this office, unless you are interested in a pill pusher and don't actually care about your health. I have never had a psychiatrist ever and I found Dr. Saavedra. She listened, she clearly knew the problem, removed me from all my medication. Corrected the "issue" and now I have my life back. She is a wonderful doctor and I just want everyone to know. She will help you, if you want to be helped. I recommend her to anyone looking for a doctor to tell you the truth. If you are considering a doctor, understand that you do not want someone that will placate you, that will tell you what you want to hear and then over medicate you. You want someone to find out what the problem is and how to fix it. She did exactly what I needed her to do. She will do the same for you but you have to come talk with her and she will tell you in her professional opinion what the problem is, what we are going to do to correct the problem and how we move forward. She doesn't rush you out of the office either. She lets you talk, she listens and she advises up to you to take control of your health. I am not paid by her, nor am I affiliated with Dr. Saavedra or anyone that works for Dr. Saavedra, nor was I asked to provide this review. I want people to know the truth that she's the real deal. After coming to Dr. Saavedra with anxiety & depression, she recommended I get off the very low doses of medication I was on. I agreed and started to step down with them. In two months I came to her asking if we could slow down the progression as I was having a lot of panic attacks and wasn't able to deal with stress at work without having a meltdown. She called me a drug seeker and went on a tirade about white people needing pills and that's why her people were outcompeting us for jobs. Bad doc.
I waited an hr to see her about my anxiety. She literally talked to me for about 2 minutes and then pulled out her script pad to prescribe 2 different meds. She had no interest in talking and seemed to be more interested in pushing pills then getting to the root of my anxiety. When I checked out the girl at the desk said I didn't have a copay and then they called my cell phone dozens of times without leaving voicemails because there turned out to be a $40 copay.

This doctor degraded me and said I wouldn't be able to pursuer a career in my field of choice based on her assessment. It may have taken 8 years but I was able to achieve my goals with the help of another physician and psychotherapist. Excercise caution if you exhibit any signs of depression. She will baker act you in a New York minute.
Arrived 10 min early for appointment to check in. Reception although nice, did not alert me that the doctor was running late when I arrived. I waited to see if they would update me that the wait may be longer. No one bothered, other patients came and went , I was still waiting. I finally told the receptionist that I couldn't wait because I had another appointment elsewhere and even though my appointment time was over an hour ago. I did not reschedule, because this was the 2nd time it happened.

I called this Dr to make an initial intake. I was told she was taking "some" new patients and was asked the reason I wanted to see her. I was denied an intake due to my diagnosis of bipolar I and was explained that she has decided not to take any more patients with bipolar. What kind of Dr is this? I feel totally discriminated by someone in the mental health community. I just want to warn other people with bipolar diagnosis. DO NOT GO TO THIS DR! She obviously does not care about people with this condition. I called this Dr to make an initial intake. I was told she was taking "some" new patients and was asked the reason I wanted to see her. Dr. Saavedra misdiagnosed my daughter, sending her to the hospital. I would not recommend this doctor. She spent a lot of time with my daughter, but she changed her diagnosis after years of her having a bi-polar diagnosis. Her misdiagnosis caused my daughter to spiral into a manic episode. It has been an emotional and financial burden.
