Dr. Lilian Chika Duru

Emotional trauma-inflicting doctor due to severe fat-bias. Does not understand that both Lipedema AND Obesity are actual diseases recognized by the CDC, and neither are controllable by lifestyle choices alone. Dr. Duru fat-shamed me over and over for years while not listening to me, when she could have accurately diagnosed me and helped me if not for the bias against larger people that blocked her objective thought processes. I chose a new doctor a few years ago, and I still feel hurt by my last interaction with her. Please, medical community, get trained on adipose tissue diseases!

Beware of what you advise this person about. I let her know that my insurance did not cover a certain thing and she billed it as that. I've been going round and round with UC Davis about the bill. UC Davis is a joke, Dr. Duru is a joke. Skip at all costs (or it'll cost you a small fortune) $615 for a visit!

I had an introduction appointment where we discussed many things. I advised that my insurance did not cover a certain thing. She coded my appointment to the exact thing I told her my insurance did not cover. Went round and round with her and the team and UC Davis. She refuses to change the code even though it's 100% possible and easy to do. I am now stuck with a $615 bill for the privilege of meeting her.

She is lazy and wants YOU to be the doctor!! She also treats fellow people of color like the dirt under her shoes!! I have sever medical problems & in need of a new doctor due to mine being promoted. I seen reviews & thought Duru would be a great fit. Oh, I was SO wrong!! She should be working at Kaiser because she has no clue of how to deal with those with real health issues. This is no joke & sad. She actually asked me what I want her to do!? Who went to medical school here? I have found a new doctor & he actually cares!!! Having a doctor who cares enough to just listen is priceless. I don't want a miracle but I do want respect & understanding. She is lazy and wants YOU to be the doctor!! Dr.Duru is a kind, caring and cares for her patients. I find her impressive at getting to the core of any health issues. I recommend her highly.

It was the first the I have seen by Dr. Duru but it was perfect! For three weeks that I have suffered with my allergy, coughing / wheezing and she was the one who gave me the right treatment .

Listens to concerns, orders appropriate tests, follows through. Professional, personable, does not rush you through your appoinment. THANK YOU!!!!!
