Excellent care and staff!! Not like other doctors that will just give medicine and be on their way.

I would not recommend this office to anyone. Not because of the doctor but because the staff is extremely rude and inpatient. I left 2 voicemails and never got a return call back. I called a few days later and finally got a live person on the line and she was not pleasant at all. There are better facilities out there who actually care about patient satisfaction. If it hadn't been for Dr. Chen, I would still be on opiates for a situation that actually required surgery and was destroying one of my spinal nerves. Dr. Chen was the only doctor who decided it was necessary to do an MRI to actually identify the CAUSE of the pain. If it hadn't been for Dr. Chen, I would have had the radical surgery ordered by a leading orthopedic surgeon instead of the neurosurgeon she insisted I see for a second opinion. The result? Minimally invasive surgery with half the risk and much less post op pain that even the first doctor warned me about. If it hadn't been for Dr. Chen, I wouldn't have been pain free (because of epidural injections) while waiting for surgery. Through my years of increasing debility from a myriad of arthritic pain issues, Dr. Chen has been an incredibly smart, thorough, and compassionate pillar in my healthcare. She is NOT a slobbery tissue-puller who will commiserate with you; she turns her sympathy into action. She will be starkly honest with you. As a nurse myself, that's what I want. If you don't want the same, find another doctor! I see that many past complaints had to do with front office customer service. I believe there is a new front office assistant (Amber) who presents quite a different level of customer service, though I do not know if Dr. Chen is now taking new patients. Perhaps that's the first question to ask. If you can get in, you will find an excellent standard of care. Ask questions. She loves to teach and explain, and she respects patients who take charge of their own bodies! Dr.Lido Chen provides superior care- diagnostic, medication,& surgical procedures. I saw Dr.Lido Chen monthly for 21 years for pain management -Fibromyalgia,migraines, broken ribs etc. After moving to LA. I was hit by a truck & have catastrophic life time injuries. I was treated by "top" L A. pain Doctors. I ended up deciding it was well worth the hours in traffic & $200.00 Uber fee per to commute to O.C. to get the superior care Dr.Lido Chen provides.

I have seen Dr.Lido Chen and her P A. Donna for over 20 years for chronic pain from Fibromyagia, migraines, and broken ribs. I have had chronic pain for over 40 years and seen many Pain Doctors. Dr.Lodi Chen is superior. Everyone I speak to monthly her her lobby agrees.

My mother was in tremendous pain, and was referred to Dr Chen by a gifted physical therapist. Her employee requested many records, which seemed thorough. Drugs. Lots of them. I hated being hooked on so much . I finally got off all of it and started taking other meds that were not heavy duty as all the benzo's and opiates she gave me and feel the same but no tied to the pull of addiction. It was hard but am happy I did it.

I'm 60, after 15 hr. surgery Trying To Come Off My Meds. Dr. Chen would not take me as a patient! I was told in so many words that if I did not need injections to 'help' me then they were not interested. Be Careful....unless you need years & years of 'injections' no..don't go.

I had what I thought was a general referral from my primary MD to Dr. L. Chen. - almost 15 years ago. Dr. Chen is, as her credentials and certifications would imply is top in the field. Moreover, Dr. Chen is a great listener, compassionate, understanding, hard-core honest (in the best possible way) with regard to what works best for you as a patient; and flexible. I could gush about a Dr. that really took the time to understand (film/scan/scope) to ELIMINATE (mask) my pain which was dilapidating! But with Dr. Chen's care.. it became an afterthought. Dr. Donna R. is also an exceptional professional. This speaks to both Dr. Chen's ability to spot amazing talent, and in Dr. Donna's case rise to the same level of Dr. Chen, in terms of care of patients. Recently, I moved out of state. I literally cannot locate a pain management Dr. with (even one) credentials of Dr. Chen. - AND THIS SCARES ME! If I cannot find a Pain Management Dr. who has not limited tier practice to Oncology, Pediatrics, etc... I will fly to see Dr. Chen every 30 Days. I'd be remiss if I did not mention that along with providing the highest standard of care - lets not forget about the business end of how this all works. Dr. Chen's team includes not only a few good people but an ENTIRE staff of CARING, UNDERSTANDING, and GRACIOUS patient management. Front office: Excellent! Billing and Operations: Excellent! There is no finer pain management, for that matter, I'll say that as an entity Saddleback Pain Care & Management is a "Litmus test" for all other practices. If you have the need - seek them out. You will be doing yourself the largest favor to yourself that you ever could. PS. How many pain management specialists invest a few million on prem surgery center so they could help MORE PATIENTS FASTER!!!!? - And, that too is run by the most wonderful leader; under Dr. Chen. For reference: I'm 45 - Male, and have crushed vert's at L4 S1 and L5 S1 with insane (actually, this is my largest pain to manage: hip joint and sacrum/piriformis) So, while Dr. Chen is gentle and caring of older patients... us "mid life crisis" guys who pushed a little to hard growing up, etc. have a truly competent and caring team to help us/you.
