I have very mixed feelings of Dr. Dabney. On one hand, he treated my symptoms and correctly diagnosed me. On the other hand he had bad bedside manner and used words that I will never forget saying “a little pain is nothing”. He also has documented things that NEVER OCCURRED in the patient portal after our visits, saying things like “patient was educated on blank”, when nothing of the sort ever occurred. This made a very bad impression.

He literally laughed during the exam while counting cysts. No bedside manner whatsoever, pushed birth control and may as well not even have taken the time to talk to me. This is the first Google review I’ve ever done and never has something been such a waste of my time as going to this visit.

My primary care physician recommended Dr. Dabney for a follow up to a health issue outside of her realm. I found Dr. Dabney to be very professional and a very down to earth physician. He also performed my surgery successfully and was available to me when I had other issues develop after the surgery. I’m originally from the Northern VA area and am most definitely pleased to have Dr. Dabney as my gynecologist! D.Sparks

This doctor was very dismissive to my concerns and didn’t ask or give me the chance to speak about how I was feeling. I have a documented history of anxiety and PTSD, it would’ve been nice to have been listened to and reassured.

Very professional and took the time to explain to me the problem that I was having. Gentle and expressed concern. Office staff professional as well.

He is fantastic. He is always kind. He has performed two surgeries on me, & both went perfectly.

Excellent doctor. This office and the doctor is wonderful. The doctor is very thorough and kind with an easy way to communicate with his patients.

He felt the need to shake the extra skin on my belly a few years post emergency c section and a rapid, unexplained weight loss. He said no one would find it attractive. No shiite, Sherlock. My son and I both survived and now I am working on surpassing the next obstacle in life. Should have asked how he put his pants on that morning, since we are obviously so different. Thankful for his medical expertise. Maybe,he missed the day that they taught compassion in med school. Proud of my pouch! Glad my son and I both made it.

The worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. He made me cry. He was aggressive & rude.

Dr.Dabney had no desire to help find or year about my issues kept saying birth control would solve my problems acted as if my symptoms were nothing and was rude about it one star is very generous

I didn't mind the actual visit to the doctor's office but as soon as you move and need to switch doctors, they will not release your medical history to your new doctors office. I am currently needing to see a doctor, and in order for me to even schedule an appointment, the new doctors office need my records. I have been waiting for over a week for Dabney to fax over my medical records and everytime I call them to see what's the hold up, their excuse is "oh, well the person who handles medical records has been filling in as a nurse for the past couple of weeks!" Since when did neglecting your position to do another person's position become acceptable? This is so unprofessional, inconsiderate, and just totally unacceptable! I didn’t have the greatest experience with this doctor. I was heavy bleeding for 7 whole weeks knowing something was wrong with my body. I had to wait for an appointment and unfortunately he, Dr. Dabney, was the only doctor available with this soonest availability. I was not visiting for a normal check, as he treated as such. I was disappointed in the lack of knowledge and information that he was able to provide concerning my bleeding. He continued to tell me that birth control was “all I needed.” I requested a sonogram and he refused. I left feeling unheard and disregarded. My test results came back inconclusive which cause me to be summoned for a repeated PAP SMEAR. I requested another doctor. Thankfully they were able to accommodate me. I went back to do retesting, in which, I as able to then gain education and understanding about what was happening with my body. After a sonogram, that I was able to get this time, they found that I actually had a cyst and a fibroid. I hate to leave a bad review but I think the seriousness of my situation should be disclosed. Dr. Dabney is an amazing doctor that is very knowledgeable. My husband and I were trying to conceive for 2 years. He gave suggestions and advice for the best practices to conceive. When we finally got pregnant he assisted us in doing blood work to make sure our levels are increasing and when we got to the right numbers he preformed the sonogram to ensure the baby was in the right place. I can't say enough good things about him. He listens, cares and is very knowledgeable.I highly recommend him. My husband even commends his bedside manner. I had the pleasure of getting to work with Dr. Dabney today by chance as my provider was out of the office. My interaction with Dr. Dabney was superlative! He thoroughly answered my questions and concerns and provided relief for me during an emotional time. I would highly recommend Dr. Dabney!

Dr Dabney has been my doctor for over 10 years. He is a great person and amazing doctor. He makes you feel at ease and explains everything to you where you can understand. No matter what you're going through you can feel confident that you have all the answers and knowledge you need about your condition.

I had an AWFUL appointment with Dr. Dabney. He was nice and outgoing, but he did not listen to my concerns about my health. Anything I brought up he had a brush off answer for and he kept pushing birth control as a solution. He was offering me treatment with no diagnosis. This isn't the first time a gynecologist has done this to me. I already have birth control from my previous OB/GYN and that didn't work. So he suggested I get another form of birth control ON TOP of the one I already have. Doubling up on birth control? I was hoping to find a gynecologist who would actually listen to my concerns and offer solutions, not just pain management or a quick fix. He also assumed that I self-diagnosed based on my family history and implied I was a young woman with the same fears and hypochondria as other women close to my age. I wanted to find the cause of my pain, not a quick fix. I left feeling disappointed, over-looked, and like my time was wasted. I understand that doctors are busy, but I spent two and a half hours at the office waiting to see the doctor for a grand total of maybe 20 minutes. Like I said, nice guy. I had a wonderful experience. He fixed a problem I have been having for awhile. He is very understanding and caring, the way a doctor should be. I am sorry your experience was so awful. He did listen to me, and we came up with a solution that worked. I really like him because he is not like all the ob/gyn's I have seen before. I was nervous about seeing a male doctor. I almost fainted during my visit due to nerves. He was great! He put me at ease and I felt very comfortable with him. I am a sensitive and insecure person all-around and he made me smile and put my mind at ease. I will never see another gynecologist. He also called me personally with my results. I would highly recommend.

He is wonderful to have and puts you at ease and explains everything to you. I would definitely recommend him to any female!! He even do call backs to check on you if you've had surgery under his care

Not my doc but spoke with him as an on-call physician about a situation I felt was pretty serious. He was vulgar in tone and later in the conversation made a joke about being me being intimate with my husband while on my period. I was equal parts helped and offended.

Completely inappropriate in his conversation. Used crass verbiage when discussing a problem. Would never recommend!

I have loved Dr Dabney since my first visit there. He was the first DR. that I found that would sit down and listen to me and not act like it was all in my head. He has since then done 2 surgeries on me and I have done great each time. I have recommended him to many friends.
