Dr. Les J. Gurwitt

Dr. Gurwitt had my trust immediately.

This was my gynecologist before I was pregnant. I went away for college out of state and found out I was pregnant. (Yeay!) Then we attempt to continue my care back home at 16 weeks. We were told by the front desk woman we'd receive a call back to set up an appointment. I sit and waited for my call back. After some time, I did get a call back requesting records. I comply. Same thing: they would call me back in a week to set up an appointment. I wait. Next call was me being rejected. They lied to me, saying their reason was that I was high risk. That was news to me. My pregnancy had been healthy. I called my original doctor and she confirmed I was low risk. I asked them why I was considered high risk and was never given a straight answer. I asked a friend of mine who was a doctor and he said they were most likely saying that because I had a service animal. It's illegal to reject a person because of a service animal. Long story short: This incident/ game of phone tag caused us to miss our 20 week screening which would have revealed my daughters congenital heart defect. She was born October 18th, 2018 with Transposition of the Great Arteries. Something that would have been caught had I properly continued care in which I couldn't thanks to being rejected by this establishment. So yea, THANKS. I have always received wonderful, compassionate care from Dr. Gurwitt and everyone at Fleur. Beyond thankful for 4 healthy pregnancies and deliveries with them. Dr. Gurwitt does not deliver anymore or take care of pregnancy past the first trimester, I believe, but his compassion and love for the job is evident. I wish he still delivered babies! Dr. Gurwitt is a kind and caring doctor who really listens to what you are saying. He has treated me for about 12 years and I really appreciate the knowledge he has from practicing for many years. Thank you Dr. Gurwitt.
