Dr. Leonardo R Rodriguez-Cruz

My appt was canceled 5 minutes before my visit because I was told my situation was accident related and he doesn’t carry the certification to handle this! All I wanted was help, hadn’t spoke with an attorney or had a lawsuit, but I was hit head on by a driver who fell asleep and apparently his office doesn’t want to deal with anyone who’s injured in an accident, regardless of if there’s anything open.

I saw Dr. Rodriquez-CRUZ week for a consultation. He is a fantastic communicator, very smart, answered all of my questions, spent a good deal of time with me. He even successfully made a difficult referral which I needed. (I don’t know about his surgical skills.) I felt he was one of the sharpest doctors I have ever seen.

I awoke paralyzed. I was THRILLED to hear him say to my nurse "I'm a lost cause!" Fabulous bedside manner with my terrified family "Get your shxx together & you'll need to find a nursing home, IF she lives through the night! " So, NO! I'm a retired ER trauma nurse and was mortified! Seriously! But very glad he would get in my face and say every time, "Do you know me? Do you remember me?" Yes sir! I'll NEVER forget you!

I recently visited Dr. Cruz for a very painful back injury. I had my MRI and medical documents from the ER with me. He did a thorough review of everything along with a history and physical and informed me in his opinion it was not my spine that was causing the issues. He put me on a new course of discovery and helped me with terrible pain for which I am grateful. He is very compassionate and spent time with me and my wife. We both liked him and respect his judgement. I will be going to an orthopedic doctor and an internist in the following days. Dr. Cruz comes highly recommended from both of us. Thanks Dr. Cruz !

Spine surgery At CRMC

While serving in the U.S. Army, I broke my facet joints in a fall down the stairs at L4 and L5. Dr Cruz performed a bonefusion at L4 and L5 that failed. The fusion was removed 6 months later. 7 months following, amother bone fusion was done. During this surgery, I was told by Dr Cruz that I was not properly padded and suffered a common left paroneal nerve palsy. The good Dr. Said the nerve was dead and that will eventually ended my career in the Army. I am grateful that I can walk, but this changed the course of my life. He did not receive any disciplinary action while on active duty and was protected with honors. There is no mention in his bio of any military service. When a doctor serves in the US armed forces, it's because their college tuition is paid for. I wasforcedyo retire from the Army and my health has deteriorated since.

I owe this man my life. I had a upper spinal fusion of T-6 ,T-7 ,T-8 back in early 2000 due to a bad 4-wheeler accident that broke my back. Due to Dr. Cruz with the assistance of Dr. Justice taking the time to do things right during the 14 hr surgery, I was able to return to work in Emergency Services and continue to be a Police Officer to this day. Again!! Thank you so much Dr. Cruze & Dr. Justice. I highly recommend the both of you because most people would be on disability over the type surgery I had, but due to the professionalism and care of the both of you. I’m still doing well as still being a productive citizen because of it. 10 STARS!!!

He has done all my neck and one back surgery and had no complications. Great doctor to talk to and get straight forward answers.

Good surgeon...horrible experience. Disorganized, negligent, more focused on billing and money than patient care, no answer on phone, slow or no callback when leaving a message or requesting test results. And the list goes on, but bottom line.....I would NOT reccomend this practice!!!!!!

Dr. Cruz explained the procedure needed, explained the results expected and answered all questions my wife and I asked. Dr. Cruz or his partner visited every day while in the hospital and evaluated progress. I am three weeks out from spinal surgery and extremely satisfied with the result.

He is the best surgeon for his expertise. He fixed my neck and it was a definite change for the good. He is matter of fact, to the the point. He knows what is best for you as the patient.

Dr was very rude and condescending. I would never recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Cruz basically put my mom through unnecessary pain and suffering, I guess either to practice the science of it, or to just bill insurance. She had a brain tumor that should have just took its course, but instead, Dr. Cruz inhumanly did brain surgery and she underwent chemo and radiation. This was all INHUMANE! Also, the way he and his colleague, Dr. Jestus treated my father was very wrong and unprofessional. I do not and would not ever recommend anyone to see either of them!

I found Dr. Rodriguez-Cruz to be an excellent physician - very thorough in determining the probable cause of my physical problem and an effective communicator. I highly recommend him for neurological issues.
