Rescheduled my appointment SEVERAL times. Clearly does not respect his patient’s time and does not honor appointments that have been scheduled months in advance!! Unacceptable. Would not recommend Dr. Hering or the McHenry facility as a whole.

Dr Hering preformed an emergency surgery after I had 17 months of unresolved health problems which I had seen Dr Hering for and he recommended Prozac for what turned into a life threatening condition .His treatment left me with questions about his diagnosis which I later researched my medical records and things didn’t add up.This was brought to his attention and he didn’t take any responsibility for addressing any of my concerns and left me with a mystery about what is going on with my health.As others have said he is most concerned about lawsuits because in my research Of Dr Hering i found out he was a part of a multi million dollar lawsuit.I brought my concerns to the Illinois Department of Professional Regulations and they didn’t do anything so Dr Hering left me with problems from the surgeries and I don’t have the information I need about my health.It s sad nothing was done to address my concerns which would have prevented the many i have seen come after me.Things need to change . Dr Hering didn’t provide me information he was supposed to about my health.Dr Hering treatment left me with adverse health challenges that I suffer daily from and he didn’t care

The only reason I give two stars is the fact that he gives you all the information, if only to prevent a liability lawsuit. Which he brings up. A lot. He will explain everything to you so you understand what's going on. But that's it. He won't answer emotionally charged questions. He's not empathetic or sympathetic. He likes to brag about how lucky HE is having his job and having kids himself when you explain that you are going through a difficult situation or when your own pregnancy is a failure. It felt like I was being rushed because he takes on too many patients so he can get paid more. He wouldn't even take 5 seconds to look at a vitamin bottle for me. I felt like I was treated as lesser by him because I had health issues and am not well off. It seems he values efficiency over empathy. I feel like he made some decisions about my surgery so it would go faster over trying to keep things where they should have stayed. And when I came in post surgery and was obviously in mental anguish, he threw antidepressants at me and told me to get therapy. Suffice to say I never went back. Do yourself a favor. Look at reviews from multiple places. He *can* be a nice person, but he needs to slow down and treat people less like cattle and more like people. WORST CARE OF MY LIFE. if youre going through anything life changing I dont suggest you go here. Nurses are so rude cant read paperwork. Told me I was and wasn't pregnant multiple times. It has been the worst week of my life. Dr. Hering has great bedside manners but doesn't tolerate questions and will get annoyed easily.

When I received my first (and only) checkup from Dr. Hering, I felt that he was unprofessionally condescending towards me after I informed him that I was partaking in safe sexual activity as a sixteen-year-old and that I wanted to start taking birth control pills. He continued to ask me questions as if he intended to make me feel guilty for performing sexual acts. I will not be seeing him again. When I visit an OB/GYN, I am visiting to ensure that I am safely partaking in these activities with my partner, not to be scolded for doing so.

I began to see Dr. Hering towards the end of my pregnancy when my doctor left maternity leave. Dr. Hering was kind, personable and had a great sense of humor. He seemed to really care and was always kind and understanding.

Dr. Hering actually interrupted me while I was explaining my severe pelvic pain to tell me “I understand, men have Abdominal pain too.” Dude, do you have a vagina and a uterus and do you menstruate every month? No. It seemed torturous for him to try to be empathetic. He did not listen well and he seems really condescending. I’m not sure why a guy like this would be a gynecologist. His nurses were great. Too bad they work for this guy. I went back twice to give him a chance, but had a severe condition that I could not end up trusting someone like him with.

Doctor Hering is by far my favorite doctor. He really listens to everything you say. He gets to know his patients and their entire health history. If you don't know what to ask he will explain more about what is happening. He has taken the time to call me when I was concerned about results. He has rightfully sent me to other specialist to get a complete picture of what is happening. I feel like Dr. Hering has saved my life more than once because he sent me to a different health specialist

Dr.Hering LISTENS to his patients.He has a Superb 'bedside' manner. He has tremendous knowledge that he communicates in a way that the laymen can understand. He has a sense of humor that puts the patient at ease. His staff is also very polite. He has late hours also. I can't say enough good things about him. SUPERB..THANK YOU, Doc!!
