Have been a Patient of Dr. Youssef for many years. Have nothing but good things to say about this Doctor. Takes her time, explains and communicates well. Would never consider going anywhere else. She always calls about test results - whether good or bad - and that is very important for me. Also does not seem to be rushed.

Not a good doctor at all, not personable, very nice, nasty, she's being paid for just looking at you, ordering the Aids to do the hands on stuff she as a doctor should be doing, and her specialty, her obsession with wanting to prescribe as much medicine as she can, and always referring elsewhere, and ordering unnecessary test.

she is a good doctor however administration sucks. every-time i go there i have to wait more than thirty minutes in room just to see doctor which lasts less than 2 minutes.

Puts on a great face, but I haven't met a doctor less eager to listen to what the patient says and more eager to get out of the examining room. I question her knowledge base, as she very clearly and obviously had no idea that there is such a thing as palliative pain management care separate than hospice, even snapping back that there is no such thing. I’ve been a patient for years with a different doctor at Beauregard, but he retired. I’m now stuck with Dr. Youssef who doesn’t seem to care or take the time to learn about her patients. I will change to a different practice and find a new doctor. Do yourself a favor and avoid this person.

Dr Yousef is an incredible doctor and my husband and I have been under her care for 15 years. She really listens and cares! I constantly refer people to her.

Never met a physician less eager to actually listen to the patient and more eager to get out of the room, literally meaning that one has to repeatedly ask her not to leave and please listen to what the patient says or asks. Questionable knowledge base as well, as she adimantly denied that there is such a thing as outpatient palliative care separate than hospice care. Frankly very enbarrassing!

The 4 rating here is a joke. I've never encountered a physician who is less eager to listen to what the patient actually says and more eager to rush out of the room. Recently, she adimantly argued that there is no such thing as outpatient palliative pain management separate than hospice care. Absolutely ridiculous. Had to go to a secondary doctor who kindly and affirmatively made the appropriate referral for my ailing mother.

She is very caring and takes the time to create rapport and then examine you. Most of the doctors I’ve seen rush in and out the room, not her. I am very pleased with her services and highly recommend her.

I've been her patient for 10 years. Great doctor! She is very knowledgeable and knows her business. Very personable and empathetic. Attuned to insurance company rules and pitfalls.

Dr. Youssef has been my primary physician for at least 8 years. I've had nothing but absolutely pleasant experiences with her. She is very personable, takes time to discuss medical conditions without being preachy, and personally follows up with a phone call regarding the results of tests or lab work. My wife also used her (unbeknownst to me) for a Green Card examination, and aside from some confusion over the version of a recently updated INS form, had no issues whatsoever. Following my physical, I called not even two days later because i was not aware I needed a referral with my insurance. At my physical I told her I had IBS. I wanted a referral for the Gastro - she wanted me to make an apt to come into her office first! I went to her for severe headaches. Did not recommend I see a neurologist, .talked to me for less than five minutes and sent me home. I was in the hospital for several days following that.

Please note, this is a review of Dr. Leila Youssef, a civil surgeon working out of the 9th floor. There are other medical professionals in this building who may be worth your time but my experience with Dr. Youssef was so bad, it needs to be shared. I recently filed for a green card, and as I'm sure many of you know, the process requires a medical exam from a government approved doctor. Dr Youssef appealed to me because she was close, and I generally prefer to visit female doctors ( they often have a softer approach, in my experience). Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. As an uninsured individual the battery of tests they performed cost $305 , a total of 4 shots, a blood test, and a blood pressure reading, along with a 5 minute consultation with Dr Youssef. The nursing staff was helpful and warm, but Dr Youssef was exactly the opposite. Her demeanor is cold and direct, with zero attempt to get to know you, or strike up casual conversation. She noted that my blood pressure results were quite high, to which I explained that I have anxiety in doctor's offices ( as well as a generalized anxiety disorder). She indicated that she would have to make note of that, as it was a "mental disorder" (or something similarly disparaging sounding). I was shocked to say the least, I have had anxiety for years and have always found doctors who are able to downlplay it, or at least approach it from a perspective that it's not a debilitating problem. With Dr Youssef it seems, everything is super serious, and you should feel bad about your problems. Not a good start. She indicated that I should come back on Monday to retrieve my test results. That Monday I received a call from her office, and the caller (a nurse, I assume) told me that they would be unable to release my test results right away because of the high blood pressure reading. At this point, I became a little frustrated. I know for a fact that none of the I-693 criteria require a particular blood pressure reading to proceed. When I got to her office, Dr Youssef called me in and once again repeated her earlier admonishments. "Your blood pressure is dangerously high, you need medication". I am a 30 year old male, I am in the best shape I've ever been, and the idea that a doctor would try to proscribe me with medication for blood pressure within 5 minutes of meeting them and with no attempt to suggest any alternatives struck me as crazy. It occurred to me that she was being so insistent about it , because she wanted to scare me into scheduling future checkups, and purchasing medications for which she likely received financial compensation. She came across desperate, and money hungry, and she made no effort to listen to my explanations about the anxiety disorder, or various other factors that might affect blood pressure. This is the worst kind of patient care, and I would highly advise anyone considering a visit to Dr.Youssef to stay far, far away. I went to Dr. Youssef for my immigration medical exam. It was not something I did out of choice, but rather a necessary step toward getting a green card. Her staff was friendly and helpful, particularly the receptionists. Dr. Youssef herself spent all of three minutes with me. She was not especially friendly or understanding. I did attempt to explain that I had anxiety about needles, but she still seemed surprised / concerned that I had an elevated heart rate. Probably wouldn't go again.

Dr. Youssef exhibits the, sadly, rare quality of patiently listening to her patients. She engages with her full attention and has years of good experience to apply to most general health issues. She is very proactive in educating patients about critical risk factors such as hypertension, high blood pressure, healthy blood sugar levels, etc. Dr. Youssef is a true care-giver who brings back a compassionate approach that restores old-fashioned patient/doctor trust.
