I found her to be anything but kind and gentle. She was abrupt and curt and cold. She totally dismissed my concerns and showed no interest in me as a patient. I went from her office, where I felt like I had been sent to the principals office, to the exam room. There I felt like she was trying to rush me out as quick as possible and didn’t have any interest in any of my questions as I had apparently lost the opportunity to ask them when I left her office. I found her easy to talk to and very thorough.

Shens been my doctor for 24 years and I wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else. She is kind, thoughtful, gentle, honest, tells you exactly what you need to hear AND has time for questions and concerns. She’s fantastic.

Referred to this doctor after my regular doctor didn't offer any real insight. I do suffer from white coat syndrome. Dr. Roberts was great, I cannot recommend her enough. I was hesitant after seeing so many negative reviews. I found her manner pleasant, and the visit was concise. I'll be returning regularly. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. I went in for specific things that I wanted to discuss but left feeling unwanted, rushed and violated. I phoned the office immediately after to discuss my dissatisfaction. I’m certainly not surprised that Lee Ann Roberts did not phone me back as it was apparent that she does not care about her patients or their health concerns. I got referred to this office from my family doctor. Specifically asked how much will be the charge. The front desk lady told me it will be "preventative care". whatever it said on my card . Came in for the appointment. The office feels like 1960's. Then when I was leaving she said this is gonna be a "bill later" so I didn't even know how much I was looking at. 2 months later, I received a bill of $411 dollars. I called them and she told me "yeah, it is a lot, you can make payments". The point is I asked how much and she told me wrongful information. I could have wait a couple weeks and come in if she told me the price. I would have had new insurance and my new insurance would cover for it. I use to go to Dr. Roberts, but after my dealings with Penny, I would never step foot in their again. I was trying to get an appointment because I thought I may have a UTI and needed to see if my new insurance would be covered. Penny claimed she is going on vacation and does not have to time to check with billing to see if our new insurance is accepted, I was done with her additude. I wanted to get in because I had a UTI. I asked her to have the Dr. call me, I doubt that she told the Dr. After reading the other reviews, I am begining to believe what they are all complaining about, she does rush thru exams and I did feel like she was too busy for me, I never said anything until I read many of the awful reviews posted. The first impression of a persons business is by who answers the phone, Penny, clearly lost my business. I have found a wonderful obgyn at Boylan Health Care and received the medication needed for my UTI. I get why she gets awards for her speed - because she spends less than 10 minutes with her patients!! If you want to come in for a routine physical/pap and want to go in and out, sure, come to her. But if you have any other issues or pain? I would NEVER recommend coming here. She has zero empathy, zero patience, and zero interest in hearing her patients out. I'm a new patient and she didn't even ask about my medical history at all!! The pelvic and breast exams were done so fast and nonchalantly, I'm not even sure she was looking for anything. I wasn't even warned before she shoved the speculum in my vagina! I never thought bedside manner mattered much, so I gave her a shot, but I was so wrong. I've never walked out of a doctor's office crying because of terrible service before today.

She is extremely impersonable and does not make you feel comfortable. She provides zero reassurance for any problems you have and does not make any effort to show that she cares about what you are going through. While she may or may not be a decent doctor, I would not recommend going to her because she simply doesn’t seem to care.

Gave this office two chances. The most rushed, non thorough, impersonal exam ever. Did not feel listened to. I have been going here for little over a year now since my other doctor didn't take my new insurance. I am now switching doctors because last month I found a lump in my breast. She shooked it off and said that she will recheck it in a couple of months. I asked for a mammogram (since I was close to the age of getting one) and she said no. She said that she treated me like any other 38 yrs old. I demanded a mammogram and she said that she will refer me but she said that I had to pay out of pocket, because she didn't think it was anything. As soon as I left there I went to my regular doctor and right away she referred me. Good thing too, because I needed a biopsy. Good thing it came back benign, but she didn't care if I had cancer or not. I would be very cautious of making her your doctor. If I could I would give her no stars!!! I switched to Dr. Roberts over a year ago because I wanted to try to find a female doctor that was compassionate and easy to talk to. Dr. Roberts was NOT that person. My routine exam was rushed and slightly uncomfortable. I was due to have my Mirena IUD replaced and agreed to let them order it. A few weeks later, I went back to have my IUD replaced. I was horrified as she ripped the old IUD out of me and quickly inserted the new one (as if she was ripping off a bandaid.) This is my 3rd IUD and I have never experienced that much pain when having it replaced. I was in shock and almost fainted from the pain. Lest you think I'm a wimp about pain, I had both my children naturally without an epidural. Now that I'm over the shock of the experience I'm looking for a new gynecologist. Very comfortable and nice. Dr. Roberts really works with you to find the right solutions for you.

The staff is very nice. All of my concerns were carefully heard by Dr Roberts. She gave me through information about my diagnosis mitigating my fear and feeling about that.

I love the one on one experience. The fact that the doctor calls you with results is unheard of anymore. I just had an abdominal hysterectomy and very thankful she was my doctor. Highly highly recommended!

I am surprised by the negative reviews. I've been going to her ~ 10 years. Dr. Roberts is professional, efficient and friendly in a reserved way. She takes as much time as I need and answers questions thoroughly. She personally calls with your mammogram results which I think is very thoughtful. She is gentle with the pap smear and breast exams. Her nurse is a sweet gal that I really like. The visits are quick and efficient, not a lot of waiting and never late. I believe she is also a surgeon which makes me very comfortable in case something serious comes up. This is exactly the kind of environment I wanted post child bearing years. I just attempted to find out if this office was taking new patient's and got an extremely rude woman (receptionist?) on the phone. YOU are the first association that a potential client has when contacting your business AND client's are YOUR employers. I would have given Dr. Roberts 1 star if not for her amazing front staff. They really set me up for a great experience that Dr. Roberts failed to deliver. I too felt rushed, and my concerns dismissed. The breast exam was the strangest of all breast exams ever, slapping my breasts every which way. In our initial discussion she only allowed me to explain so much until she made up her mind of what the best direction of my care should be, and after that, she didn't entertain any further discussion. When I had questions about the prescription handed to me, without discussion of my medicinal options, she clearly had no time to answer my questions about the prescription. I had to take it to the pharmacist to get my answers. Sorry I wasted an annual exam. I wouldn't recommend Dr. Roberts if you want to find some true individualized care. The office is quiet and quick. Star is friendly and helpful. I love that Dr. Roberts is a gyn only. She is extremely efficient and professional.

I have been seeing Dr. Roberts for a number of years She has always had time for me and has answered questions, etc. I love her and her nurse. I have never had a negative experience with her.

Dr. Roberts has been my doctor for over 20 years and has been stellar. I have always been treated well at appointments, and my surgery was flawless, with recovery being quick and fairly painless. I highly recommend Dr. Roberts.

I have had nothing but excellent care with Dr Roberts. And even though my GP says I could just go to her for my yearly I PREFER Dr Roberts because I can get in quick to see her if I have any female issues. She's a great doc for any stage and age in a womans life.

I was referred to Dr. Roberts by another office. Upon arrival the staff was very nice and attentive. When I went in and saw Dr. Roberts I did not feel welcome as a new patient. When discussing a certain issue I was having I was told at my age (41) that my only option was plastic surgery. Really all I was asking about was my weight and where I carry the weight. During the exam I think the only word to use is violated. When you are planning on doing an exam I think that a little bit of warning should be given when inserting something in an area that you were not expecting and I am not talking about the vagina... During the breast exam I am very surprised that I did not walk away with bruises. I feel like poking at my breast and stomach is not a very efficient way to check for any abnormalities. Lastly, I have to say that was the fastest yearly check up I have had ever.... I was in and out of that office in about 20 minutes. I felt like I was being rushed the whole time.. I felt like the doctor did not care and was just trying to get to her next patient, and that my concerns about my health were not important.My insurance is paying for a service that I am not satisfied with, and now I will have to come out of pocket to have another doctor do the same exam because I just do not feel like I was really taken care of.. I have to say, I like Dr. Roberts. I don't like going to the gyn, but I find it bearable with her. Yes, she is not extremely chatty. I don't mind that. I find that she is kind, knowledgeable, and I've never had an ungentle examination, so I'm not sure what the other reviewers are talking about (I've gone to her for several years). I have been going to Dr. Roberts for well over 20 years. I do not like having a pap smear, but I must say that Dr. Roberts is gentle compared to ones I have had in the past and the one I recently had. (The recent one was out of convenience). I like the procedure she uses during your visit. There is no wait time. She allows you to get dressed and then talks to you in her office as a professional. I have found her to be professional and detailed and do not want to go to anyone else. The breast exam may not be gentle, but if there is a lump I feel that she will find it. Wow, I can't believe that I had the same experience with Dr. Roberts that other reviewers had. I moved to NC two years ago. I had heard about Dr. Constance Battle, but she wasn't accepting new patients. Her office recommended Dr. Roberts, and I went in June 2013, but I'm not going back to her. I went for a pap, and when she called me, she gave me bad news about a condition, and then rushed off the phone. I too had lots of questions but felt that she couldn't be bothered to give me more information about my condition, and I was a bit distraught. I ended up going online to find more info. I have been going to Dr. Roberts for at least 8 years now, if not more. She is the best gyn I've ever had. She is knowledgeable, courteous and allows ample time between between patients to allow for plenty of questions. I've never had to wait as she schedules her appointments to allow that buffer. I really hate to do this, but hands down this was the worst gynocological experience of my life -- incuding the Student Health center GYN that I went to in college. I went in with high expectations becase my mother absolutley LOVES her...but i left in tears of frustration. I had a very similar experience to Kaitlynn regarding "When I tried asking her questions she was rude and short, which made it seem like I was irritating her". Yes, I understand that she is very "to the point" and "no nonsene", which I will give her, but there is a hard line between "professional" and straight up FLIPPANT. Needless to say, she was on the FLIPPANT side that day. When i was trying to explain what had happened to me, she kept tapping her foot and constantly saying "mmhm, mmhmm, mmhum, yep, mmhmm, mmhm". Did anyone else have an experience like that? It was incredibly awkward ---almost tourettes-like. I literally had to talk myself out of a panic attack it was so frustrating. Her 543554 "Mhmms" were not only cutting off my entire explanation of my condition, but really making my blood boil as I was feeling totally dismissed. If i was not in the office for pain that I needed checked out ASAP, I would NOT have stayed for the PAP. This week I am going to try out Kamm and McKenzie--as I heard they are great. If anyone else has recomendation of a good GYN/OB/Infertility specialist, or has had a similar experience, please let me know.
