In terms of the office staff, they were a bit formulaic. Like they were reading from a script? That's probably preferable, but I like a little pizazz and/or sassiness. Dr. Larry was slow like a sloth but also quick like a moth. He was a bull in a china shop but sharp like old hop. Give him a try. Then you'll know why.

Some of the puzzle games were tough, but Dr. McCloskey provided me with encouragement and praise to keep me focused (and this is not an easy task because of my ADHD, fibromyalgia, and chemo brain). His report was concise and had a lot of big brain words which I think is a good sign.

Dr. McCloskey was one of the best providers I've ever had. He was very receptive to my questions and really connected with me. I found him to be extremely professional and competent. He knows his tests.

I agreed with the one eval. He doesn't know how to deal with an upset patient. Instead dealing with the fact that I was very distressed he straightened up the evaluation room. Then in his report on me he stated that I was good at my household chores. I wonder if he tells his spouse the same thing. Do not go to him if possible!

Dr. McCloskey should not be practicing. Instead of listening to a concerned parent, he based his evaluation on one meeting. An evaluation by a psychologist is greatly valued by a school district and has an impact not only on class placement but on the opinions of the faculty. Dr. McCloskey put my child in a category of special education however, future testing and academic successes placed my child in the gifted category. Think twice before a visit to Dr. McClosky.
