Lawrence Stewart Barbera

Dr. B is a local legend, a fabulous doctor and an exceptional human being. I worked for him for many years. We sometimes tried to keep it a secret if he was in that day, because once anyone parent heard him whistling in the hall, the entire waiting room was in an uproar and wanted to switch their appointment to see him. He privately owns Valley Pediatrics. He built it out of his own home back in the days when doctors made house calls.

Dr Barbera was probably the worst pediatrician at this practice. After several heated run-ins with him I asked for any dr EXCEPT him when I checked in at the desk. Anyhow, long story is he preferred to give unwelcome parenting advice instead of medical advice and we clashed repeatedly until I decided I did not want to see him ever again. When I didn't agree with him he belittled me as an inexperienced and youthful parent (at 40). I was glad to see he retired so I can quit screening this Dr out.

Dr. Barbara has been my daughter's pediatrician since birth. I would highly recommend him and his practice, Valley Pediatrics to everyone. We've seen other doctors in the practice and have our favorites. Dr. Barbara has a quality about him that you don't find too often.
