Dr. Laurel Rene Anderson Cowell

I've been seeing Dr Anderson-Cowell for several years. She diagnoses a persistent cough that I had been seeing other doctors for 2 yrs with no diagnosis or treatment. I'd been treated for heartburn, cold, neurological disorder, had cat scans, biopsies, multiple endoscopy before seeing Dr Anderson-Cowell. She diagnoses me correctly, got me the treatment I needed including therapy from a specialist. Every follow up visit or testing has I have felt heard and understood.

Allergy medicine is near impossible... that being said she claimed I was allergic to nuts. So I stopped eating them and STILL had hives. Didn't listen to me about what I thought it wa , instead just performed a nut allergy test which was VERY inconclusive. Passed me off like just another number. Dr couldn't care less, the discussion was just so wildly insincere. She was clearly handling multiple patients all at the same time to the point which I'm not sure she really remembered me or what I had told her. The wait can be very long, but to me it is well worth it! I think Dr. Anderson is great. I trust her to treat my daughter and would recommend her highly. But if you are always in a hurry it might be better to find another place that prioritizes punctuality?

My daughter an Asthmatic allergen went to see this doctor 07-13-2021. Her appointment was at 2:45pm, she waited 2 hours before being taken into exam room. Once in exam room she waited another 2 hours for this doctor not to treat her for mold exposure. My daughter is allergic to mold, to which, she has unknowingly until this past Sunday has been inhaling mold spores in her apartment. I wished this doc would have listen to her symptoms and treated her instead of talking about her son and vaccinations! We are in a pandemic! STOP the preaching and start treating. There are other illnesses happening that ARE NOT COVID-19 related! Stay focused!

Currently seeing Dr. Anderson-Cowell. She is fantastic.

I feel like the other reviewers had to have seen a different doctor. Dr. Anderson-Cowell has been a wonderful physician. While the office visit runs longer than a primary care visit - I’ve always felt the time was used efficiently. I’ve always been roomed quickly and a friendly nurse is in just a few minutes later. I’ve never waited in a room more than 15 minutes - which by the way we were waiting for testing - I’ve also felt that Dr. Anderson-Cowell has always taken the time to listen and treat me appropriately. Her staff is friendly and kind. Even verified how my name is pronounced - which is so culturally refreshing! I’m very glad to have her apart of my healthcare team.

I waited 45 minutes for an appt for my toddler. There wasn’t a single toy or book in the office. He couldn’t touch anything, but wanted to see what was inside cupboards, behind doors, etc. He was bored out of his mind, tired of being told no for 45” and had started to melt down when she finally came in to examine him. In less than one minute she told me that his behavior was “abnormal” and that I “should look into getting him evaluated”. He was two. Her remark was intended to shame and did not come close to an accurate assessment of developmentally appropriate behavior for a toddler in that situation. I am a mom and a nurse who has worked in both pediatrics and mental heath my entire career. My assessment is that her ego gets in the way of her being able to effectively connect with, care for, and extend compassion to her patients. Not surprisingly, I never went back.

Waited 1.5 hours for my apt, overheard other patients medical records and received a diagnosis I did not agreed with so I asked more questions. She dismissed them and even interrupted me. The entire interaction took like 5 minutes. I would not recommend this doctor!

Sketchy Dr. Runs the same test multiple times. Does not talk or explain things to patient. Gets irate if you have any questions. Makes medical recommendations without any background information or informed testing.
