Dr. Larry Ira Cowan

I REALLY don't like that he's only in the office 2 days a week ???? However, I LOVE Dr. Cowan!! I've been going to him for 5 or 6 years now. But, he recently & literally saved my life!! I had an appt to have a suspicious lesion removed from my calf. After he was finished I told him about an episode I'd had that morning not being able to catch my breath. I have COPD (don't smoke) and thought that's what it was from, even tho it was the worst episode I'd ever had. He asked if my chest hurt afterward and I told him that it had kinda burned for a few minutes which I'd chalked up to not being able to breathe. He quickly had the girls do an EKG and then came in to tell me I was having a heart attack & he was calling the squad. The next day I had a heart cath and at 7 the following morning I had double bypass open heart surgery. Successfully, I might add! Had Dr. Cowan not caught what was happening to me I very well may not be here to tell about it!!

Absolute worst doctor. He gives you false information then decides to stop prescribing you a much needed prescription without notice. He has been my doctor for 4 years and prescribed the same prescription for 4 years and then suddenly stops. He is 2-faced, shady, and careless.

Dr. Cowan is awesome. I can’t imagine finding a Dr. to replace him. He’s very compassionate and will listen to what you have to say but he will tell you straight. I don’t mind waiting because I know he will give me the time if I need It. I love the new wait in your car system (thanks to Corona) Much easier to relax in the car instead of head bobbing in the waiting room.

I have had 3 appointments with Dr. Cowan and have only seen him once. The 1st appointment, he was late and I figured it was an emergency. The 2nd appointment I waited an hour and then left. Today, at my 2:30 appointment I was told that he was still with his 1:30 patient and that there were 3 patients ahead of me. The staff was very open about the fact that, unless I had an 8 am or a 1 pm appointment, I could not expect to see Dr. Cowan during my 1 hour lunch break. Apparently this is normal for Dr. Cowan and, when I asked why they continue to schedule so close when they know he will be running an hour or more behind, they said this is the way he likes it. Well, I am sorry to say that I do not like it. My time is also valuable and to expect me to take an afternoon off work to see a doctor whose office is 5 mins from my home is rude and inconsiderate. I will not be returning and will not refer anyone to Dr. Cowan.

Dr. Cowan is a very good dr ! His front desk staff on the other hand seem less than professional unfortunately. Still worth it.

Dr Cowan is the best doctor I have ever had. Treats me like a friend instead of just another patient. I can't Express how great of a doctor he is in every respect

Dr. Cowan has been my entire family's Doctor for nearly 20 years. He is the best Doctor on the planet! You may have to wait a bit longer past your appointment time because the person before you is getting every second of the time they need him. Would give a 0 if i could. The office is hoarribly run. Never even saw the doc due to their incompetence

Dr. Cowan is the best Dr. I've ever had. He is so sympathtic and listens. So many Doctors don't listen. Dr. Cowan knows when you need to talk and when it's a quick visit. He has so much compassion. Sometimes the wait seems long but Doctor Cowan knows when extra time with me is needed. I certainly can't get mad when other patients need extra time. Scheduling appoints is very easy.

I love Dr. Cowan. He listens very well and is very understanding. HIs office staff is pretty rude and snippy but I like him enough to deal with them.

He had been my doctor for years. Had to get diff insurance was very disappointed when I found out that he didn't take my insurance and could not be seen by him any more... He always new what was wrong with me growing up I've had some very strange things... Romatic fever, cat scratch fever... I felt very comfortable with him... I can tell you it has been a huge difficulty finding someone who does as well of ajob as Doctor Cowan...
