This dude is the worst dentist and he needs a mental evaluation. Zero stars for this psycho.

He took out more teeth than he needed to, broke one off and I had shards coming out of my mouth, stabbed me in the tongue with his needle and yelled at me when I tearfully told him after he sprayed the numbing agent from the needle into my mouth telling me that if I didn’t calm down he wouldn’t help me. After a new patient exam, xrays and a cleaning Butler said that I had so many “issues” that I should just “get veneers like celebrities do”! I left crying, embarrassed and angry! Butler was insulting and dismissive. He didn’t even care that he upset me to the point of tears. In fact, he told the receptionist to “give her her xrays so she can go elsewhere.” ???? Also, my experience was about 3 yrs ago and I thought I already posted my review but to my surprise it doesn’t appear. Hmmm. I love this office. Everyone (the receptionist, x-ray tech, hygienist, assistant, and dentist... seriously EVERYONE) are wonderful, thorough and kind. Also, there’s a dog :) I highly recommend this dental team!

Have had great experiences with this office. LOVE the dog in the office, helps put me at ease and makes me look forward to going in. Worked with my fiance who didn't have insurance because he desperately needed a tooth removed. I went for the 3 years I lived in the area and would recommend them.

Dr butlers entire staff is amazing. I’ve had a ton of work done previously and spent loads of money in other places. They are very conservative here and don’t try to force you to get things you don’t need. I just had all my fillings done at one time since I didn’t want to get numb more than one day and he worked with me, understanding that my jaw was tired and asking me throughout the procedure if I was okay, if anything was hurting and if I needed a break. I was very scared before he numbed me and they calmed me down. Front desk is amazing. Sweetest woman I’ve ever met. The assistant, can’t think of her name, but she explained everything I needed and showed it to me. I’ve never had such a good experience before. HIGHLY recommend this office, especially someone with fears. They are wonderful. Also, I’ve read reviews about this office, stating that the office dog shouldn’t be there but honestly, that’s what calmed me down before they took me back. I was scared to be there in the first place and this little corgi comes out and that just made me feel happy and not like I was in some awful place. Stay away from this office. The staff receptionist, think her name is Paula, is a rude and incompent. I paid for a tooth extraction in full before the insurance claim was filed. When the insurance paid for the extraction she added on an addition fee in violation of the Doctors contract with the insurance company. I have not as yet received my refund. Do yourself a favor and do not see this dentist. As a dentist I am sure he is decent, but his staff will make your life a living nightmare. They operate in the dark ages and insist on mailing hard copies for insurance approval. They left my daughter waiting almost 2 months for an extraction and refused to email her insurance company to get approval. I am now out of pocket the money I spent to have her seen and have to start all over again.

Awful dentist. He did work on me several years ago and caused me to have a lock jaw infection. He removed a molar that he didn’t need to remove (found out afterwards) only so he could remove an impacted wisdom tooth that again he apparently had no business removing. I went to Dr Taglione for the remainder of the wisdom teeth. He looked at my X-rays prior to any removal and said he shouldn’t have been removed that tooth along with the molar. The tooth was soooo impacted it really required a surgical extraction, not a tooth you just pull. He’s expensive, he is nuts and he sucks. The hygienist are good there but he is a whack job. I took my son, who has always had an issue with the feeling of a tooth brush on his teeth, to see Dr.Butler. Every dentist prior has made me feel like an aweful mom, because he don't brush great. Dr.Butler and all of the staff treated myself and my son with the utmost respect. These people treated me like I am the mom I strive to be. They didn't judge me or my son. As for the care, they got my son right in, handed me a slip for him missing school. They got right to work, even giving him a second appointment that day to have the tooth taken care of. They explained everything very well. Both options and costs. My son who is 13, and has had horrible experiences with prior dentists, loves Dr.butler, Milo, Paula, the assistants, and hygentist. I searched high and low looking for a good old fashioned dentist. I'm so happy to have found them. UPDATE: I woke up 1 morning in horrific pain. I debated for several hours about calling, as I am terrified of dentists. Just the thought of the sound of the drill makes me squirm. Finally at 2:45 pm, Friday I called. They first ask me to call back Monday, because they were short a staff member. I explained​ that I was in terrible pain. They put me on hold less than 1 minute, and asked if I can come right away. I jumped up and went. After taking and examining my x-rays, Dr.Butler gave me ALL my options, and realistic prices, and time frames, for the different treatments available. As well as benefits and risks with each option. He then offers me a soda, or water, a piece of candy or 2. He also offered all the same to my daughter, who accompanied me. He then allowed me to go have a cigarette, or 2 before getting started. (I'm a super heavy smoker, so I appreciated that a ton) At my choice he removed the infected teeth. He recommended I use a smoker patch to help curb the cigarette cravings so I didn't get dry sockets. He explained all the follow up care to my daughter and me. (I was out of it, as he offered a medicine to help calm my nerves) I don't care who says what, I feel like Dr.Butler is a top notch dentist. He only asked about the things that pertained to my teeth, or casual small talk to try to help me calm down. (My entire body was shaking, and I have a nervous laugh, and I talk loud when I'm nervous.) He and his staff were so accommodating, and caring. He not only gave me his home number, but also his cell, being a Friday evening, and knowing I'm a very heavy smoker, I couldn't promise I wouldn't smoke for the required 24 hours (but I didn't). I didn't leave till nearly 6, and they close at 5. (Mostly my fault, with the cigarettes I wanted to smoke first). During treatment he asked me several times if I was ok, and assured me he would stop if I needed. Telling me exactly what he was doing, and how much more we had to go. I personally LOVE that they don't store my info on computers. My daughter is in college now for cyber security, and you would be amazed at how easy it is for hackers to steal your information. Not to mention how easy and how often computers go down. Or "hold on, my computer's moving slow today" PC's constantly need to update, and that's just more chances to get info mixed or messed up. I personally love to see them write my name in a book. Makes me feel like a person, not a number. Milo the dog. Let me say nothing angers me more than seeing people bring their dogs in stores. I was absolutely surprised when I walked in and was greeted my this happy, clean adorable corgi. Usually, I might've thought twice about it, until I realized how much calmer both my son and I became when petting the dog. My daughter told me at her college they bring in dogs and cats during exam week, to help students relax. They're considered therapy dogs. Milo made me feel so much more at ease. If you don't want him by you, they'll put him in the back. I think he has the right idea, TV always has bad news on, this dog is so happy and friendly, and really helped me be less stressed. My two daughters and I have personally seen Dr. Butler for several years and have had nothing but EXCELLENT experience with him and his staff. He and Paula make sure everything is explained from what is wrong, what could go wrong, what your options are and how much you will be out of pocket prior to your next appointment depending on which route you choose to proceed with. I recently had 2 wisdom teeth extracted and he made sure I was completely comfortable the entire time. I was given instructions for after care as well as his personal number since it was over the weekend in case of any issues or questions I might have. Even if this office did not take my insurance (which this has been the case in the past) I would gladly pay out of pocket for the care and professionalism I have received at this office. It saddens me to see some of the negative reviews people have left. I do know that every visit is not perfect and there will always be some bad experiences, there is never a 100% success rate no matter where you go. I have had issues that needed to be resolved with insurance and other situations, but Paula will go above and beyond to help in any way she can as long as you treat her with the same respect that you want in return. I can guarantee that this office is highly professional and some of the best people I have ever dealt with when it comes to a medical office. I found Dr. Butler in my healthcare providers listed of in network dentists. From the start of our relationship 2 years ago, I have had nothing but excellent service from him, the medical staff and the front office. I've always been billed fairly (and costs stated up front). My toddler recently went for his first dental exam/cleaning, and it was such a positive experience. I must especially point out how incredibly friendly the scheduling staff and the doctors 4 legged assistant are! My son has dental anxiety and the home type setting helped put him at ease. Dr. Butler is friendly, and was very open about his treatment plan and any suggestions or questions I had. Myself, my wife and my kids go to him, and we have never had a problem. I am not quite sure of the negative reviews listed here, maybe they are for a different Dr. Butler or one from a parallel dimension or something (last I checked he didn't have a curly mustache or anything...) . The reason I left this review was because I looked up the phone number today and couldn't believe the rating I saw. It only takes 1 or 2 complainers to really wreck a review score. I have utilized many Dentists around the country. I have found Dr Butlers office to be professional,and competent The Dental hygienist Charlotte did a fine cleaning and was very professional, asking the questions needed and giving me answers to mine. Dr Butler is both competent and worked with a compassion that relieved any stress. most astounding was, After many visits to a new dentist, this is the first time I was not pushed to do work that was not needed just to pad the bottom line.

He pulled 27 teeth I needed a referral for surgery. Due to the shards left in Gums not a week later they said they only take children and would not give referral.so I have suffered for 2 yrs .If you care about your little ones stay away from him.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE Dr. Butler’s office incorrectly billed for my son’s tooth extraction. When my insurance company contacted Dr. Butler’s office to obtain a reversal authorization code and Paula at Dr. Butler’s office refused to provide this information even though she was aware the incorrect extraction code had been paid. When they asked to speak with a manager and Paula stated one was not available but either way did not have the authority to authorize a charge reversal. Paula was very rude and unwilling to help. When I called Paula told me I had no right to call, that she didn't have to talk to me. She was nasty to say the least. They are preventing my child from getting the insurance coverage he needs now because they have incorrectly billed for something that was was never done. Dr Butler is an amazing dentist. My son loves him.

Mom has been going to Dr. Butler for a year + now. He and his staff are extremely nice and helpful. She has been having problems with her insurance not wanting to pay (typical insurance trying to deny everything) and Paula went to bat for her. It took awhile, but Paula is like a bull dog when it comes to fighting for patients with the insurance companies. Mom said Dr. Butler is the best dentist she has found in Zephyrhills. He shows her and explains what exactly needs to be done. She had some cavities filled and a crown that needed to be fixed. She said it was amazing. She did not have any problems and was a pain free experience. I am going to make an appointment with him next week. Update coming soon! 5/1/2017-update I had been having some pain in my molar and went to have it checked out. Dr. Butler gave me a couple of options. I could have it pulled or get a root canal and crown. I chose the root canal and crown. Since he doesn't do the root canals he referred me to Dr. Eleanor Apodaca, who is freaking awesome. A week later Dr. Butler put the temporary crown on. It was the easiest dentist visit I have had. He was awesome. If I needed him to stop, all I had to do was raise my hand and he asked if I was doing okay frequently. When he did the impressions for the permanent crown, he didn't leave to tend to another patient (I have had other dentists do this causing an extremely long appointment). He did some charting and made sure I was okay. When I left, my gums were a bit sore, which is understandable, but I just took some ibuprofen and the next day they were fine. Two weeks later (today) he put the permanent crown on and I have had no problems and no soreness. He is the best dentist I have ever gone to. For the record, Paula is so nice. I have never seen her be anything but kind. The only thing I can think of as to why there are reviews saying otherwise would be that those people tried to skip out on their bill, wanted a free ride and got pissed when they didn't get their way. Oh my, where to begin? It started with making the first appointment!! I was yelled at by Paula the Drs wife!! Unbelievable! She told me that I live an hour away, and I BETTER NOT cancel. So I showed up for my appt. One staff member that I met was fine. When the doctor examined me, he was asking me my personal Business! Unprofessional!!! What a wacko. I am PREGNANT. For my next appt, I had to cancel and asked for a new appt because I was Bleeding and had to go to an emergency appt with my OBGYN. I believe I am finished with this dentist. After being a patient for a number of years I try to remain loyal, but it seems every time I go all I hear are the ladies behind the desk bad mouthing the people on the phone who call with questions. I thought the first time it was a one time thing but it happened again today. The lady answering the phone slammed down the receiver and huffed and puffed like doing her job was an annoyance. There is no window between us and them, your clients in the waiting room can hear it all, ladies. With so many unemployed people in Florida, you should thank your lucky stars that you have a job. Those clients that are asking you questions pay your wages. When that patient who had been treated rudely on the phone arrived for his appointment Dr. Butler came out and apologized but in the same breath threw the assistant under the bus by saying she had no business answering phones. Yes, she was rude on the phone and if she had been my employee I would have fired her, but she is YOUR employee, so how about training her. No wonder they all bad mouth the people on the phone, they learn from example, Dr. Butler. It gets worse. My daughter had a bad check up. Admittedly, we expected it, that's why we were there, to assess the damage and develop some kind of treatment plan to fix her problems. I have been seeing Dr. mann since early childhood , as many of you know he has passed away in recent years , and after a recommendation to Dr. butler from a family member , I have found my new dentist of choice. I received excellent service from both the Dr. and his staff. Procedure and after care where thoroughly explained before and after the procedure was done. I have had 2 great experiences with this practice and am confident that any other future visits will be meet with the same great service. It should be noted that I had no insurance at the time and I payed full price out of pocket. With a bit of research I may have found that I could have gotten the procedures done slightly cheaper elsewhere , But surely at the cost of comfort and customer service. "You get what you pay for" and Dr. butlers services was worth every penny and then some. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a pleasant dental experience. Dr. Butler has been a very good dentist with me and my two kids. They have also seen us in emergency situations. When I was a kid, I went to Dr. Lewis Mann, DDS. Unfortunately, Dr. Mann passed away a few years ago and retired a few before that. We tried lots of places over the years, but Dr. Butler has been the best. I especially like Charlotte, his hygienist and his wife, who works the front. Always helpful and never seemed after money. Always filed my insurance, as well. I found that this dentist and staff are not P.W.A's .educated. And the person collecting the payment can't even count out your correct change , or charge correctly. Didn't get a good feeling. Seemed to be more interested in finding things wrong to charge me for than my overall dental health. Just called to ask for my x-rays so I could go somewhere else and found out they want to charge me $50. My advice is to go somewhere else. 12/2010 update.
