Dr. Larhonda R Jones

I was a patient of Dr. Jones when I was an adolescent. She disappeared from the office one day and left no forwarding information. I was without medication for 3 months right after getting out of the hospital for suicidal ideation. If you want someone dependable, go somewhere else.

Excellent Dr very attentive, and patience. I’ve been a patient over 2 years. I don’t want to go to another Dr.

Ive been coming here for about 15 years and that Doctor Larhonda Jones, is Amazi gly passionate about her job, and clients. Would i recomend her you ask, YES!!!! In a heart beat. Shes so down to earth, humble and understanding. I wish i had enough money to send her flowers!!

I usually don't write reviews but I've had enough. As someone else stated, trying to find a pediactric Psychiatrist in the St. Louis area within 45 miles is hard enough, then trying to find one that accepts whatever insurance you have makes it 10 times harder. With that in mind, you have to imagine that any ped psych would be rolling in the cash so they would make sure that they had their practice running like a well oiled machine. Let me start off by saying, I called this office and finally, reached someone who had an opening within a couple of weeks. Thought that was great, booked an appointment. My wife brings our child and the staff told her that she didn't have an appointment that day or time. I looked at the calendar my wife and I share together. I've made mistakes in the past, maybe I made another one. I apologized to my wife up and down but she's rather upset because she drove quite a ways to bring our child there. Got a letter in the mail stating the day and time my wife showed up with our child was the correct day and time I slated on our Calendar. Chalked it up to everyone makes mistakes, I'm a very forgiving man so I let it go. Well, another appointment was made for the next week. This time my wife got a call the night before stating that they were moving her appointment up from 10:30am to 10:00am. It was an actual person speaking, not a recording. My wife automatically changes the time on our shared calendar. She shows up at 9:50am and sees the office is empty, so she waits for 10am. Still no one. Asks me to call while she's standing in the lobby area. Recording came on and said the hours of operation are from 10am to whenever the closing time is. I'm assuming 4 or 5 pm, I can't remember, either way I said, well, I guess just wait for 10:30 to roll around and if no one shows up, then someone must have made a mistake. 10:30am, no one shows so my wife leaves. Upset and stressed, she calls me complaining because I'm the one setting all this up. I explain that I'll talk to them. 11:10am, the doctors staff, I've heard was the doctors Mom, called me. Asking where my child is at since she had the first appointment at 11am. I told her the whole story of my wife and child sitting there from 10 to 10:30 and no one was there. She told me that I was wrong and no one was in the lobby at 10:30am because thats when the staff, herself, came in the building. She then proceeded to tell me that my wife was wrong. I took that as my wife is a liar. I said, they were there till 10:30, they even took a picture of the lobby and text it to me at 10:30 when they were leaving because they found the lobby to be really weird. Now I'm being told that I'm wrong, which I interperret as, I'm a liar now. That blew over, my child was on certain meds and I needed to get her in there because she was running low. So we make an appointment for 2:30pm the next week. They show up and the staff and doctor are in. Great news so far. They go see the doctor and explain everything that has been going on, the treatments she's been on along with the meds. The doctor pretty much said the same diagnosis and I believe she is right with the diagnosis. Again, so far so good. Then the doctor prescribes her a totally different medication and said stop all the others. Not ween yourself off the others so here's another prescription, just stop taking them now and only use this new one. I do not hold a PHD, never been to school for medicine so I admit that I'm not a professional and you don't have to take my opinion on this one but, I could swear that you don't take someone that's been on certain types of meds and just stop. Especially some decent doses of these types of meds. It's been a few days in our house and it's in shambles right now. Attitudes, crying, yelling, crashing, just absolutely insane. Certainly can't get a hold of the doctors office though. Tried calling for the past two days. I was going to suck up the craziness that's going on at home but since the doctor doesn't want her going back to school right now till this is fixed, which could take years from what I understand, again, I don't hold a PHD, she has to be homebound. So I've been trying to call and trying to call so the doctor can write a script to send to the appropriate personnel so she can continue to have schooling at home and I get nothing. You can't even leave a message because the voice mailbox is full. I'm telling you, I've seen mistakes and dealt with secondary mistakes but when this has something to do with your child and the strain it puts on your marriage, it's completely wrong! I've already set up our child with a new doctor but its a long wait. One of the other two offices who accept our insurance within a 50 mile radius. I'm hoping and praying that the new one will be much better. So far, the staff I've talked to on the phone about our situation seems to really care. Even if it's fake, I don't care, put on the face and get us in there. The staff doesn't have to deal with my child. They've even called me and said they had a cancellation and she could come in the next day but my wife and I were going in two different directions and we couldn't break the appointments. If we could have, she would be there! I'm telling you, I'll be reading reviews before going through this type of thing again and I'll be writing reviews from now on. Good and bad because this type of service is absolutely horrible! Good luck to you, whoever may be reading this. My bottom line suggestion, if I confused you in any way, find someone else.

It's difficult to find a child psychiatrist in St Louis, which is the only reason my daughter goes to see Dr Jones. She's stable on her medications, and only sees the doctor about 3 times per year. Hopefully she stays that way, because the office staff make this office very difficult to deal with. The doctor's mother, who is rude and uncommunicative, even after being responded to directly after she asks me a question about insurance, is a real detriment to the office staff... even if she's working at a reduced rate for her daughter the doctor.Getting prescriptions prepared for pick up is somewhat tedious, depending on who picks up the phone. They also have tended to lose track of appointments, forcing me into doing more leg work than should be required to ensure that a missed appointment charge doesn't end up on my account. They're also checks or cash only for coinsurance/copayments, which seems very odd in 2010.

The doctor rarely shows much real interest in our children's problems. She means well, but doesn't inspire confidence.The office staff is extremely rude, unprofessional, and inflexible. We have had to request forms for our children's school as much as five times before the office staff complies; same with prescription refills.
