They saved my husband's life after his colon ruptured and he went septic, and required emergency surgery. They work very good as a team. They are very friendly, polite, knowledge, and caring. We felt at ease knowing that my husband was in the best hands. People from all over Arkansas choose to go to see him. As a nurse, I can definitely say that he is the best of the best. They explained treatments and procedures in detail and we were always part of the plan. They listened to all of our concerns. I can't say enough about them. We love them. I have never heard of any negative comments about Dr. Burns or Barry. We are just so grateful for them.

Fantastic Doctor and Staff Self-verified patient of Lance Burns - Posted on November 18th, 2021 This is a long time coming, since 1st time I had to have surgery was in 2015 and then again in 2019, but A LOT has happened in between that has kept me busy mentally and physically from writing this, so please forgive me. Dr. Burns and his staff 1st saw me in 2015 when I had something happening that no one else seemed to be able to find. Thanks to seeing reviews on the computer, I made an appointment and It was one of the BEST decisions ever made! He did a couple of tests in the office and scheduled others in which I came back and he performed the test himself. He is a hands-on kind of Dr. with a wonderful personality. I just love him and his staff like family and once he knew what was wrong, he scheduled surgery and took care of my problem. Then in 2019 I once again had to have surgery when it appeared that I had 2 large hernias. One high in the abdomen and one lower., But, once he got into my abdomen he saw that the mesh I had placed in 1995 & 2004 had cut through my stomach muscle and was tangled in my bowels. He had to remove it and graph my muscle back together and then put in a new mesh between the muscle and stomach wall. He did a FANTASTIC JOB!!! and I just love him, Kim and Barry. They are so very good to me and with my fear of Dr.s from near-death past experiences with a couple of Doctor's I would never recommend a Doctor unless they were the Best!!! And it is my honest opinion that he is. and they are all wonderful and make me feel safe and cared about! The best care ever received was the 4th floor at St. Vincent's in Little Rock, Arkansas and as soon as my brother found out he had Colon cancer, we immediately called and made an appointment with Dr. Burns. He took care of my brother and I am proud to say, he is cancer-free at this time going on his 2nd year! Praise God for giving us such wonderful and gifted Doctors who are so down to earth they make you feel like family and that says A LOT about a person in my opinion. I pray that God will continue to bless my Doctors and Hospital staff! I hope you never go through what I have, but- If you do need a wonderful colon/rectal surgeon that you call them. I don't feel you will be able to deny the facts I have posted. God Bless All-Always! Take care and Stay Safe and Please- Be good to one another! With Kindest Regards, Jaynie M. Roy-Jones P.S And June of 2021, I ended up in trouble again with my belly and requested to be transferred directly to Dr. Burns at St. Vincent and My ER Dr. who is also a former co-worker/friend of mine came into the room and just couldn't believe how nice Dr. Burns was and how much he seemed to care about me and that he was glad to accept me as a transfer and he wanted me to know he would take really good care of me. I had no doubt! And Thank God and Dr. Burns, I was able to stay a week and leave without further surgery! But, If I had to have it- He's the one I wanted to do it!

About 6 years ago Dr. Burns performed surgery on me. The results were excellent. Now, July 2021, while I am in a hospital for bleeding who should show up in my hospital room at 6:30am, you guessed it; and the next day, also, because I need nearly immediate surgical care (for a different reason). He did not have to do that. Your are in good hands with this skilled surgeon/doctor. Good personality too. I am so thankful.

This doctor is a thorough, skilled, caring surgeon. He has performed surgery on me and the results were very good. HIs manner/demeanor are wonderful. I am so thankful I found this gem. Thank you, Dr. Burns. Here it is 6 years later with me in a hospital and he came to my room at 6:30am to consult with me (and he did it the following morning!) He genuinely cares about his patients. He also has a great demeanor.

My husband is battling stage IV colon cancer and is a patient of Dr. Burns. Over the past 60 days, Dr. Burns has removed a colon tumor from my husband's sigmoid colon, created a temporary ileostomy, and then reversed the ileostomy once the colon healed from the resection. He was an incredible surgeon. We were always excited to see him when he stopped by each day while we were in the hospital. When we were evaluating surgeons, the consensus was clear... Dr. Burns is the best! He's changed our life, so we're biased, but we definitely agree!

I did not actually see Dr Burns. I was referred to him by another Dr for a very serious complication I was experiencing that needed urgent attention, I was told that his office responded quickly to referrals, however, it took his office more than three weeks to respond, after which time I had already seen another Dr, had surgery for the complication spent a week in the hospital and well on the way to recovery. Not impressed.

I have never met a more kind and caring doctor before. He really loves his job and taking care of people. He has gone above and beyond what many doctors would have done to help me. If you need a fantastic golf-rectal surgeon go see Dr Burns. If you want just a so so doctor go see someone else!

We are very fortunate to have Dr. burns here in Arkansas. If you need colorectal surgery rest assured he is the best, I recently had transanal excision for what started out as stage 3c rectal cancer before chemoradiation and responded down to a locally excisable adenoma, i was back to riding my bicycle two days after surgery. He is very skilled in all the latest minimally invasive techniques which will save you a lot of pain and disfigurement.

Dr. Burns is an amazing doctor and saved my life. I ended up having 3 surgeries all done my Dr. Burns to remove all of my large intestines and rectum and make a jpouch. Dr Burns was great. He hasaid a great bed side manner and also tells you how it is. It has been a year and he still does all of my follow up scopes. Most doctors after a surgery they are done and leave you hanging. Dr burns assured me he will remain my dr. I am so thankfull I chose him. My kids will use him in the future as well.

I've had an excellent experience with Dr. Burns! I've had two surgeries- a hemorrhoidectomy and a pilonidal cyst excision. He makes the patient feel comfortable and at ease. He has a great personality, and genuinely cares about his patients. I would definitely recommend him, and I would go back to him in a heart beat.

Dr. Burns safe my life. I had the flesh eating disease and he was able to do surgery on me very quickly so as it did not spread. He also has the best bed side manner. When i was in the hospital he would spend extra time in the room with My Family and i answering questions. Dr. Burns is the best.

Dr. Burns is an excellent colon doctor/surgeon. I haven't had surgery but have seen him twice for consultation visits & one op procedure. I'm a candidate for colon surgery but his professional advice was not to go the surgery route just yet. In my opinion that tells a lot about a honest highly qualified specialist that is not all about seeing you and recommending surgery immediately but to try other options that may be beneficial. Thank you Dr. Burns!

I just had surgery on 4-13-2016. Dr.Burns did a great job I was a little scared but he told me that everything was going to be okay and he told the truth. I had an outpatient surgery and is at home recovering. I'm not in any pain except when I have a bowel movement but with my sitz bath, I'll be just fine. If I had to do it again I would definitely trust Dr.Burns. My two daughters met him for the first time doing my surgery and they thought he was a very nice looking man.
