I’ve never felt so rushed, confused, and misdiagnosed. I was scheduled an emergency colonoscopy, because I went to see a doctor due to SEVERE pain and irregular bowels. I was screaming in lain for 3 days in the bathroom with endless tears, that’s how bad it was. I had blood that looked like coffee grounds (had a picture and all) and for over a week my stool looked like nothing but pure vegetable oil. Met the doctor for maybe 2 full minutes before my colonoscopy, asked to see nothing or how I’ve felt. Asked no previous medical history (I’ve had bleeding ulcers rupture in my early 20’s and an endoscopy done) along with endless bouts of gastritis. He knew none of this. Does the colonoscopy, and has no answers? Finally just says it’s “probably” IBS. First off, even I know if blood looks like coffee grounds that’s upper GI tract, and never was my stomach even examined or talked about. I’m sorry, but if you want a thorough doctor that takes you seriously please look elsewhere.

I've been a patient of Dr. Venkat for over 18 years. He's performed 4 Colonoscopies and 3 Endoscopies on me over the years. I have full confidence in him. I've never had a complication. He explains everything very well and his office staff is awesome, especially his R.N., Sue.

My husband was seen by Dr. Venkat at the referral of a wonderful ER doctor. He was direct, yet compassionate. He arranged an appointment on Christmas day for someone at University of Chicago. Excellent referral. We would recommend Dr. Venkat to anyone needing his services. He truly has your best interest at heart.

Other than it takes months to get an appointment, love Dr. Venkat. Seems to be the norm these days with any specialist these days. My husband and I both seem him and like him. I'm a retired nurse, and not happy with the way health care is heading as far as wait times and compatance of many office practices.

Dr. Venkat performed a colonoscopy on me a year ago. I haven't been right since. Bleeding and pain during bowel movements. Went to see him and he told me that I had diaper rash. I lost all confidence in him. Internal Medicine Associates told me that I could not see any other doctors that work there. Just now following up with an out of the area doctor.

Dr. Venkat, the nurses, and office staff were so accommodating and friendly. They really helped ease my concerns and answered all of my questions with patience and understanding. My procedure was quick and painless. I would highly recommend them to friends and family.
