Dr. Kristen Elaine Biel

Dr. Biel and her staff are amazing! Last year I went to Biel Foot and Ankle for an ingrown nail and a heel spur. After listening patiently to me (I tend to ramble????) she very throughly and understandably explained treatment options for both the ingrown nail and bone spur. She let me decide which treatment I wanted and asked if I had any other questions. She also explained what the procedures were and details on recovery. She did the procedure for the ingrown nail that day. I was absolutely terrified! Way way back when I worked as a Certified Medical Assistant, I have seen this procedure done. It was kind of painful. I gritted my teeth, closed my eyes, and waited. Nothing! No pain! I never had any pain before, during and after the procedure. I was very surprised! And happy! It was a great outcome. Surgery was recommended for the heel spur. I then spoke with my primary doctor and she suggested that I get a second opinion. I agreed and did get the opinion from another podiatrist she referred me to. Long story but, I preferred to return to Dr. Biel to have her do the surgery. It went really smooth, and my recovery was uncomplicated. She was always available if I had any questions. I was discharged from her care. I returned to her 6 months later for evaluation of my previous surgery site. It had developed scar tissue buildup and was getting uncomfortable. I was also experiencing symptoms of diabetic neuropathy. She addressed both issues, explaining treatments. I left her office with all of my questions answered and I was satisfied. She is very knowledgeable with a great bedside manner. She is also very professional. I feel very comfortable under her care.

Very attentive to the pain I was experiencing. Asked lots of questions and probed for the heightened pain area. Gave a shot and pain subsided. Gave recommendations for foot care especially with long hours standing. Definitely recommend and so blessed to have found Dr. Biel.

Dr Biel is wonderful! I so much appreciate her caring attitude and time she took with me each visit. I always felt like she had all the time in the world and she never rushed me even though I had a million questions.

Terrible, painful experience left my foot worse than when I initially visited. I am a retired teacher. I developed a big bunion and my second toe was becoming a sore hammertoe. My PCP office recommended her, but likely because her office was in the same building. Kristen Biel poorly performed hammertoe surgery, but within a couple days I had a feeling like something was still inside the bottom of my foot. Biel suggested that it was scar tissue which was hard to believe after just a couple days. Each subsequent visit I had the same complaint, but after a two minute consultation she was done with me. On the last visit, I had no X-ray and she said her treatment was finished. I said the hammertoe is back and I still have a big bunion and a sore foot. In front of my husband who accompanied me she said, “I always recommend bunion surgery with a hammertoe surgery.” This was so untrue. Neither my husband nor I had ever heard this from her. We relied on her for advice and treatment, but we put our faith in the wrong person. When we said that’s the first we heard about that, she accused me of raising my voice and made it seem as if I did something wrong. I had to have another surgery within a few weeks with a much better podiatrist who took care of the problem ~ and had a much better professional manner. Avoid this “doctor.” Most of the patients I saw in her waiting room were elderly, so folks, please do your research and look somewhere else for foot care. Dr. Kristen is such a sweetheart very caring I recommend everyone. She would treat you with the utmost respect and professional caring.

Dr. Biel did surgery on both of my big toes. She put an artificial joint in each and they are working beautifully, 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 yrs later. I never had any infections or complications. I think she is wonderful.

Have been seeing her now for quite a while. Has always been very nice, professional and a pleasure to talk to. I trust her to take the best care of me and I believe she always has. If you need a podiatrist, see her, you will not regret doing so. Thanks again, Walter

I have a fractured bone in my foot. I did not want surgery. She was okay with that and worked with me to get it healed without surgery. I've never had a more caring and compassionate doctor. I highly recommend her.

As a follow up to my post in January of 2018, I want to provide additional information. I started experiencing major pain in my foot shortly after my post and went back several times to see Dr. Biel. Unfortunately she quit replying to my emails which forced me to find another podiatrist. This podiatrist told me the cut was placed directly over the primary nerve on my foot and the scar tissue was pressing on the nerve causing my pain. He tried laser treatments and said if that didn’t help he would need to do surgery to free up the nerve. It helped some but I sought a second opinion before additional surgery. The new podiatrist told me the same thing - that the cut into my foot was directly over the nerve and scar tissue was causing my pain. He tried a few more shots but will need to do surgery again to relieve the nerve. I have endured severe pain for the last 2.5 yrs. Every step I’ve taken has been painful and severely limited my life. No one should have to go through this.

Dr. Biel was friendly and courteous. She obviously knew her stuff. She took care of my callus very easily, and made several suggestions on how to care for my foot. I highly recommend her.
