This psychiatrist is criminally negligent, and should have their medical license revoked. The fact they are still employed by IUB shows IU CAPS does not care about the mental health and livelihood of IUB students. DEMAND CHANGE!!!

Be aware IUB CAPS has had many 1 star reviews deleted by google. IUB CAPS and Dr. Kipley J. Meyers are dangerous! They will lie to and harm you if you aren’t careful. What are you more interested in IU CAPS, protecting IUB students or making profit? ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS!!

Having been Dr. Myers’ patient for more than one year at this point and across multiple appointments, I feel qualified to leave a review: Dr. Myers has impressed me as honest and communicative. In my experience, he is very clear and upfront about his reasoning for his recommendations. Moreover, when I’ve reported that my treatment doesn’t seem to be enough, he has been empathetic and prepared to advise me on next-steps.

A disappointment

He is really patient and answered all my questions. It took a while to find the right medication and dosage, but we kept trying.

He is very condescending and refuses to make a diagnosis. He refuses to listen to you and will tell you you are lying. He is clearly not fit to be a psychiatrist. He belittles people with mental health issues and makes them feel even worse. Not to mention he prescribed me an experimental medication for his studies that messed me up bad

If you want a doctor that cares about you and your mental health, I would not go to Dr. Myers. I almost lost my life because of this fraud of a doctor. He put me on a medication that gave me suicidal thoughts and urges (I have not had a history of this prior). When I told him about this, he said I should continue taking the medication. He also kept switching me to different medications quickly before I had a chance to get used to them. I became significantly more depressed because of the medications I was on. His solution was to increase the dosage of each medication to unnecessary high doses for my condition. My friends, family, and significant other were all very concerned because my personality changed abruptly and I was too depressed to leave my bed. When I was in such a horrible condition that I was unable to make my appointments, instead of expressing concern Dr. Myers told me he didn't want me to be his patient because I couldn't make my appointments. The two medications I was on require you to be withdrawn from them individually over a few months and Dr. Myers did it in two weeks. It was nightmarish what my brain went through during those two weeks. I have never felt so terrible in my entire life. My new, competent psychiatrist is appalled at his treatment and malpractice. I am doing well now and all thanks to him dropping me as a patient. I wish I had never went to this doctor and I wouldn't wish his "treatments" on my worst enemy. I have had attentional issues my whole life. When I was finally introduced to the right medication it changed my life. I went to him because I needed my meds refilled and he refused to give me my adhd medication because he believed my diagnosis was fake. We went through hell for me to even see a psychiatrist at IU and this is what happened. He’s awful and I would NEVER recommend him to anyone. Not even my worst enemy. Also he’s kinda creepy so yeah. I have had attentional issues my whole life. Once I was put on the right medication, it improved my problems tremendously. Well this man decided my diagnosis was fake and refused to perscribe me my medication. He made me feel so stupid. I came to IU all the way from Maryland so I cannot get meds from my former psychiatrist. This has honestly made coming to college 110% more stressful. So yeah don’t see him. If CAPS tries to schedule you with him demand someone else. He’s a waste of time.

Do NOT see him. ANYONE but him. He works for IU health center for a reason - he's a horrible psychiatrist. He seemed nice and knowledgable the first time, but don't be fooled. He doesn't care about the health of the patient, and he blatantly lies. He lied to my face twice when I confronted him about things he had told me in the past. He accused me of faking a diagnoses. I decided to switch to a real psychiatrist, and without my knowledge Dr.Meyers sent the new psychiatrist a poor referral. If I had any current life threatening mental health issues, my suicide would be on his hands due to the way he mishandles his patients. Do NOT see him. ANYONE but him. He is very good about answering my questions. I have had to call him several times because of my anxiety about taking medication and he's very understanding and patient. We have not yet found a medication that works for me, but I feel as though this is due to my own anxieties and mostly out of his control. He is very persistent and patient in finding the right fit for me.
