My journey from initial phone call to my last evaluation 12 weeks later was so professional. As a dental hygienist, a break in my working right wrist was devastating. After meeting with Dr Mezera's team, going through surgery followed by 8 weeks of detailed OT with Alicia, I was confident about my return to work! I have had no pain! Very professional compassionate and knowledgeable.

This doctor did 4 surgeries on my arm. She used metal plates for dogs. They are the bone up. The last time she put a plate on a bone that had no damage without my consent while I was in surgery to replace a substandard plate she previously used with a titanium. She said it was for reinforcement. I didn't have those concerns. She did. When I found out about it due to an infection it was 10 years later. Both plates were removed at that time at my request. Good thing I did or I would have no arm at all because there would not have been bones. I have very little function with this arm and she shortened it without my consent. If you use her you are putting your life at risk. Watch Dr. Death. Too many doctors think they are God and do what they want because they know they can get away with it. I wish Dr. Mezera was an internist so I could see her twice a year for regular exams. She is professional, bright, friendly and listens and understands your concerns. Her entire staff is friendly, helpful and outstanding. The best experience I have had in a doctor's office in a very long time. I rarely leave online reviews, but this was well deserved.

Best hand surgeon! I’ve had other surgeries by other surgeons and she’s the best. My recovery was much faster, less painful, great results. As a lawyer with Dupuytren’s, I did my due diligence in researching hand surgeons. One name that continued to come up was “Dr. Mezera.” It was apparent from my first meeting with Dr. Mezera, from the way she inspected my hand with great care to the way she genuinely listened to me and cared about my concerns, that she was not only incredibly skilled, but she had a wonderful bedside manner. It was my first surgery and although I had done a lot of research on the internet, I honestly didn’t really know what to expect - especially with the recovery. When the day finally arrived, I will never, ever forget the way Dr. Mezera came to my bedside and explained her surgical plan that day while holding my hand. She was so calm, confident and compassionate. All the hospital staff were also very professional and kind. Dr. Mezera was so attentive. When I woke up, she again came back to visit with me and told me about the procedure. Honestly, the hardest part was showing up. Her skill, together with that of her anesthesiologist, allowed me to recover not only without taking any pain medication, but not even taking a Tylenol! I was swinging a golf club at 5 weeks and my scar healing has been phenomenal. This surgery has restored my hand function and changed my life. It was totally worth it. I would have ZERO hesitation in recommending Dr. Mezera. If you are researching hand surgeons, stop looking. For how nasty the injury was, 4.5 months post surgery & it is nearly like I never broke it in the first place. I was given her name by a family friend who is an orthopedic surgeon in Waco who said she is one of 2 surgeons in Texas that he would trust to do this surgery. After 3 visits to another hand specialist following a fall who placed me in a wrist guard and kept telling me it was just sprained but would get better, I finally found my way to Dr. Mezera. Dr. Mezera not only listened but believed me and ordered an MRI that she was surprised had not been ordered by the previous doctor. It showed a TFCC tear and wrist impingement which was not going to fix itself. Following surgery and OT I do not have the ongoing pain and progressive weakness that I had been dealing with since August 2019. Office and surgical staff are wonderful as well. She should get a zero rating. I have had 4 surgeries with her and all because she used substandard plates on my arm. Plates for dogs. I'm sure my insurance company was charged for the titanium. She ruined my arm forever!

Don't use this doctor. She used substandard metal. Metal for dogs which ruined arm where I can no longer use it. There was nothing wrong with the bone she put one of them on. I have photos. I had 4 surgeries with her from 2006-2017.

One star is too much...this place is a JOKE. It took 3 months and countless phone calls just for Dr. Mezera to "decide" she couldn't/wouldn't treat my husband's hand pain. He had a previous surgery, with another doctor, and it didn't work. Time for a second opinion, so we contacted this office to set up a new patient appointment, had his records sent over from the other doctor and for weeks, Dr Mezera's office gave excuses. First, they never got the records, NOT TRUE. Second, the records were on her desk, she was going to review them and get back to us, NEVER HAPPENED. Third, she needed the "notes" from the other doctor. Not ONCE did anyone at that office call to give updates or ask for any information. Every phone call was initiated by me or my husband. Honestly, it felt like they were stalling us because either they're too busy, or really just don't care. Finally, My husband calls to find out the status, the front desk lady (or whatever her position is) said "I'll find out and call you back." THREE DAYS LATER she calls and says they're referring him to someone else. That was Thursday of last week. We still haven't received the referral, today is Monday. If they don't want to treat certain "cases" or CAN'T, then say so from the beginning. Don't string someone along for months just to send them away. I can’t really rate Dr. Mezera because I never got the chance to see her. My review is based on the staff. I arrived for an appointment at 9:45 and finally when I got tired of waiting at 11:30 I asked the nurse how much longer and she made me feel like I didn’t belong or matter. She said she didn’t know why I was there since my injury was a few weeks ago and I should’ve waited until Monday. While that could’ve been the case that’s their responsibility to tell me not mine. I’ve never experienced someone so disrespectful and unprofessional at a doctors office and hopefully never will again. I recommend booking an appointment with another doctor at the office. Fast and responsive. Knows her stuff. 100% confidence in her knowledge and care I have been to her twice for myself with broken wrists and a child’s broken arm. Always in good hands!

Dr. Mezera has a very gentle kind and patient bedside manner. She’s a top expert in her field and her knowledge and love of medicine comes across in her care for her patients. I’ll never go to another hand doctor because she’s the very best!

Dr Mezera Is the finest Hand and Arms doctor in Dallas she cares about her patients. Which is hard to come by anymore. I think she’s the most wonderful person I’ve ever seen as a physician. I would trust her with any part of my arms and hands and never would second-guess it.

Dr. Mezera performed surgery on my son’s hand due to a football injury. It was a complex case and she handled it beautifully. Had it not been for her expertise, we would have likely been on a long frustrating and painful path. From the time we were referred to her until after the surgery, everyone we talked to assured us that she was the best in Dallas. I now am among her following and agree she is the best! She was very thorough in her evaluation, recommendations, explanations and follow up. We had peace of mind during the entire process. Fantastic doctor

She did a Miracle on fixing the movement on my son's hand. We had lost all hopes and were referred to her by multiple surgeons. It was an extremely delicate procedure and she took all the time and care that was needed. First time I saw Dr. Mezera, she was sympathetic to my "hand struggles" and her approached was with an attitude it can be fix! Won't be easy, but we can fix it! Dupuytren's contracture crippling 2 fingers for sure, decided to do all 5! Still healing and moving forward to be able to use all of my fingers again. It has been well worth the discomfort to have fingers extend. She did 2 carpal tunnel surgeries on me , both wrists, and I have seen her recently for a. Yet in my hand. She is very skillful, nationally respected hand surgeon. She also has a great bedside manner. She listens and gives you options. Great Dr.!

Traveled to Dallas to see Dr. Mezera from West Texas. So glad as they were ready to do surgery where I live and Dr. Mezera was very thorough and it was discovered no surgery was needed. The issue would resolve itself! Dr. Mezera and her staff are wonderful. Highly recommend her.

Dr. Mezera was awesome. She sat with me and explained everything to me, very thoroughly and answered all of my questions. She actually took care of my daughter a few years ago, and did such a great job, and is why i chose her as well for my medical needs.

I was very pleased with Dr. Mezera and her staff in promptly getting me in at my appt time. Dr. Mezera discussed the diagnosis of my problem and the different options for treatment that were available to me. She answered all of my questions regarding each treatment and did not rush me out of the office. I very much appreciated the time that she and her assistant spent with me in discussing my treatment. I've had the privilege of working with physicians for over 30 years. When I fell off my bicycle and broke my elbow, I asked several who was the best at repairing this break. Dr. Kimberly Mezera was the name given to me. What a blessing it was to me to have her performed my surgery. She is compassionate, personable, well trained, professional, and a good listener. It has been many years since Mezera operated on my metacarpal break (break in my hand). I was looking back on my experience just now and I am extremely grateful I recieved such outstanding care. Her and her office followed up with me throughout the time I had the cast and until I got the cast off. If I could rate Mezera and her staff higher than 5 stars I would. I could not be more pleased and happy with the care and attention that I received by Dr. Mezera and her staff. I've been in healthcare for > 36 years (some in orthopedics) and I can say with confidence that Dr. Mezera's specialty skillset is outstanding. Not only is she a great surgeon but she is compassionate and caring too. I always felt comfortable calling the office if I had a question - knowing that the staff would work as a team and respond quickly.

I was lucky to have my broken wrist treated by Dr. Mezera. I had surgery two weeks ago, already I don't feel pain now, and I am recovering quite well. I have been a patient of Dr. Mezera for about 5 years. Unlike other physicians she always gives you whatever time you need, actually listens to you then answers each question carefully and thoroughly, gives you complete explanations for any conditions or procedures and makes sure you know what to expect in the near term and in the future.

I saw Dr. Mezera with a hand issue that was more bothersome than an emergency. I was still able to be seen in her office in a reasonable time frame. She spent an appropriate amount of time with me, showing me the x-rays and explaining my injury to me. I was fully satisfied with my office visit and follow up treatment.

I just completed my second surgery with Dr Mezera, who has been very generous with her time to advise me of my two procedures and to answer my questions. I would not have returned for #2, if #1 had not been successful. I obtained her name after reviewing D - Magazines article on Dallas' Best Doctors. I also wish to comment on the staff's willingness to go the extra mile: Brenda came in to the office to treat my wound on her day off when it required attention from swelling.

Very little wait time, office receptionist most helpful on finishing my paper work, x-ray tech most pleasant and making one feel at ease, Dr. Mezera delightful. She was very thorough in describing what we saw on the x-ray, how things work and what the next step(s) could be.Ala in all, a very good office experience.

I'm an RN who has a good idea about how doctors treat patients by working with quite a view as a floor nurse. I needed corrective surgery after my broken arm misaligned either before or during the cast wrap at another doctors office. My wrist was out of alignment 50 degrees, extremely painful and my fingers were numb when the cast was removed after four weeks. Hands and feet, we've all heard the horror stories of botched surgery's so not just anyone was going to do my surgery. Dr Mezera was referred by an acquaintance who needed corrective surgery on her hands. Charlotte had lost the ability to straighten her fingers and Dr Mezera had given her hands that were stronger now than she could ever remember. She had nothing but great things to say about Dr Mezera and was going for surgery on her other hand. After checking my insurance, Dr Mezera was listed. I had prayed a lot about this and knew this was a blessing delivered. The call was made and even though there were unrelated bumps in the road, had my surgery on Jan 8, 2016. I chose a nerve block shot in my shoulder that numbed my arm from 10 a.m. until 6 a.m. the next morning. I had no pain after surgery and Dr Mezera said she was glad I made that choice, otherwise, it would have been very painful. Even tough I was in a temporary cast for 10 days, it wasn't that bad. I had just had my bone sawed off, realigned, reattached with a titanium plate, a bone graft and only two incisions on the underside of my arm above my wrist. Dr Mezera was truly happy with the results and Mr Larry gave me a blue hard cast. I wear it for 4 weeks until the swelling goes down. Then I get another one for 4 more weeks to keep my hand and wrist from moving until the bone graft heals properly. When Dr Mezera takes care of you, you don't wonder about anything. I have seen Dr. Mezera for the last year for pain in a thumb joint. I find her to be very patient in her manner of caring for patients; she never rushed me to consider surgery. She did all she could to address my pain as well as any questions that I had. She has a unique ability to respond to questions in a manner that is easy to understand. I am now about 4 weeks post surgery and feeling well. Any pain issues have been addressed in a timely manner and I have no regrets about surgery

Dr. Mezera treated me for arthritis in my right hand for several years. Finally, I had to have surgery due to the constant pain. She performed the surgery perfectly. Unfortunately this type of hand surgery has quite a bit of recovery time so it was slow going...nothing to do with the Doctor however. Another friend of mine had the same surgery (she is an Ortho RN) and she told me "it's a slow recovery process". Of course they were both correct. HOWEVER, the pain went away! I have full use of my hand and I am both grateful and thankful to Dr. Mezera - she's a great Doctor whom I highly recommend. In fact, I have the same problem now in my other hand and I'll be calling her office tomorrow to make an appointment for an assessment and to begin some type of treatment. Dr. Mezera also came highly recommended to me by 2 other Doctor's and 2 Ortho Nurses, both RN's. She's also the nicest person...
