Dr. Kimberly Jo Lentz

When we came to New Horizons in 2020, our 8-yr-old daughter could not walk or use her limbs because of chronic Lyme Disease. Within 10 months, she was back on her feet having completely recovered! Dr. Lentz and her team were a God-send to our family!

I saw Dr. Satkamp and while I cannot speak to Dr. Lentz’s abilities, I would say perhaps someone trained as an anesthesiologist shouldn’t be treating Lyme patients. More specifically, names of prominent LLMDs should not be mentioned at appointments, especially when one is not willing to prescribe medications inline with how these well known LLMDs practice medicine and treat Lyme patients. This practice will be more than happy to prescribe you anti-microbials, however do not expect to be prescribed much else for symptoms or side effects of medication you may be having. In fact, I found this doctor to continually ignore complaints I had about lingering symptoms, medication requests as a result, and also begin to develop a bad attitude. Do yourself a favor and visit an experienced LLMD, not an anesthesiologist who runs what he describes (self-admittedly) as a “consultative practice.” Lyme disease is a complex and multi-systemic illness requiring individualized care and multiple treatment modalities. Incidentally, the office was empty before two of my three office appointments. I got the sense that this practice runs a churn and burn approach, and I would be surprised if they have long-term retention with their patients. After refusing to prescribe a requested medication for fatigue, Dr. Satkamp stated, “Your energy levels will never be what they were before you had Lyme disease,” and then proceeded to try to sell me supplements for fatigue and energy. After refusing to pay at the last appointment, due such an asinine remark, the doctor would fail in sending the follow up treatment plan discussed at the last appointment. *Due this review being of opinion and factual in nature, any removal by New Horizons Integrative Medicine, LLC will result in legal filings under the United States Federal Civil Rights Statutes. I have been a patient of Dr. Lentz since 2011. Her staff is very friendly and professional. She has her appointments scheduled in a way that you do not have to wait for your appointment. I appreciate the calm waiting room. Dr. Lentz is an excellent listener and asks pertinent questions. I find that she fully explains everything I need to know in the healing process. I understand that tick-born illnesses are very complicated and appreciate the amount of time she spends with me to “get it right”. Dr. Lentz is knowledgeable about current research. She utilizes diet recommendations, antibiotics, supplements, and herbals while treating. I recently had unusual complications with a prescription. Dr. Lentz and her office personnel were in constant contact with my husband and I to help me through my medical issues. She even worked cooperatively with my primary care physician and the physician on call at the hospital. And all the extra time she spent in all these communications were never billed. Every staff member I have encountered in this office truly care about their patients and will do everything humanly possible to make living with Lyme and co-infections better while searching for a cure. Dr. Lentz is one of the top doctors in the United States. She is highly knowledgeable in all areas of medicine and is directly connected to the Indiana School of Medicine where she serves as a mentor/teacher to other physicians. Dr. Lentz is an active collaborator, compassionate listener and stays current of new medicine and treatments. She serves as a cutting edge pioneer/leader for other doctors. She carefully monitors each of her patients. She actively networks with other doctors and helps patients in the referral process. Dr. Lentz thoroughly examines you, and has broad experience in"neglected" fields of medicine. She uses the best laboratories in the United States which turn up problems and pathogens the majority of hospitals and doctors fail to find. She documents a plan for each patient and prints it before you leave. Dr. Lentz is very efficient and always on times for her appointments. Dr. Lentz saved my life and I have seen her save others. I highly recommend Dr. Lentz!

Dr. Lentz and everyone in this practice are amazing. They are extremely knowledgeable They got me through the worst time in my life. Thank you so much for everything.

Dr Lentz is very responsive and seems to care. The wait time is short. Her staff is great. She is well organized. She will spend time with you. She listens to what you have to say. However, I found her to be reckless in her treatment approach and not all that open minded or honest. She diagnoses and treats everyone with the same tick born infections and does not try to confirm with testing. She tries to base everything on symptoms and never tries to rule out further issues. If you do well with the treatment then that is great but if you fail to respond to her aggressive treatment approach, she acts as if it is your fault that you are not better and takes no responsibility for anything. Had I not been so proactive and smart, I would STILL be stuck in an endless cycle of treatment- addressing the WRONG problem. I found that she is not a reliable source of information. She would say something and later claim that she had never said that, when I know damn well she did. I observed a similar pattern when discussing her with other patients. She is confusing! She gives you a lot of hope starting out and you might trust her as I did, she is just not always honest. I wish I could go back in time and listen to what my body was telling me rather than her... Her treatments made me horribly ill! She puts on a good front and she is better than a lot of doctors, just do not get too wrapped up in her treatment approach or what she tells you... I was sorry to see such a negative review because my experience has been the opposite. I too am still struggling to get better but I am a healthcare professional myself and I will tell you that you will NOT find better care under any doctor than under Dr. Lentz. No one Dr can cover all illnesses and each person needs to understand this. Dr. Lentz or a member of her staff respond to calls typically within 24 hours. If you are in need and inquire about your suspicions that your symptoms might not be Lyme related, Dr. Lentz is agreeable to run other tests - but one needs to understand that Lyme Disease is her primary specialty. Their interest in lyme goes far deeper than the patient they too have experienced the ravishing effects of lyme on them or their immediate family. It's nothing to leave a message for them to call when they re-open yet get a phone call the same day as they check their messages frequently. A rare find in Healthcare today. Dr. Lentz is very knowledgeable and caring. She keeps up on the latest advancements in her specialty. The treatment plan is very thought out and detailed. She saved my life!

I found the practice to be unstable and unpredictable. Big price increases every year that I have been in treatment. It got to the point that it was just not worth it. You can get more broad spectrum care for the cost elsewhere. Dr Lentz seems very unstable herself and has a very short fuse. Not all that knowledgeable and does not explain things well. If you are just looking for someone to just give you a concoction of antibiotics then this is the right place. I just wanted more thorough care.

I'm very glad to be Dr Lentz's patient. She is knowledgeable and open minded and lets me ask all the questions I need to ask. Wait times are short yet somehow I get all the time I need too. The office staff are kind and helpful as well. Highly recommend!
