Excellent surgeon, very caring and listens to his patients !!!

Thank goodness I was referred to Dr. Setter. I received two cortisone shots in both shoulders just last week and finally have some relief after experiencing extreme pain for nearly two months. Thank you so much Dr . Setter for everything.

I already commented on Dr Setter, it was quite along response. I hope Upstate Ortho received it. I switched from my phone to my tablet if that makes a difference. I don’t want to redo everything I already did?? But then he said he was going to send in a steroid to help me with pain he said it would even help my knee. ( that’s crooked) but when my husband went to get it. It was never called in. So , oh well so much for pain medication. I’m getting use to being forgotten. Otherwise a great visit. Meeting with Dr Setter wad a great experience. He explained everything so that I could understand exactly what was going to happen. I am glad I was referred tl him.

Had a minor surgery on my hand, followed by two complications. They did something to the sutures at post-op, resulting in an infection. Now my hand is in constant pain. Dr Setter has basically ignored and dismissed my concerns. (I've had this surgery before, with different surgeons, so I know this is not normal.)

I had an issue with my shoulder and Dr. setter brushed it off and never got to the bottom of it. I had to struggle to have him order tests for me and he often ordered the wrong tests. He lacks any attention to detail, creative thinking, and persistence. I would never want any family member to be cared by him.

I had two surgeries on my wrist/hand. Doctor setter was very professional, nice and truly cares about his patients.

Dr. Setter Lied on an official NYS compensation form., He stated he measured me for loss of use when he did not. He told me in person that my injury warranted the highest percentage loss, then gave me 15 percent. He wrote down false measurements because he never. Measured my shoulder’s R.O.M. The State Dr. actually measured me and gave me 47.5 percent. Setter caused me a lot of problems, and almost blew my case. When I tried to contact him he dodged me and ignored me. The first time I saw him a few years back he was honest, and had some integrity, things change I guess. Dr Setter was referred to me in 2006 for a torn rotator cuff. He repaired it and everything is great. In November he told me I needed a total replacement on the opposite shoulder. He was great again and he never had to cut any muscles or ligaments. I am still doing PT but thanks to his skills, I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. He is awesome!!! Knew excatly what was wrong with me within minutes of talking to me!

Dr. Setter has been my shoulder doctor since 2011. I had a badly injured shoulder as well as a frozen shoulder. Right from the first time I met Dr. Setter, I knew that I was finally in the right place AND in the hands of the right doctor. Dr. Setter is WELL versed in his practice and profession and was able to put my real concerns to rest. He is compassionate and he took the time to explain to me how the surgery would be done. He kept his word and ensured that my pain was well controlled.

He was very honest with me. Told me what the problem was and that it was my decision of I could live with it or not. Had the surgery and i am only 6 weeks post op and doing great. This is my third shoulder replacement, first one was a partial and the wrong size was used, the second one came apart. I highly recommend Dr. Setter, he took his time and answered any questions I had. He never made me feel like any of my questions were foolish or unimportant.

Dr. Setter fixed my left shoulder after another doctor operated on it and kept telling me that there was nothing wrong with my shoulder and that the problem was my neck.

I broke my shoulder and arm in March of 2015 and besides having it take three days for Dr. Setter to fit me into his schedule because he is in such high demand, I am very happy with the excellent care he has provided me over the past 10 months.
