Had a tumor the size of a tennis ball that had to be removed. Dr. McGrail was amazing. He not only explained the procedure to me but also explained what to expect post surgery. I never felt rushed and he took all time I asked for. A rare experience these days.

He makes you have confidence in him right away--easy to talk to with a wonderful disposition. I have to have a dreadful (possible) pre-op procedure and he bet me that it wouldn't hurt. I said, "I'd like to lay money on that." He would only go for a dollar! Seriously, super nice, approachable, fabulous credentials. He didn't get the job as Chief of Neurosurgery by accident. No sir-ee. The staff is so polite--I was an hour late (gasp) coming in from VA and everyone acted like it was just fine

Dr. McGrail was very through and very personable. He answered all of my questions and explained my options well. I decided in favor of having a crainiotomy to remove my meningioma as it was my best option. He also explained my other two options, radiation therapy and wait and see. He explained that radiation therapy would cause issues for me as toxins released from the meningioma during radiation therapy would cause unpleasant side effects. The wait and see option was probably not an

Dr McGrail operated on me in 1997 as an emergency brain bleed, aneurysm, on a late Sunday night, early Sunday morning. After going 12 days with it not being detected, he saved my life. Now in 2016 I am still here to thank him.
