Dr. Kevin W Mcconnell

I was very disappointed in my surgical consult with Dr. McConnell. He was very dismissive and made more eye contact and interacted more with the nurse than me while he explained MY medical condition! He told the nurse a drawn out story about a patient that had MY medical condition. Oh, did I mention the nurse was standing behind him?! How disrespectful!! I'm sure he didn't believe I was a nurse when I told him, but when I told him a thorough medical and surgical history and threw a few medical acronyms and abbreviations at him he stopped short and checked himself. He showed his true colors when he encountered this educated Black woman which is sad this day in age...especially when the mission of the facility is to treat the whole person. After a couple weeks of deep consideration, I decided to cancel the surgery and see another surgeon. This behavior cannot be ignored and it will not be tolerated.

Dr. McConnell was one of many doctors who was on my sons medical team. He had been sick for awhile and eventually landed in the hospital as an emergency admit patient. He performed a cholecystectomy on my son. We had been through a lot with my child in and out of the ER and not having any answers. Dr. McConnell was amazing and made my family feel comfortable with everything that was going on and what needed to be done. He’s very thorough and cares about his patients. Highly recommend him!

I would recommend this doctor. I am very pleased with the surgery and follow up care i have received.
