Dr. Kiely and everyone at the office are just wonderful. Have always been put under for anything oral health but for some reason still knew what was going on during my surgery. I fight horrible anxiety but this was the best procedure I've ever had! Definitely suggest this office and very thankful for them.

A super clean facility with a professional, efficient, accommodating, and ultra-friendly staff! As I had to bring my daughter with me, they were so kind to set her up in a separate room with the movie Minions while I had my procedure! My procedure was performed by Dr. Kiely. He was AWESOME! He explained in great detail what he was going to do, and what to expect post procedure. Definitely a consummate professional, I loved the fact that he played music and communicated with me during the procedure! I wholeheartedly recommend Coastal Oral & Maxillofacial for any oral surgery needs!

All doctors should be like Dr. Kiely. Excellent surgeon, describes the problems very well, excellent communicator during surgery, and so on. AND understands that costs may matter to some of us. He knows the overall prices, the prices w/insurance are readily available, and he is more than willing to advise against procedures that may be common but are not really needed.

I was super nervous to get my 4 wisdom teeth pulled. 2 had broken off and was surrounded by soft tissue and one was growing in crocked. I went to Coastal and they’re so professional, kind and reassuring. I seen Dr. Kelly for my initial exam and he was the nicest and super understanding. Dr. Gurries performed my surgery today and I am so grateful to him. It was actually a wonderful experience. They even called to check on me once I got home after surgery. Wow! I called on a whim to see if could be seen today to extract a wisdom tooth that had broken and they got me in! Tooth gone, happy camper. Staff is amazing!! Can't thank you enough.

The nurses and staff were fantastic. I do not like shots or going to the doctor, and I have anxiety when I do. Dr. Gurries and his team were so nice and knew what to do to keep me calm. All of my instructions were printed out so I didn't have to remember anything. Thank you so much.

I had a broken tooth and in extreme pain. The earliest my primary dentist could schedule the extraction was 8 weeks out. Dr kiely's team found a way to work me in the very next morning. They were friendly, compassionate and professional. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.

They are amazing!!!! Took me in as emergency and I had to wait a while but Dr Kiely spends SO much time with every patient because he cares! Dr. Kiely was great. I am only wondering when his billing staff will reimburse me the money that I paid in addition to my insurance company as double payment will be returned to me. The billing staff is not very responsive.

My first visit for a tooth extraction.The doctor was very informative and after reviewing my medical information scheduled and appointment at the next available time for surgery.

This was my first visit as a patient & I was instantly put at ease. All of my options were explained, until I felt I understood what I was being told. For what it's worth I'm going back to possibly get 1 or more biopsies. That's how much I trust them.

DR. Kiely was very thorough, patient, answered all my questions and perhaps most importantly convinced me I could trust his diagnostic and surgical skills. I walked into the office somewhat confused about the options for a dental implant requiring bone grafting. Dr. Kiely was smart and kind. He sat with us for quite a while explaining the issue, then suggested several courses of action depending on our preference and our wallet. He even managed to schedule me in quite quickly. I feel confident that he will do the job well, but will let you know when it happens.

If you are considering another doctor in town, like Dr. H, forget it. See Dr. Kiely and his team. No sense of arrogance here. They are very flexible and cooperative. Dr. Kiely is friendly, informative, patient and very skilled. Our procedure was for 4 wisdom teeth removal. There was minimal pain and no complications in our case.

Dr. Kiely and his assistant were exceptionally caring professionals. This was my first experience with them and I will return to this practice with any future needs. Minimal discomfort, procedure was efficiently accomplished without any difficulties - very well done all around.

Saw Dr. Kiely today for a problem with my gums. I couldn't be more pleased with the way I was treated by the Doctor and his entire staff. Excellent customer service. I didn't have to wait at all. Once in the examination room, the Doctor was quick to visit me. He devoted all of his attention to me. I never felt rushed. He stayed with me until I completely understood my condition. I would Never recommend anyone to Dr. Kiely! I had 2 extractions and had severe pain days after surgery, I called his office he was off on Wednesday. I was told I could come in on Thursday. I tried to hang in there with the pain and discomfort. I called the after hours number at weee hours in the night because,I could not sleep and to see what he may advise.(most surgeons have after hours and on call docs) The answering service took my message and I was expecting the doc would get back with me( Dr. Kiely) It was an automated text back that said"come to the office in the morning " I had no fever I toughed it out and just came to the office the next morning. Dr. Kiely looked at my surgery sites and did some packing. I expressed to him how I was just really worried about dry sockets, infections and my symptoms worsening. I had intense pain Headache and not sleeping! I did all that I was instructed per his post op papers and still not Improving. It clearly stated in black and white if not better after 2/3 days call doc and may need to be seen it could be something more serious. I have young kids that I have to take care of, and definitely was concerned with my progress. I have known patients of mine and friends that have died, from infections complications septic etc. from oral surgery! As I was walking out, I told him I called last night and that it was unusual that he does not call or have a ON call doc for post op patients to advise and address questions serious issues &concerns. He then became really loud yelling at me saying!he needs his sleep too and that my pain is not that important and could not be that serious and it is not fair to him that I should expect for him to call me back, he needs his sleep and i was not going to make it his problem and it was unfair for me to expect him to get up at 2oclock. Me shocked thinking " News flash that is what surgeons do"! "You are a doctor a Surgeon , right! He says, "That if I need help I can go to Sentara ER let them tuck me in bed let them give me a little IV in my arm and that I was wrong to think he should care about the pain and symptoms I have at 2 o'clock in the morning. He called me selfish. His behavior was so inappropriate It was sad and hurtful! He was so loud and very ignorant with me while outside the examine room in front of all his staff and for all the patients to hear and witness. I asked him why was he so loud why are you yelling, and that he did not need to talk to me like this, I am the patient I am the one in pain, he said, "I made him mad now because I felt that he should have called me back to advise me and that he did not appreciate me saying most surgeons in my experience get back with their patients or have a partner that will. Dr. Kiely embarrassed me tried to belittle me and showed me just what he thought of me as a patient. His personality was night and day from my initial visit before surgery, and after surgery when it was all said and done. I work in the medical field myself for more than 12 years for several different specialists/docs over the years to include some of the Best surgeons and been a patient to some really nice and good surgeons. I know first hand this is UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR! It is ashame that some doctors think they are Gods and can treat you like a second class citizen!!! I was Never rude or nasty to him despite his disrespect. To anyone considering coming to Coastal Oral surgery, You really need to rethink your decision. There are other oral surgeons out here that will not be a doctor Jekyl and Mr. Hyde, that will has compassion for you and care for you as a human as a Patient!
