I made an appointment to get an IUD and wasn’t aware that it was a male dr. He was cold about my uncomfortably and basically told me it was him or no one. I agreed to let him continue because I was already there and didn’t want to chicken out if I were to reschedule. As he finished he tossed a pad at me and goes here’s this in case I slimed you. I just felt like it was poor bedside manner and poor choice wording. I feel like saying “you might have some bleeding, here is a pad just in case”’would have sounded a lot better. Him saying that felt sleazy.

The new 3D mammography was amazing and Kathy the technician was very informative and loves her job. I have been with Dr Hackett for 32 years and enjoy my yearly visit with him. The office staff is very kind and the office runs efficiently. Till next year :)

I delivered through Professionals for Women's Health and really really wish I had a better experience. Now, I will say that I really wanted an unmedicated birth and was more opinionated about my birth experience than many - but that is also why I think it's important to share this experience and why I would NOT recommend them for someone who is looking for an empowered birth experience. They have midwives on staff and some are amazing, but others are not. You see different midwives and doctors for different appointments, which led to inconsistent care in my opinion. There were several times where I received conflicting recommendations based on who I saw. While you can request to see certain midwives for appointments (I found one I loved and requested her each time) you cannot choose who comes to your delivery. I went to Dr. Hackett to review a recent ultrasound and talk to him about scheduling a surgery to remove a persistent and painful ovarian cyst. From the moment he walked into the consult room, he seemed like he was annoyed that I was even there. He seemed more annoyed when I asked him about my endometriosis symptoms and whether surgery should be considered for a cyst that size, considering it hadn't resolved in 2+ years. He immediately dismissed my concerns, misreading the write-up of my ultrasound, saying that it states that the cyst is only 1cm in diameter and nothing to worry about. The write up ACTUALLY says that my cyst is nearly 6cm in diameter. When I pointed this out calmly, he came back at me saying- "And how many of these have you read?" I am 1000% convinced he had never even looked at the actual ultrasound images. I could go on and on about how demeaning he was and how dismissive he was about my pain but other reviews seem to have that covered. What I will say is- EVEN IF my cyst was "only 1cm," he did zero to address my concerning symptoms and pain other than to push medication and implying that I should have a baby while I still can. Please avoid this doctor. There is a difference between being a straight-forward person and outright rudeness and misogyny. I have always received excellent care from Dr. Hackett. He is always looking out for the safest and best methods for my care. I have beening going to him since I was 19 years old, I am now 41, & he has delivered both of my children. He is amazing!

I had an appointment with Dr Kevin Hackett. He didn’t take my care in needs. I had the blood work previously done and brought it with me. He kept saying quotes (old sayings) numerous times. He read the Progesterone results wrong (should be 15+). Mine was 12 and going down (now it’s less than 10). He told me to lose 100 lbs and I am healthy but not healthy. What does that even mean?? And blame it on my brain surgery I had in 2006 and for me to go back to my neurologist. Which I did. My neurologist said progesterone has NOTHING to do with the brain. He didn’t do anything but gave me a cream for itching. I asked him what about my blood work (progesterone level), I was told that there is nothing more he can do and lose weight, call a dermatologist if itching won’t stop “ok what about the dryness”??, and my level is normal range. I will never go back to him and I’m going to someone who will take care of me and my hormone imbalance. Plus I found out one of my friends went there to a different doctor (less then a year ago) she was not taking care for a mass she has on her ovary and now it spread to her pancreas and getting a surgery soon to get it removed. First and last visit today. Office staff very very VERY helpful and kind! Doc on the other hand? Curt, sarcastic (not humorously), and completely insensitive and not empathetic in the least. I’m fine with no sugarcoating, I’m a tough woman, but I won’t be talked to like an insolent child, either. He's the best OB/GYN I've ever had! He performed a complicated surgery on me back in 2010 and did a phenomenal job. I've kept him as my OB/GYN ever since!

I have been with Dr. Hackett since I was 19 years old. I am not 38. I would see Dr. Hackett for all my medical needs if I could. He is honest and upfront, but with diplomatic respectful bedside manner. He is the best!!!!

Dr. Hackett is an amazing doctor. I was 15 weeks pregnant when his staff correctly told me the lump in my breast may not be just pregnancy. Christina DiPiero told me to get a scan in 24 hours after I found a lump in my breast. I was diagnosed in 5 days. Breast cancer + Pregnancy ... not something you think of as typical. But it's not out of the question. 1 in 3000 women will be diagnosed while pregnant. I could not have gotten through this without Dr. Hackett. He was an advocate for me, my child, and BOTH of our well being. He pushed back at early delivery suggestions, pushing the oncology team to answer *why*. Without me asking, he kept up to date on my file. He watched as my counts dropped. He knew when I was hospitalized and visited me, saying, "you look a lot more sick on paper than you do in person." He is a reasonable, experienced, great doctor. He is attentive - he calls me if I need something..even on a Sunday. He IS straightforward - but, I appreciate hearing how things really are instead of sugar coatedness. If you're looking for constant coddling, maybe he's not your guy. Very insensitive and rude.. Not a people person... A spirit breaker

I am not a high-strung, unreasonable patient, so when I say this - it's for real. If my experience is any indication, Mr. Hackett (I cannot use Doctor in good conscience) is demeaning, sarcastic, mocking, insensitive, and has no business serving in the medical profession. He is a misogynist, not a gynecologist.

Dr. Hackett saved my life, my twins life and saved my husband from becoming a widower and my other two kids from becoming motherless. After reading the reviews on Dr. Hackett are shocking and NOT my experience at all. He is straight forward person. He doesn't sugarcoat Anything!!! 32 weeks ago we found out we were expecting again. Dr. Hackett was the one who told us they were twins!! He used an internal sonogram and he was gentle. I hate going to the doctors office I am always a nerves wreck. At 25 weeks I went to Riverside hospital due to having trouble breathing (I thought it was my Asthma) I got checked in my blood pressure was 205/197 and I was already tearing fluid. It I was blowing up like a balloon!! My high risk OB from riverside stated they had to get the babies out I order to save my life and theirs!!I I had to intubated. I literally thought I was going to die when they took of my breathing mask to put my sleeping gas mask on. I thought Jessica was about to be no more and my husband would be a widower of two or four kids depending on if the twins survived or not. I crashed multiple ones on the table. Dr. Hackett said I was his easiest Csection ever due to the lack of blood since my heart was not strong enough at that time to pump my blood throughout my body correctly BUT he said I was his baddest case ever!! I made him nervous. I was in the ICU for 5 days. Every staff member knew of me and my kids and our story!! I was on the cardiac floor for 2 days. My kids were a week old when I was finally able to see them! Zion was born at 1lb 5.8 ounces Elijah was born at 1lb 11ounces Due to me coughing and etc I busted my stitches and once I had them removed I had to get a hole packed for almost a month. Dr. Hackett was the first to pack and pop a bubble that was filled with fluid. I felt absolutely nothing. My husband said he was sticking things in my stomach and pushing. I still felt nothing at all! He packed my wound and patched me up!! I trust his hands and knowledge!! We talked for a while due to the fact the last time he saw me I was taped up , intubated, half fed and my existence unknown, died multiple times my kids were born dead. So to see me smiling and talking and laughing made him feel good!! He stated to cry saying I'm scared him to death!! He brought in his staff and said"this is the woman I was telling you about!" I went back the second time he said no more kids for her!! She is done!! Next time will not will good for her!! His staff said I'm his favorite patient!! He doesn't say that a lot!! He hugs us every time and says he loves us!! He is a well seasoned doctor! But I know call him Uncle Hackett!!! Thank you for saving our lives!! Dr. Hackett is a reasonable, experienced, great dr. I am going through a very stressful pregnancy, and he has been an advocate for me, my child, and BOTH of our well being. He is attentive - he calls me if I need something..even on Sunday. He IS straightforward - but, I appreciate hearing how things really are instead of sugar coatedness. He also kept throwing my medical forms & the records he did have around the room with his very shaky /trembling hands! Wish I would've read these reviews before my appointment. My primary care Dr. had given me a dvd of the procedure when he found the cysts. I did bring that with me, but he said he wasn't going to waste his time watching it! I can't stress enough how wretched & horrible he is. I encourage everyone whose had similar experiences to report him to the Ohio medical board as I have.
