Dear Cin, San The use of passive stabilization devices in dentistry have been an accepted tool for rendering treatment to patients who are likely to injure themselves during treatment for decades. We get a lot of parents who do NOT want their children put to sleep because they are afraid that they “won’t wake up.” The alternative sometimes requires the use of passive stabilization. It is mentioned in the “informed consent” you were given and I will often mention it as part of the options available to you. We always give the parent the options and they get to choose. The use of passive stabilization is always OPTIONAL. We look at using these devices if it will increase safety of the patient. Occasionally, the use of passive stabilization is not indicated – i.e. patient is fighting so hard that we do not want to injure them trying to place them in the device or some cases of PTSD. For these patients, I recommend treatment under general anesthesia which, as recent incidents have shown, is not without its own risks. The vast majority of patients do not need these to be restrained. Other options I present when treating is to simply reschedule if the patient is having a bad day. This place is horrible. The rudest manager ever just to start! I have brought my children here for 6 years and have story after story of terrible experiences including pulling a tooth without permission. I have finally wizened up and given up on these people. Do not bring your children here!!

I just left dr.fleming and all i can say is they are amazing with kids. I was Referred by another denist due to my son being only 5 and needing alot of work done.they did an amazing job his Assistant did an amazing job keeping him calm while they pulled 2 teeth

I used to want to protect my name in situations, no I just want to protect my peace. I let whoever think whatever. Love yourself, for I know the good I do for people on a daily. I love my patients they bring joy to my day. ????????????

My daughter cant stop talking about Kezia she loves her! one of the staff for Dr. fleming❤️ My daughter had to get 2 fillings and Kezia was a godsend! My baby is 2 and it was a very positive experience for her. Also been bringing my 12 year old there since he got teeth. Dont know whats up with the negative comments. I know they're strict on making your appt time but of course its a business. Dr.Fleming is absolutely a great Doctor, 2 years ago, I went to 5 doctors before I found him, all of them want to put my 3 years old son under general anesthesia to fix his cavities, they all want easy job &easy money, they don't care about the danger of General anesthesia in 3 years old Child, they care about easy money only, but.Fleming he fixed my Son's 9 cavities without General anesthesia, and my son is very active boy, it was well done Job, God bless your heart and your Magic hands, Dr.Fleming. and Dr.Fleming Fleming also have a great office manager, she is really strict about appointments and being on time, and nothing wrong with that, people should be respectful to the appointment time, and aslo the doctor time ,if 2 or 3 customers allowed to be late , this will affect all the other Patients time. Stay away from these people bad service rude employee. Really bad choice for kids.

I took my kids a couple months ago and I was given really bad service from the Doctor. He came in to the room didn't acknowledge my daughter and I, worked on her in complete silence and just told us to come back in two weeks for further treatment, I had to ask him what she had before he existed the room because he clearly didn't plan on letting us know. Two Weeks later I had to move the appt. due to work. When I called to change it TWO days before, the receptionist who turned out to be the manager, started questioning me, giving me attitude, and overall being very rude from the start for needing a different appt. I immediately changed dentist's. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! I took my kids a couple months ago and I was given really bad service from the Doctor. Horrible people and dentists. Stay away from them. They are rude and the dentist is exclusively rude. They dont try to ease the child as other dentist office do. No instead he makes fun of the children while they are crying and starts poking their teeth in a aggresive manner. Their way of working with children is to strap them down in a jack if they are being "difficult " as they call them. When in reality they should have made it a good experience for them. I was 4 minutes late. they refused to c him. what the heck... when life stops u at every stop sign there is not any thing u can do about maybe this is his way of retiring lol formerly a 5 star review. - but I think they don't want clients anymore. Im shocked that this dentist has the bottom 2 reviews ... I love this dentist. Both of my boys go there ...when my son needed a, cavity filled... He used white filling rather than the metal filling. He does that out of his own pocket cuz he cares about the children's teeth. There's never a long wait... infact most times I've gone it was with in 5 minutes and they called us to our room. After the assistants clean their teeth then the dentist comes in to verify our procedure went well and checks out their teeth. My younger son had issues when he was small. We were able to get a few teeth pulled and have spacers put in so his bigger teeth would come in straighter and it really worked. I have complete confidence in this dentist. ... I was once a patient of Dr. Fleming myself. I've always received great service. Dr Fleming treated my children as well. Though not a very talkative dr. He is a well qualified dr. I would recommend Dr. Fleming to anyone looking for a dentist for their kids. I don't know why so many people are saying such bad things. You take your kid there to get dental work, not make friends with the dr and the staff... You can't beat the experience that Dr Fleming has. These reviews seem to be posted by people who don't get the fact that it's hard to work in a childs mouth. Strapping a kid to the chair is done for their own safety. Maybe instead of posting a bad review on the damn internet, you should try setting an appt to talk to the Dr in private and find out what's going on. maybe people shouldn't expect their kids dental appts to be fun... maybe people should teach their kids to take care of their teeth instead of sitting on a cell phone or video game.. but sadly that would require that many of you put some effort into your kids raising. I will never take my kids back there. WORST experience ever.

Would give less if I could. They canceled our appointment cause of 5 mins late. My daughter is in high school and could not get an afternoon appt. She had fear of dentist as it is and he does not do well with it. He canceled her last appt cause she was nervous. So u guess if you have a child with perfect teeth and no fear then this maybe the office for you. Just totally unbelievable bad customer service policy. Would give less if I could. Their customer service is bad from the moment you walk in front office to the moment they take you to the back office. They work with kids but care less to be nice to them or to us their parents. At times the staff seamed they hate their jobs and its too obvious. The provider hardly explains his findings after final mouth exam...not professional at all. I took my kids there for at least two years and had bad service at all times. I regret going there. I would not recommend this dental office. Not a good experience here. Dr Flemming is weary and their manager Joyce is a mean person. Definitely don't recommend anyone to come here. This practice sucks they have some sort of clause where you are a minute late or miss your appointment they dismiss you. As a single parent not every thing plans out for me.. They deal with children they need to understand real life happens. I wouldn't waste my time.

The receptionists are good with helping minor tasks. On the other hand, the dentist himself I would not even rate 1 star. He comes into the room and does not even greet my mother and myself when we take my younger brother. His attitude is very SOUR. When extracting a tooth out of my younger brother's mouth, he ALLOWED the instrument to cross right over my brother's eyes (He is 5 years old) OF COURSE he would freak out and get scared! If I could give a no star I would. Not one to go online and complain because I think all small business deserve a shot, especially since i work in Lodi for a small business just down the street from here.. However, my wife pulls all 3 of my children out of school for a 12:50 appointment from Stockton, which they ask her to be there 10 minutes early. She shows up at 12:50 and the receptionist has attitude and says that the dentist will not see her due to being late. I emphasize the office is empty at this point. She asked my wife if she would like to reschedule, which is weeks out at a time. My wife chooses to not make a future appointment at that time since she was a bit shocked by the demeanor of the lady at the front desk. Three days later a letter comes in mail stating that DDS fleming has chosen to no longer care for the children and to find a new dentist. Wouldn't be suprised if that decision rested on the receptionist alone. Anyways glad they no longer seeing my children. Recommend finding someone that doesn't have 2 one star ratings to operate on your family's dentistry needs. Already been sharing with friends, family and coworkers to stay away. My daughter has been here for a couple of years now and so far it's been good. My son who's a toddler just started coming here also. The dentist himself is always kind and patient. He always smiles and greets us well. There are a couple of staff memebers that I love and that are gentle and playful with the kids. (Which is the way a children's dental office should be) And a couple that are ok. Some are really talkative and like to converse while others not so much. But it could just be their personality or have had a bad day maybe. But no one is really ever rude or anything like that. Ive had two bad experiences with the dental assistants. I understand that some times kids gums are going to bleed when they are cleaning their teeth but I expect it from the actual procedure, not long acrylic nails! I saw her nail scrape my sons gums and he reacted so I know it hurt. It took everything in me not to freak. But I told her, that her nail caused his bleeding. She just casually said it was from the cleaning. Which she may have really believed... but I knew better I could clearly see from where I was sitting. But other than that she was super nice and made my son feel at ease. So I liked her, just not her long acrylic nails which I thought were unprofessional in her field. The next bad experience was much worse for me. It was with the dental assistant cleaning my daughter's teeth. He was kind of rough. She kept making noises because she was hurting. (She's Never done before when she's gotten her teeth cleaned) I asked her if he was hurting her and she said yes. So I asked him to go softer he said ok. But he wasn't too happy about it. Then when saliva was dragged on to her face, by her cheeks, (bc of the tool he used and how he chose to go over her face when putting it back), he suctioned it rather than wiped it was a paper towel or the 'bib'. The first time I let it slide, by the second time I asked if he could just wipe it with the towel or the bib. He tried to justify by saying its gentle and that it doesn't hurt but it scared her every time he did it and I thought it was very rude and unprofessional. I mean it was in her mouth and now you are going to rub it on her face? ???? But other than that everything has been fine. I choose to keep them here because I like the dentist, most of the staff is super nice and this is probably the best children's dentist our health plan works with. I just keep a close eye and if I see anything I feel is out of order, I politely say something. I like the appointment reminders, they always send something in the mail and they call the day before to confirm, he office is very child like, they have tvs, toys and books, they also give really great goody bags when they are all done with their check up... and stickers!
