Amazing doctor.

I would absolutely recommend OrthoIllinois to family and friends - one nearby location for speedy x-rays, mri's, doctor appointments, physical therapy, etc. Dr. Carlile fits in very well with this provider - very dedicated professional.

My 91YO mother fell and broke her leg in early January. Dr. Carlile performed the surgery and mom is healing well. Before surgery and during our recent checkups his explanations of the procedure and healing process have been informative and compassionate. He speaks to mom directly and makes sure she’s understanding her PT goals. His team is helpful and supportive.

Besides the long wait time the visit was very good. Thank you.

I recently broke my leg and went to Ortho Illinois for help. The first meeting with Dr. Carlisle was great, as he spent time with me and answered any questions I had. Since that first visit, I’ve had 4 follow up appointments (totaling about 15 minutes of face to face time and over 3 hours of waiting). He did not show up to the last two appointments. When I had questions about my condition, the assistants response was “you’ll need to make another appointment and ask him”. I am beyond aggravated with the “treatment” I’ve received. He shows up late, and with his fast and dismissive approach to our appointments makes me feel as if he doesn’t care. My last appointment was canceled and I never received a phone call notifying me of the cancelation. I was fortunate enough to get an X-ray snd was told I’d get a phone call later that day with the results. 24 hours have passed and I have still not received a call. Dr. Carlile and Amanda will take the time to explain everything to you and answer all your questions. I felt very confident going into surgery and well informed. Every body on the staff make it a better experience.

Dr. Carlile is HANDS down the smoothest surgeon in Illinois (in my humble opinion) period! He operated on my pelvis, hips, and lower back on 7/4/20 or 7/3/20 (not 110% sure on which day as I was “outta it). Not only was it 4th of July weekend, BUTTTTTUHHHH, I had bottom of the line insurance via and thanks to the State of Illinois Molina healthcare for providing me with FREE healthcare coverage. Dr. Carlile, I wish there was a way to personally thank you, commend, and obviously recommend you to ANYONE in need of hip/pelvis/back surgery. The thought finally occurred to me tonight, that maybe an online review might help; as I know how important public image and positive online reviews can be. I personally experienced online reviews when I lived out West, and once positive reviews were posted in regards to “my work” - I received A LOT more orders/work. Needless to say, Dr. Carlile you probably saved my life with that surgery. I didn’t know if I’d ever be capable of walking again, let alone running. For the first time, since the surgery I attempted a full speed run the other day, and the difference in overall speed, ability, and movement from last year (prior to the accident) and this year was arguably unnoticeable. IF, a slight decrease in speed/mobility is present; I would argue that a year of recovery and virtually no attempt to run until the other day is evident. I absolutely appreciate the ability to move in such a way as I was an all-state basketball player and 3 sport athlete in high school. Honestly, without the ability to walk, let alone run, is a gift and blessing. I thank you from the bottom of my heart and personally owe you the rest of my years ability to have a quality of life. The PAIN is real as screws were inserted into both hips (2 in my right and 1 in left) as well as, a “staple” holding my backbone and hips together. Obviously, handling the pain is my own issue and I’m happy to have the opportunity to handle that as one of the only noticeable side effects, a little of a year later. Seriously man, I cannot thank you enough. I hope and pray that your career takes you to the “top” if you are not already their. Thanks again, and if there’s anything I can do for you, please let me know via Facebook anddduhhh it’s done. I can confidently say without a doubt in my mind your work is flawless, A1, Top Notch, and absolute BEST hip surgeon in Illinois. Stay focused and keep up the excellent work, especially for those who cannot afford it, or don’t have the “best” insurance. Thanks again as I know words could not possibly describe your talent ability and hard work/dedication. Dr. Carlile is an excellent physician/surgeon. He took great care of my mother after a fall that resulted in a broken humerus, which required surgery. He possesses both remarkable skill and knowledge. We were both very impressed. He also spent a lot of time talking to us during her post-op visit. Thank you, Dr. Carlile!

Excellent at explaining all details and options during consultation. Very good communications skills. Performed complex compound non union tibia fracture rod surgery on my son. He’s finally walking without crutches again.

He was clear on what my medical situation was; explained it really well! And he also went out of his way to get me in for emergency surgery.

One of the best experiences (as best as can be) for two ankle surgeries. He is confident and for good reason. He knows what he's doing. He also takes the time to listen. I would definitely recommend him.

Fantastic doctor and surgeon. Dr Carlile went through a thorough examination of my ankle fracture. He provided me with options when it came to the treatment of my injury. We discussed what option we felt was best for my situation and the safest yet quickest recovery time frame. I was never rushed as he spent as much time as needed to discuss and answer all the questions I had for Dr Carlile. The day of surgery he spent plenty of time going over the procedure and how the process was going to flow. He addressed the couple questions that I had and had me well prepared for my surgery. The surgery went smoothly and he was spot on with the pain level and recovery time frame. I appreciated his staff reaching out a few days after surgery to see how I was recovering. Dr. Carlile surgically repaired my tib/fib and ankle fracture with a rod and screws. He took the time to explain the surgery as well the recovery process. He is very good at what he does and put my mind at ease throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend him.

Poor bedside manner and very insensitive. Made me wait for almost two hours both visits. He said my injury is nothing. Those were his exact words! I have seen a doctor from their group when I had rotator cuff surgery and he treated me with compassion and respect. He needs to learn from him. I think he is very discriminating when treating injuries. Maybe my injury is not as bad but he needs to understand that i endured pain and suffering along the process just like the rest.

Just letting everyone know that these 5 star ratings may be skewed. I was asked by his nurse or CNA if she could send me a link to give him a 5 star rating. I was caught off guard and said yes and then felt I needed to follow through. This was at my first visit. Having seen him 3 or 4 times, I would give him about 3 stars. Okay, but not great.

I was in a head on car collision back in December far up North in Minnesota. I was airlifted to North Dakota for immediate surgery. After making the trip back to IL, we weren't sure of where to go, and were referred to Dr. Carlile through a childhood doctor. He has done an incredible job on all three of my surgeries and ensuring I was educated on the healing process. 10/10 would recommend him to anyone in need of ortho help!

Dr. Carlile surgically repaired my wife's fibula fracture with a plate and screws which put her well on her way to full recovery. He was very friendly, helpful and informative about the surgery - before, immediately after and during follow-up appointments. His staff, including Mike and Brenna, are top notch.
