Dr. Kent Stuart Aftergut

Sort of a magical genius! I'm not sure what kind of wizardry Dr. Aftergut is using (science maybe) but he has really improved the quality of life for myself and three of my children. I can't wait to get the rest of our pimply children in to see him! All jokes aside, Dr. Aftergut is highly knowledgeable. He has diagnosed and successfully treated several stubborn issues within our family. We will diligently attend our checkups and stick with him for years to come. The office staff are friendly and caring also, which is also super important to us. Your flesh is your largest and most visible organ so give them a shot at making it great!

Receptionist at the front desk was very rude and unprofessional and liked people skills.I was embarrassed, humiliated and threaten to not see the doctor over a balance of 20$. I was having problems completing the online check in otherwise I would have taken care of it. I just didn’t want everyone in the waiting room to know that I wasn’t computer savvy. I’ve been coming to this doctor for over twenty years as I plan on continuing but, the behavior practiced by this young lady is unexceptionable because some matters require a discreet setting . [Doctor and nurse were awesome as usual].

I had a great 1st experience with Dr. Kent Aftergut today! I was a little nervous as I am with any new doctor seeing how they would approach my skin issues but his knowledge and explanations were wonderful and made me feel excited to treat some issues that I've been dealing with.The front office staff and assistants were very friendly.

THE WORST OFFICE STAFF Let's start off with Linda hanging up on me. I have been trying for over two months to get my medication. I have done everything I can do as a patent to facilitate this. I have called the pharmacy, I have left a million VMs at this so-called doctor's office--I have done everything. And now each time I call having no choice but to talk to Linda each time she is short with me for no reason, tries to rush me to get me off the phone, and no just hung up on me when I asked her for more details about this prior authorization my pharmacy needs. THE WORST OFFICE STAFF Let's start off with Linda hanging up on me. I have been trying for over two months to get my medication. I have done everything I can do as a patent to facilitate this. I had an appointment at 1:15pm on May 6, 2021. Although I arrived early and was subjected to the lazy desk clerk who makes you get up and sit down no less than twice. At 2:05pm I still wasn't seen. I asked what was the problem and was told that the doctor was in surgery. I was never informed that it would be a wait because of the surgery and never did I ask to be worked into a schedule. The office. Manager Laura states she doesn't know what happened but then stated I should be happy with an apology. I stated for my time that can never be recovered and the hassle of having to check my bank account to see if the charge was removed since I had to pay prior to seeing this person. Also I had to check since they couldn't be trusted to get an appointment right how can I expect them to recall that a charge needed to be removed. I would recommend looking into other dermatologist before scheduling here. The doctor spends very little time with you and always seems to be checking the box as he rushes to his next patient. I called to inquire about a prescription refill prior to leaving the country and the front office receptionist was rude in her delivery and never called back to follow-up (she's often there and this wasn't my first, poor customer service experience with her). As a women of color, I was not confident in the doctor's abilities to treat my auto-immune disease, as skin bleaching was a recommendation. Dr Aftergut is just an ok Doctor. He looks like on a hurry when he done my check up. It just take 5 mins to look on me and give prescription right away with out asking if I had any question. He told me to go back after 3 months but I never did. If you are a busy person and you wanted a rush check up maybe he will work for you. Only thing I have a problem is I can not get a hold of the front desk to make an appointment. I have left messages but never a call back. It’s a shame cause Dr. Capasso is a great doctor but the front desk is HORRIBLE

Fantastic experience. I felt comfortable there and minimal wait time.

Very quick, smart, and knows exactly what you need. Strongly recommend him if you have psoriasis and need biologic treatments like taltz.

I have been going here for about 6 years and they have always been extremely kind and helpful. The doctors are very good at what they do and the staff is always friendly.

I went here a few times for my eczema and Dr.Aftergut prescribed me some ointment that did nothing for my eczema, he never even looked @ my skin I will never go back to him.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! This place is horrible starting with the front desk. They have no customer service skills, rude, unprofessional, all they care is collecting your copayment. Not a very welcoming place. Dr Aftergut spends no more than 10 minutes with you and never lets you speak. He wants to do all the talking. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE . Billing personnel is rude and horrible. Great experience with Dr.Aftergut. I went in to have a spot on my face looked at. Dr. Aftergut talked to me for a few minutes after examining the spot. Explained what needed to be done and when to expect lab results. I was in and out in 30 minutes!

My mom was diagnosed with a rare case skin disease. She was helped by many doctors and have taken medicine but she doesn’t get the cure until we went to Dr Aftergut. He has not only prescribed a medication, he has also helped us by making the drug very much affordable. Thank you Dr.

Dr Aftergut was rude, and made his diagnoses in an offhand manner. I came in for a skin health check-up for various issues, and he didn't even have me undress to look at my skin. He also proscribed an ointment for long term usage that ended up causing terrible stretchmarks in odd places. Unhappy with his work, I went to see Dr. Cather off of Park Lane, who was kind, and took a look at every one of my problems. On their…tell us how we did site……. I know my post will not see the light of day on your website but...”TERRIBLE” is how you all did. First I get to your facility and the girl up front takes my paperwork that it took me over 30 min. to prepare. She asked me what pharmacy I use, so I know right off the bat that I am going to get some sort of prescription before anyone even sees me. I told her all that information is on my client information sheet I gave her. She said it was easier and faster to ask me. Another girl sitting next to her told me I need to pay $25.00 even though I have two insurance companies. So I paid. I sat in the waiting room for about 5 min and the girl called “Thompson” (that was me) as next patient. She took me to a room and asked me what I was there for. When I told her, she looked puzzled so I showed her how my face looked a couple of days earlier. She said she needed to take my picture for my record, which we didn’t go over and she left telling me the doctor would be in shortly. The doctor, Dr. Aftergut, came in, took a look and I showed him the pictures from previous days and he said he was going to put me on medication without even asking me what I was taking or without going thru my history or anything. I pulled out my phone to tell him what I was taking, Methylpredisolone and Ketoconazole Cream and he said he was going to send a prescription to the pharmacy and what pharmacy do I use…which they still didn’t know because they didn’t go over anything on my patient information sheet it took me over 30 min to prepare. He did ask me some questions about the redness of my face and a few other things. He told me what he could do to find out what I was allergic to and what to stay away from. And that was all. He told the medical assistant to call in some cream for me and come back in three weeks. The medical Assistant asked me what pharmacy I use……..KROGER. When I went to Kroger ( 2 hours later) to pick my medication up, they didn’t have any record of anyone calling in a prescription. Imagine that!!!! That is just ALL. Won’t be going back to DR. The last time I have been to his office has been a year ago, but Dr. aftergut was really professional the nurses were extremely sweet. My skin problem that I had for years started to go away. But I stopped going because I moved too far, but I will be back for more treatment. He is the only doctor I trust! I am very disappointed in my experience with Dr. Aftergut. I saw him for a year for what seemed like stubborn adult acne. He prescribed several different oral and topical medications, none of which seemed to help. An estetician finally fixed my face, which just turned out to be dry...didn't even have acne!

I tried to make an appointment as a self- pay patient and was denied. I need the medical attention of a dermatologist and understand my financial responsibility as a self- pay patient, but this medical office REFUSED their services to me. I'm very disappointed.

My folks had seen Dr. Bateman and this organization apparently bought her practice. I called to make an appointment. It was obvious by the abominable behavior of the receptionist that they don't need new business. Not to worry, we have moved on. The office could have received 5 stars if the customer service didn't suck from the receptionist. Those who answer the phone or who you see when you first walk in the office is a reflection of the company. In my case I didn't not like the condescending tone of the receptionist on the phone nor did I not appreciate her unwillingness to help with simple questions. Dr. Aftergut is thorough and really works towards resolution/satisfaction. I have been battling adult acne for a while. It wasn't until I started seeing him, that I felt my face would look normal again.

I was very nervous but Dr. Kent and his assistant did a wonderful job. Dr. Kent is very knowledgeable about skin and made me feel very comfortable on my first visit.

I had moles and Tags removed. Very smooth transition from waiting room to seeing Joe the PA. Joe was very personable and professional. I will definitely be going back next year for my yearly checkup.

my experience with dr. Austin was great , I took my daughter for a rash which has been seen by other doctors in the past. Dr. Austin right away knew and took her time with us making sure we understood everything.I am so glad doctors like her still exist.

Dr. Austin is incredible with my daughters. She's patient, explains and gives options of treatments. She has also been prompt at our appointments which is very important when you have multiple kids at the appt. I would definitely recommend Dr. Austin as a pediatric & adult dermatologist.

Dr Aftergut is a fine doctor but his staff is horrible. I am still furious about the lying, incompetent, office manager. I may be able to talk about it in a month.

Came in thinking I would need surgery to take care of a cancerous spot, but was given an option with a 98% cure rate to take care of the problem which was painless and took about a minute! Dr. Aftergut is very easy to talk to, easy to understand and explains your options so you can make your own decision. Even gives you advice as what he would tell his own family on the matter!
